Seungri spotted at a club in Bali with his friends ... "Come hang out at our place"

by Journalist Park Donghwan

https://n.news.naver.com/article/009/0005348889?sid=102

After serving time for the 'Burning Sun incident,' singer Seungri has denied reports that he will attend an event in Indonesia at the end of this month under the name 'Burning Sun Surabaya.' Despite this denial, he has been recently spotted in Indonesia and seen at clubs.

According to Maeil Business News, Seungri was observed multiple times on October 10th at S Club and other venues in Bali, Indonesia. Surabaya, located on Java Island, is approximately 300 km from Bali, with a flight time of about 50 minutes.

In a video obtained by the outlet, Seungri is seen chatting with one or two women, who are presumably Korean, at a club. When one woman asks, “Will Seunghyun (Seungri’s real name) buy it for us?” Seungri responds, “I’ll buy it, I’ll buy it.”

Additionally, one of Seungri’s companions reportedly invited other Korean tourists to join them at their accommodation, which is a 5-minute walk away.

On November 11th, the American K-pop news outlet 'Allkpop' reported that event management company TSV Management announced on Instagram Stories on October 9th that they would host an event called 'Burning Sun Surabaya' on October 31st, with Seungri as a special guest.

Seungri later told a media outlet, “I want to stay quiet, but my story keeps coming out and I think people are getting tired of it, so I want to correct the facts.” He continued, “I don’t even know the Indonesian area mentioned in the article, and the club name is too similar to Burning Sun. It says I’ll be there on August 31st, but I have no such plans,” thus denying the 'Allkpop' report.

-It’s a disease at this point.

-Doesn’t he have any shame? Is he not embarrassed in front of his family? How can he live like this?

-He’s really showing that people don’t change...ㅎㅎ

-Doesn’t he have a younger sister too?

-Shouldn’t he be banned from entering the country?

-Aren’t those Korean women aware of who Seungri is? Why hang out with him?

-Seriously 🤮🤮🤮

-Wow... He's really amazing.

-He’s really like a pest.

-He’s living recklesslyㅋㅋㅋㅋ He has connections and money, that's why he has nothing to fearㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-Does he really like women that much?!!?

-It’s pathetic, really pathetic.

Information on SEVENTEEN’s JEONGHAN and JUN’s Activities in the Second Half of 2024

 Hello. This is PLEDIS Entertainment.

We would like to provide information regarding SEVENTEEN JEONGHAN and JUN’s activities in the second half of 2024.

JEONGHAN is due to fulfill his military obligation in the second half of 2024. While JEONGHAN filmed most of the content he could in advance, he will not be able to participate in promotional activities for the 12th mini album and the SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR, scheduled to start in October. JEONGHAN will still be able to meet with CARATs through the previously announced fan signing event and Lollapalooza Berlin. Further details regarding JEONGHAN’s military service will be provided later in a separate notice.

After thorough discussions with JUN and the other members of SEVENTEEN, we have decided that JUN will pursue acting and other opportunities in China during the latter half of this year. Like JEONGHAN, JUN has completed filming for content that could be prepared in advance. However, due to an overlap with the on-location filming schedule, JUN will not be able to participate in Lollapalooza Berlin, music show performances for the 12th mini album, and the SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR. JUN is determined to participate in SEVENTEEN’s group activities, and though he is unable to take part in the world tour, JUN will participate as much as he can in schedules that engage with CARATs.

We ask for your kind understanding and support for JEONGHAN’s healthy completion of his military service and JUN’s upcoming projects. Please continue to show your love for SEVENTEEN and stay tuned for SEVENTEEN’s upcoming activities this year.

Thank you.

Prosecutors demand Sojang fine of 3 Million KRW for 'Defamation of Kang Daniel'

by Journalist Lee Seunghoon

https://naver.me/57VNa9tv

theqoo

-Only 3 million?

-It's just a fine. If they go to civil court, this amount won't be the end.

-The cost of the lawsuit might be higher than this fine.

-Only that? She should be punished more.

-What? Only 3 million? Is that all?

-Personally, I think the penalty should be higher. I hope the laws get tougher.

-I hope all the entertainment companies that were targeted by Sojang sue her.

-It’s just the beginning. I hope this sets a good precedent.

-The fine is too low;; ㅋㅋㅋ

-That's probably the maximum amount.

-Sojang could easily make hundreds of millions from one video. The fine should be higher.

-So this is a prosecution's demand, not a final verdict?

-If 3 million won is the prosecution's demand, the final judgment might be less...

-What? It’s a demand, not a final verdict?

Maya Taguchi, born in 2005

It is said that she won a gold medal in her first appearance at the Junior Badminton World Championships. However, she is not selected for the Paris Olympics.

-She looks like Haerin; she really looks like a doll.

-She looks like Tsuki.

-Came in expecting to disagree, but I admit she does look similar.

-I think she also resembles Haerin?

-She looks like a mix of Tsuki and Yooa.

-She resembles Yoon Seungah!

-Her smile is so refreshing!

-If she had idol styling, she would look incredibly pretty.

-Hanni? I’m not sure, but she looks like Tsuki.

-She looks like a mix of several people, so I can’t pinpoint exactly, but she’s really pretty.

-Pretty, but I don’t see her resemblance to Hanni!

-She really looks like Hanni in the fourth photo.

-Wow, she really looks cute.

Suga --> Rosé and Jennie Challenge: Overseas Extremist Fandom Crosses the Line … Only My Idol is Important?

by Journalist Lee Minkyung

https://m.entertain.naver.com/article/312/0000674954

In response to the "Suga Challenge," a "Rosé and Jennie Challenge" emerged. Rumors circulated that BLACKPINK’s fandom, BLINK, created the "Suga Challenge" to tarnish the reputation of BTS’ fandom, ARMY, leading to criticism and attacks on BLACKPINK's Rosé and Jennie. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time overseas fandoms have fabricated rumors and criticized other artists to protect their favorites.

On August 12, claims began circulating among ARMYs that the "Suga Challenge," which defended BTS's Suga for allegedly drinking and riding an electric scooter, was actually a creation of BLACKPINK’s fandom to damage BTS's reputation.

Overseas ARMYs responded to the "Suga Challenge" by creating the "Rosé Challenge" and "Jennie Challenge." In the "Rosé Challenge," they attached drug-related images to Rosé, portraying her as if she were involved in drug crimes. In the "Jennie Challenge," they posted photos of men alongside Jennie, engaging in blatant sexual harassment. These challenges have gained significant traction, with related posts reaching up to 940,000 views.

This isn’t the first instance of extreme overseas ARMYs attacking BLACKPINK members.

In December 2021, BTS members created personal Instagram accounts for the first time in 8 years after their debut. A controversy arose when V, one of the BTS members, suddenly followed Jennie’s Instagram account, leading to speculation. At that time, V only followed his fellow BTS members and the official BTS account, but when he followed Jennie, it caused a stir. V later indirectly addressed the issue on Weverse, hinting that the follow was accidental by saying, "Is there a way to remove Instagram recommendations? It's a scary app."

Despite this, some extreme overseas fans flooded Jennie’s Instagram with vomit emojis, tagged #FREETAE, and demanded to know the nature of their relationship.

A pop culture critic Ha Jaegeun analyzed that the practice of overseas K-pop fandoms attacking other artists stems from cultural differences between domestic and international fandoms. He explained, "In Korea, there's an unspoken rule within fandoms not to mention other artists."

He continued, "Due to the nature of fandoms, aggressive behavior towards other artists can emerge in the process of supporting their own. In Korea, there was severe fandom conflict during the early days of idol culture, leading to a sort of implicit agreement. If someone mentions another artist, they are cautioned by their peers, but this culture has not settled overseas. Therefore, things that are unlikely to happen in Korea can occur abroad."

Ha added, "It's difficult to confirm whether BLACPINK's fans actually initiated the 'Suga Challenge', so it's premature to conclude that BLINKs were responsible for the whole situation. Even if that were the case, it would be clearly wrong for overseas ARMYs to make false claims about BLACKPINK."

Compared to domestic fandoms, overseas fandoms tend to support their favorite artists by criticizing other artists more frequently. A similar phenomenon is occurring outside of idol fandoms, even within the broadcasting industry.

Actresses Jeon Somin, who previously appeared on SBS's "Running Man," and Ji Yeeun, who is currently appearing on the show, are prime examples of artists suffering due to overseas hardcore fandoms. "Running Man"’s international fandom wanted the original members to remain on the show and criticized Jeon So-min when she joined, with comments like "Ji-hyo is the only woman" and "Draw a clear line between her and the regular members." After Jeon So-min's departure, Ji Ye-eun has also faced negative comments, with fans only supporting the chemistry of the original members and rejecting her

Criticizing other artists is not necessary to protect the artists you love. This behavior only harms both the artists being criticized and the ones being supported. This phenomenon shouldn't be dismissed as merely a cultural difference between overseas and domestic fandoms. Just as domestic fandoms have done in the past, there is an urgent need for efforts within overseas fandoms to self-regulate.

theqoo

-I just hope they can enjoy their own fandom happily... and stop bothering others.

-It's like these two fandoms are pulling each other's hair, but both sides are the same. There's no side worth supporting. Those overseas fans just take turns going crazy.

-The one who should be considered a murderer is their oppa, yet they take it out on unrelated female idols. The more they act out, the more they push him toward leaving.

-Stop harassing Rosé and Jennie, you crazy people...

-It’s truly disgusting. The toxicity of ARMY is unmatched. Both domestic or overseas ARMYs, they’re all the same.

-Those fans are out of their minds.

-They’re freaking out because BLACKPINK isn't getting affected.

-Both sides should just stop.

-Why are they dragging female idols into this while defending a drunk-driving criminal?

-Why are they harassing female idols like this? Even if you’re crazy about a guy, at least do it gracefully.

-Those crazy fans will eventually get what they deserve. This is disgusting.

-BLACKPINK fans are the ones with solid grounds to sue.

-The craziest and most delusional fans are always defending their idols in the weirdest ways. They don’t have to prove anything, but they still do these things. Why?

-Please stop, BLACKPINK fans didn’t do anything.

The initial casting of the drama "Moon Embracing the Sun"

Lee Hwon - Kim Soohyun

Heo Yeonwoo - Moon Geunyoung

Prince Yang Myung - Juwon

-I imagined Moon Geunyoung as Heo Yeonwoo since I was reading the book..

-I think this combination would have been good too.

-Ah... I wish they could work together just once...

-Wow, Moon Geunyoung would have been perfect...

-Honestly, I prefer this. Han Ga-in and Kim Soo-hyun had too much of an age gap... Plus, Kim Soo-hyun looks so young that it felt even more like a mismatch. Even back then, it felt awkward to watch because it seemed like a noona-dongsaeng relationship ㅠㅠ

-They would have looked so good together...

-It's such a shame. If they had cast her, I would have watched until the end.

-This is so good. Even now, I still want to see them together in a historical drama.

-I tried watching it again two years ago, but I couldn't finish it because of the lack of chemistry between the leads. I'm usually not picky about that kind of thing, but it was hard to watch.

-They are the same age, so their chemistry would have been better. Both are great actors tooㅠㅠ It's such a shameㅠㅠ

-Back then, Juwon had to drop out because his KBS drama got extended.

-Kim Soohyun and Moon Geunyoung would have been great togetherㅠㅠㅠㅠ.

-Honestly, I prefer this casting... Honestly, I didn't watch the show because of the female lead, but if it had been like this, I would have watched it.

-This is it. I enjoyed the drama, but when I read the original work, this is what I envisioned.

The drama that receives complaints even before its first drama airs

'Your Honor'

Starring Son Hyunjoo, Kim Myungmin, Kim Dohoon, Heo Namjoon

Plot: A judge who covers up his son's murder vs. a crime boss who hunts down his son's killer. A clash of fatherly instincts as two fathers turn into monsters for the sake of their children.

Judge who covers up his son's murder = Son Hyunjoo

Crime boss hunting down his son's killer = Kim Myungmin

Son Hyunjoo's son = Kim Dohoon

Kim Myungmin's son = Heo Namjoon

Just from the plot, it sounds like a must-watch with Son Hyunjoo and Kim Myungmin's acting bound to be amazing, so why are there complaints?

"Airing on ENA, Genie TV Original"

If your home TV doesn't have the ENA channel or Genie TV, you can't watch it.

(It means you can't watch it on OTT platforms like Netflix, Wavve, or TVing.)

Genie TV doesn't even sell a subscription pass, so you just can't watch it... Yes, please at least sell a subscription pass...

theqoo

-Genie TV is seriously frustrating. There are a few dramas I couldn't watch because of it.

-Looks interesting.

-ENA seems to be making good dramas lately. Wasn't "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" also from there?

-This sucks... Please put it on OTT...

-Not even on Disney+?

-It's really difficult to watch unless you catch the rerun on TV!!!

-Wow, just from the poster, you can tell the acting is going to be insane.

-These days, how many people actually tune in to live broadcasts? I'm really looking forward to this, but how do we even watch it?

-It's today, gotta watch it.

-The comments here make me want to watch it even more.

-The cast is amazing.

-My mom will love this.

-If anyone finds out where we can watch this, please shareㅠㅠㅠㅠ

Former Fifty Fifty Members Saena, Aran, and Sio to Re-debut Under New Group Amid Legal Dispute with Former Agency

by Journalist Jang Jinri

https://naver.me/xzxFu83A

Former Fifty Fifty members Saena, Aran, and Sio, who are currently embroiled in a 13 billion KRW lawsuit against their former agency ATTRAKT, have revealed their decision to resume their entertainment activities.

The three members have signed an exclusive contract with Massive E&C, a label under IOK Company. They are set to re-debut as part of a new girl group in the second half of this year.

Notably, Saena, Aran, and Sio are engaged in an ongoing lawsuit against ATTRAKT, seeking damages amounting to 13 billion KRW. They had previously filed for an injunction to suspend their exclusive contracts, but lost the case after an appeal.

Following this, ATTRAKT has filed a lawsuit against the three members, their parents, and twelve other individuals including The Givers’ CEO An Sungil, who was implicated in the contract dispute, with the first trial scheduled for the 29th.

IOK Company stated that the three members, who were key figures in Fifty Fifty’s global success, will continue their careers in a new group.

A representative for Saena, Aran, and Sio told SPOTV News on the 12th, "We are doing our best to ensure that the members' perspectives are fully represented in the ongoing legal proceedings." They added, "We are cautious about making any official statements before the trial, but we plan to address any grievances through the court."

Saena, Aran, and Sio will retain their stage names from their Fifty Fifty days in their new group. The representative confirmed, "All three members will continue to use their stage names, and we have verified that there are no legal issues with this."

Meanwhile, Fifty Fifty has restructured their group following the departure of these three members. Original member Kina has been joined by new members Chanelle, Hana, Yewon, and Athena, and the group is set to release new music on September 20.

theqoo

-They're clearly trying to ride on Fifty Fifty's success, and it's obvious.

-The new company that took them in is just as questionable as the members themselves... Honestly, I'm done with them.

-Yeah, go make money and pay off your penalties...

-It's seriously annoying that they’re doing this while Fifty Fifty is making a comeback.

-Why is that company trying to take such a risk?

-Except for Aran, I don’t really know them, and their styling and vibe aren't anything special. The fact that they released this news on the day of Fifty Fifty Athena's teaser is just so off...

-Well, it’d be nice if both groups do well, right? Fighting.

-How about naming their new group "The Quitters"?

-The new agency is just as shameless.

-How are they so shameless?

-They claim they're not Fifty Fifty anymore, but they sure are promoting hard using the name.

-Wow, there's actually an agency that took them in.

-It's seriously annoying that they’re doing this while Fifty Fifty is making a comeback.

-Work hard to pay off those penalties.

-Better work hard if you want to pay those fees.
