HYBE's direct hit on Min Heejin: 'Do you have any intention to protect your employees?'

Regarding the recent controversy, HYBE released a statement that directly targeted ADOR's CEO Min Heejin, saying, "If she had intentions to protect her employees, this thing wouldn't have occurred."

On the 10th, HYBE claimed, "The audit conducted on ADOR's style directing team leader on the evening of 9th was proceeded lawfully, with the consent of the auditee. The procedures were not coercive."

Previously, ADOR said the audit went for over 5 hours, even past midnight on the 10th. In response, HYBE stated, "The team leader arrived at the company at 6PM. Upon receiving call from the audit team, she responded at 7PM."

Regarding ADOR's claim that the audit went as far as following the team leader to her house, demanding not only laptop but also her personal phone, HYBE responded as follows:

"During the audit process, the team leader admitted to receiving hundreds of millions of won in bribes from an external contractor with the approval of CEO Min Heejin. Additionally, she expressed her intention to submit her personal laptop at home. With her consent, our female employees accompanied her to her home, took the laptop, and returned back to the office. The team leader consented to the use of personal information and expressed willingness to cooperate, that's why she handed over the laptop."

Furthermore they added, "CEO Min Heejin and other ADOR's staff haven't used the official messenger of the company for work conversations. They rely solely on Kakao Talk. Despite requesting the submission of data stored on the phone, the team leader did not comply. HYBE's audit team did not make further submission requests."

ADOR disagreed with HYBE's claim, stating that there was not embezzlement as the team leader did not receive incentives from ADOR, but received payment from advertiser for her work as a freelancer. 

In response, HYBE countered, "There is no practice within the company where a permanent employee directly receive hundreds of millions of won from an advertiser. Besides, it is a clear violation of law for a company to transfer funds to individuals, especially when the CEO knows about it for a long time."

They added, "Furthermore, CEO Min Heejin hasn't taken any action for the recovery of the illegally received money. We also expect a thorough investigation to clarify where the hundreds of millions of won received by the team leader went."

HYBE expressed strong regret towards the misleading statement that CEO Min Heejin's side previously released, saying "This is a serious defamation against the company." They announced their intention to take appropriate legal actions regarding this matter.

Shinsegae Group's granddaughter will no longer be debuting in Teddy's girl group

According to XSportnews on the 10th, Moon Seoyoon, the granddaughter of Shinsegae Chairman Lee Myunghee, will no longer be joining the new girl group debuting under The Black Label.

ADOR revealed that HYBE conducted an investigation on A, the head of style-directing team in ADOR, for 5 hours from 7PM. HYBE's team was reported to visit a female stylist's house late at night during the process. 

A stated, "I was frightened when HYBE's audit team mentioned embezzlement and breach of trust. They suggested that I could be reported to the police."

HYBE claimed that the issue started when A received styling fees from an advertiser. ADOR explained that in the advertising industry, freelancers usually have separate contracts signed. Besides, freelancers usually have their own team that handles these tasks. ADOR stated that when calculating A's incentives, they took into account the fees received from advertisers. ADOR argued that HYBE couldn't accuse A of embezzlement since the company didn't suffer any financial loss as A received incentives instead of direct payments from advertisers. Besides, this issue had been shared with HYBE's HR and ER departments back in February. 

A stated, "I didn't expect this to happen because it was a common practice to receive advertising fees, even at my previous company. Besides, ADOR had approved it as part of my incentives." A shared that she received a call from HYBE audit team, who told her they needed to review her works for possible illegal or wrongful acts. At that time, A expressed willingness to cooperate despite feeling pressured. 

A said, "They told me to tell the truth, so I did. The audit team said that receiving money from outside sources under a non-compete agreement is embezzlement, which scared me a lot. When I asked them if I have to go to the police station, they said it's better to talk here. So, I told the truth as it is."

Furthermore, they added, "The audit team went too far by following the staff to their home and demanding not only their laptops, but also their personal mobile phones. They abused their authority by making unreasonable threats, saying 'If you don't cooperate, you'll have to go to the police station,' causing psychological pressure on our staff."

According to ADOR, HYBE raised issues about the contract between ADOR and the styling director, suspecting embezzlement. ADOR stated, "HYBE's concern is that internal members received payment straight from advertisers instead of from incentives from ADOR. However, ADOR didn't suffer from financial loss. Contrary to HYBE's claims, they can't say this is embezzlement." 

ADOR criticized this audit as an illegal interference, coercion, and invasion of privacy.  They also mentioned considering options such as withdrawing consent for the use of personal information obtained during the audit and suing HYBE for obstruction of business and coercion.

HYBE responded, saying, "Claiming 'illegal' without following proper audit procedures is problematic," and stated, "We will soon release a statement containing the accurate facts."

An idol explains why they don't necessarily go on music shows

Music shows are great, they're really fun, but they don't make a lot of profit. 

It doesn't have a huge promotional effect, just like how it did in the 2nd Gen, and the cost for appearing on a music show for one week is like 10M KRW (~$7,000 USD; ~Rp117,000,000 IDR). While the appearance fee for each idol group per music show is like 50,000 KRW(~$36 USD; ~Rp586,000 IDR)ㅋㅋ

I don't know if it's gone up these days. But back in my time, the appearance fee for one music show was 50,000 KRW per team. That's how it was. 

And if you're having a comeback, you'd want to look cool. So, you have to build a set and stuff, which costs extra on top of that. Plus hair, makeup, styling fees, on-site staff meals, snacks, drinks, etc. It can easily reach 20M KRW (~$14,000 USD; ~Rp234,000,000 IDR).

That's all debt for idols. 

It's a game that doesn't work out for most teamsㅋㅋ

You can easily produce a better music video with the cost of going to music shows for 1 to 2 weeks. 

These are the things that don't really need to be said, but since some of you were curious...ㅋㅋㅋ

But you still have to promote somehow

I really respect Kpop artists... They live in a really competitive world

I'm only saying this because fans keep asking us to go on music shows every time we release a song

There are hardly any idol groups that actually get paid. They just end up accumulating debt until their contracts end, except for a few groups that are at the top of the festival lineup as headliners and few groups that are known even to the general public, not just Kpop fans. 

You can be considered to survive well if you disband in the middle of the contract or safely finish your 7-year contract even without earning moneyㅠㅋㅋㅋ

As Winter reveals the support she receives from her family, netizen's attention are drawn back to the message Bang Sihyuk sent to Min Heejin, asking her if she can step on Aespa.'

On the 9th, on the paid-communication platform Bubble, Winter mentioned the recent conversation she had with her older brother, saying "When I said I was having a hard time on Instagram, my brother said he would take care of everything."
