Among K-pop Fans, Online Concerts Are Branded as a True Hassle

It's none other than online concerts!

Typically broadcasted on platforms like Weverse or Beyond Live, these online concerts provide real-time streaming of idol performances. For fans who find ticket prices burdensome or those who want to attend the concert in person but can't, online streaming is like a blessing!

However, the prices for these online concerts were in the 30,000 won range before the pandemic. After going through the pandemic, the prices have skyrocketed, now surpassing 50,000 won. Additionally, some concerts no longer offer VOD (video on demand) and, in some cases, have transitioned to a system where fans need to pay extra fees to purchase streaming rights, allowing for a single re-broadcast on a specified date.

Many fans feel the prices are too high, especially when they don't even get VOD (video on demand).

theqoo

-Seriously, the prices are ridiculousㅋㅋㅋ If it's gonna be like this, at least let us own the VODㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-No way, online concerts used to be in the 20,000 to 30,000 won range, seriously, are they insane?

-For real, if online concerts go beyond 30,000 won, it's just a rip-off no matter how you look at it.

-Seriously, why is the price going up so much?

-Feels expensive without giving VOD; I remember concert DVDs used to be 45,000 won back in the day.

-Back in 2020 when it was in the 30,000 won range, I thought it was a waste even then... Watching at home, my mom would interrupt and talk, so I couldn't even concentrateㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-I don't understand why online concerts are so expensive.

-For real, it's ridiculous, especially when there's no replay available.

-They don't even provide VOD?

-For real, that's why I just don't bother with that payment; might as well watch fan camsㅜ

-I really don't understand this. Even movies in theaters don't cost more than 20,000 won, so why is an online concert priced like this? The quality is terrible, there's no replay, and it's just pure exploitation.

-At first, the price wasn't burdensome, and they even offered 2 replays. But gradually, the price became outrageous, and they started selling replays separately. Crazy people, where's their conscience? Meanwhile, if you're unlucky, the live broadcast gets interrupted abruptly.

Jessica confesses, "Leaving Girls' Generation... It was difficult, but I was able to grow."

On that day, Jessica was asked if she experienced difficulties as a public figure. She responded, "There are both good and bad aspects. Sometimes I feel very blessed, but at times, I also wish to live a life like my friends who are ordinary people. However, no one can have everything, right? That's why I try to balance my life as much as possible."

When asked about the difference between solo and group activities, Jessica said, "The good thing about it is that I can choose everything myself. Conversely, in a group, as you may know, most of the time people have to do things even if they don't want to, just because the other five want to. It might be a simple example, but from small choices to big ones, I had to learn how to deal with such a system."

She also mentioned her feelings after leaving Girls' Generation. Jessica revealed, "I just left the past as the past and tried to see the bright side. Of course, it was one of the most difficult and dark periods in my life at that time."

Furthermore, she said, "But I had family and friends who always supported me, and my fans were always there too. That's why I didn't feel lonely. Also, (on the other hand), I saw it as a good time to grow and develop personally."

What is Namgoong Min's best drama?

1. Listen To My Heart

2. Good Manager

3. Stove League

4. One Dollar Lawyer

5. The Veil

6. My Dearest

-I'm currently watching Stove League...

-I can't choose one between 2, 3, and 4. His acting in Good Manager, Stove League, and One Dollar Lawyer were the best.

-Stove League. I like all of his dramas, though. Until this point, I still believe that Baek Seungsoo is a real person who exists somewhere in this world.

-Stove League and Good Manager...

-Stove League. His class (?) drastically changed after starring in that drama. Along with his popularity.

-I can't choose one between Good Manager and Stove League...

-Good Manager. But my personal favorite is Listen To My Heart.

-Looks like I'm the only one who thinks The Veil is his best drama...

-I've watched every single one of the dramas listed in this post. I think his best drama is Good Managerㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-Good Manager. Stove League comes after that.

-His best drama is Stove League. However, his acting in Listen To My Heart amazed me the most.

PLEDIS reveal their new boygroup's name and title

(NB: 투어스/Too-Eo-Seu)

theqoo

-Why are they so obsessed with numbers?ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-Whoa... How many years have it been?

-That sounds similar to ONEUS...ㅋㅋㅋ

-I wonder how many members will this group have...

-Am I the only one who just doesn't understand how TWS can become Too-Eo-Seu??!

-That sounds like the combination of TXT and ONEUSㅋㅋ

-I don't like that. That doesn't sound like Pledis at all...

-Why does that remind me of Jung Woosung's Instagram ID?

-Bluetooth earphones are called TWSㅋㅋㅋ True Wireless Stereo

-The logo looks cute...

-Is Daniel going to debut along with this group?

-I feel like they could've done better with the name... However, I'm really curious about them. When are they going to debut?

-Dino almost debuted in 2024...ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-Pledis used to be good with group names...

The male cast who become the topic of gossip among the female casts in Single's Inferno

They talk about all the things that made them think, 'Why is he acting like that?'

They also talk about Lee Gwanhee. It seems like the female cast felt that Lee Gwanhee acted as if he was superior, just like how the viewers felt. Gyuri, in particular, seems to dislike that point about him the most.

MY: He must be happy to get all the votes after getting left for two days. Winning all the votes comes with a bonus. "The girl I chose also picked me."

SE: That's not what we had in mind when we voted for him.

MY: Remember at the campfire when I said I'd picked four people. Habis was "Control your woman, Jinseok".

SE: It does feel like the guys are pushing for you two, huh?

MY: It really does. I'm attracted to him. I don't like people trying to set us up. That's for me to decide.

HS: Last night, Gwanhee took me aside for a chat.

HJ: What did you talk about?

HS: I think he found picking three people awkward. I had taken my makeup off, and he was waiting for me outside. He said he was waiting for me. And what he said is that he had seen Gyuri for the first time and he wanted to take her since he was curious about her. He also wants to go with Hajeong and me, since he was acquainted with us. When he said he had talked with Gyuri and added, "It's not like I don't wanna go with you," it struck me. This guy's keeping me as a backup plan.

GR: Listening to him talk is off-putting the more you hear.

Basketball player, Lee Gwanhee.

He picked three female casts he'd like to go to Paradise Island with, but they all expressed discontent, pointing out that they feel like he's using them as a backup plan.

+Context

The panelists also thought it was wrong when he started pointing his fingers

GH: The three women are her, her, and her

JK: 'Her, her, and her'?

DH: They're all going to dock points for that

Dex: Gwanhee's made a blunder there. I get that he's used to talking to people bluntly, but when you're in a crowd you should address people respectfully. But just pointing at them and saying that while everyone's watching him --

-All of the female casts are so beautiful and coolㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-I'm not surprised at all, really

-Whoa... Him saying 'her, her, and her' is really a turn-off...

-Him referring to the girls as 'her, her, and her' is really disrespectful and off-putting

-I remember him saying that one of the casts who is 10 years younger than him looks older than himㅋㅋㅋㅋ The girls have my respect for only laughing it off...

-Dex is right. I know he had no ill intention behind that, but you should address people respectfully when you're in a crowd.

-Yeah, isn't he famous for being rude on the basketball court?

-Dex is right (and he also looks really handsome)ㅋㅋㅋ I'm interested in this season only because the male casts are off-puttingㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-Not surprised. Just another day of Lee Gwanhee being Lee Gwanhee.

-He's 36, right?? It amazes me how he still dares to go on a dating show at that age and refer female casts who are so much younger than him like that...

-I f*cking hate him, seriously. Ajusshi, you should leave.

-Hul.. Loser behaviorㅠㅠㅠ

-He should be in I am Solo, not Single's Inferno

Did HYBE hire gangsters in place of a security team? One of HYBE's security team grabbed my clothes and yanked me out. I had to go to a hospital and was diagnosed with a fracture.

Did HYBE hire gangsters instead of a security team? On the day of a HYBE artist's departure, one of the security team grabbed my clothes and pushed me so hard. I had to seek medical attention and they said I had a fracture, so I had to wear a cast. Both the celebrities and security teams have already left.  There's no customer service or inquiry desk I can contact. I feel like I stepped on a pile of crap.

I endured all of this silently for quite a long time. About 10 days after that incident happened, I somehow managed to contact the security team and told them about the incident. They asked me why it took me so long to contact them and insisted that if I had mentioned it at that time, they would've taken actions.

It's not like I had an X-ray attached to my eyes. How could I diagnose whether it was just muscle pain or a fracture at that time? Also, they argued that what they did was unavoidable for the protection of the artist and insisted there was no malicious intention behind it. Why does HYBE's security team always resort to violence like this? Breaking bones in the name of artist protection?

theqoo

-You can't call that 'artist protection'. That's assault.

-I seriously hope the OP would sue that security team..

-That's f*cking serious... She couldn't even prepare herself to be thrown like that...

-It looks like HYBE recruits guys who are known to be the gangsters in their neighborhood...

-Is HYBE going to stay f*cking silent amidst all of this?? I'm so sick and tired of them

-HYBE again?

-That is insane...

-I hope the OP wouldn't think twice about suing HYBE's security team. That's assault. It's a criminal act.

-That guy was hired to protect the artist, not to hurt the fansㅠㅠ I really hope the OP would sue him...

-I'm sure HYBE makes a lot of money. I hope they've learned their lesson and are considering to hire a professional security team for their artists now.

-Since when did protecting the artists require assaulting fans like that?
