The person who played a role behind the casting of T.O.P in Squid Game 2 is not Lee Jungjae but Lee Byunghun? Company remains silent

BH Ent. has not made any specific statements amid allegations that Lee Byunghun had a role behind the casting of Bigbang's T.O.P (Choi Seunghyun) in Netflix's Squid Game 2 despite his involvement in a drug scandal. BH Ent. remained silent as they stated, 'There is no official statement' when asked about the matter.

Squid Game 2, which will begin filming in the second half of the year, is highly anticipated as Season 1 captivated audiences worldwide in 2021. Given the success of Season 1, there is a significant level of interest and anticipation surrounding Season 2. Netflix recently shocked viewers as they include T.O.P in the lineup of additional cast members on June 29th.

Cont'd

According to Newsen, it was revealed that Lee Jungjae and T.O.P were once as close as brothers, but they have had no communication in the past few years. An insider stated to Newsen, 'The last time Lee Jungjae and T.O.P contacted each other was several years ago. Lee Jungjae saw T.O.P's face for the first time in a long time during the script reading for Squid Game 2 which was held on the 23rd. That was also the day he first learned that (T.O.P) is confirmed to star in the show."

Due to that statement, suspicions have been raised that it was not Lee Jungjae but Lee Byunghun who played the role behind the casting of T.O.P in the show. This is due to the fact that Kang Jangwoo, CEO of T.O.P's management previously worked for Lee Byunghun's company, BH Entertainment. Unlike Lee Jungjae, multiple insiders stated that T.O.P and Lee Byunghun continue to maintain their close friendship over the years. Additionally, actors from BH Ent. and Hiin Ent. such as Lee Jinwook, Park Sunghoon, and Won Jian also have joined the lineup of Squid Game 2.

In response to this controversy, Netflix stated, 'The casting of actors in Netflix productions is determined by the director, writer, and production company. Netflix respects and acknowledges their decision.'

-Did the production team seriously not expect to receive negative reactions from casting him?

-I will pretend to forget about this, so please leave the show as soon as possible...

-Why did you cast such a controversial person in the first place?

-At this point, he really should get the hint and leave the show on his own

-I knew itㅋㅋㅋ I mean, just look at the numbers of BH Ent.'s artists in the lineup...

-Does that mean Lee Byunghun played a role behind T.O.P's casting in the show? What the hell... Lee Byunghun should also leave the show then...

-It looks like Lee Byunghun really did have a role behind T.O.P's casting, considering the number of BH Ent.'s artists in this show's lineup...

-Leave the show~ Didn't you say you were going to retire from this industry?~

-Just kick him out of the show. It hasn't even started filming anyway. I'm no longer interested in watching this show now.

-He should get the hint by now;; What the f*ck... Didn't he say he was going to retire from the industry?

-I guess I'll just have to boycott this show then...

-Ah... They still haven't started filming the show?? That's a relief. I hope he leaves the show.

-Leave the show, you druggie.

-I really loved Squid Game, thoughㅠㅠㅠ Season 2 is already controversial even before it starts filmingㅠㅠㅠ

Choi Yena's Hate Rodrigo MV has been set to private

The controversy surrounding the song arises not only from the title but also from the references to Olivia Rodrigo in the lyrics

+ The word 'Hate' carries a strong expression of extreme loathing especially for native English speakers

Recently, they have stopped using the hashtag #Hate_Rodrigo on Twitter

-Is she going to change the song title...?

-I wonder who came up with that title... I'm sure they know Intl fans would throw a fit over thisㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-At this point, I think it's better for her to stop promoting this song... Try putting yourself in other shoes and imagine if a singer from another country released a song titled Hate along with a K-pop idol group name...

-It's bizarre how they didn't even anticipate to receive negative reactions... Who on earth came up with this idea in the first place?

-Exactly... Why did they come up with that title in the first place?

-I mean... I'm sure you would throw a fit if a singer from another country released a song titled Hate Yena...

-I wonder who came up with this idea... They shouldn't even consider that title in the first place...

-I was really shocked when I first heard the title... Why did they have to come up with that title?ㅜㅜㅜ

-The word 'Hate' is so much stronger than you guys think...ㅠㅠ Native speakers don't use that word unless they really loathe it...

-It's even worse, especially considering that Olivia Rodrigo is just a 20 year old singer who has only released one album...

-I really hope she would change the title now...

-They could've just titled the song 'Hate XX'... I wonder what made them think it's a good idea to put Olivia Rodrigo's name there...

-I'm sure she wouldn't receive negative reactions if she titled it 'I'm Jealous of Rodrigo' or something cute like that... What kind of marketing strategy is this?

-'Hate XX' sounds so much better, though...
