Actor Ahn Hyoseop will attend the world's largest fashion charity event, the Met Gala, continuing his remarkable global rise.

Ahn Hyoseop has been officially invited by Italian luxury brand Valentino and confirmed to attend the Met Gala, which will be held this May at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. With this, following his appearance on NBC's 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' and his attendance at the 98th Academy Awards, he becomes the first Korean actor to achieve a 'global triple crown,' spanning television, film, and fashion.

The Met Gala, which began in 1948, is a global fashion event and charity fundraiser held annually on the first Monday of May at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. It is a symbolic event where only top-tier celebrities representing various fields are invited. Ahn Hyoseop's attendance itself proves his international status and influence.

This achievement is built upon the consecutive success of his dramas. After creating a global sensation with the SBS 'Business Proposal,' he solidified his presence both domestically and internationally through the 'Dr. Romantic' series and the Netflix film 'K-Pop Demon Hunters.'

Recently, the SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama 'Sold Out on You,' in which he plays the lead role, also achieved remarkable success by ranking No. 1 globally in Netflix's non-English TV Show category, further proving his popularity.

Having achieved both critical acclaim and buzz, attention is now focused on what new milestones Ahn Hyoseop will make following his appearance at this year's Met Gala.

Kwon Ohjoong sheds tears after his son suffered school bullying: "Forced to crawl and was beaten"

Actor Kwon Ohjoong shed tears as he revealed that his son had been a victim of school violence.

On the episode of KBS' 'Let's Live Together with Hwang Shinhye' that aired on the 29th, Kwon Ohjoong appeared as a guest.

On this episode, Kwon Ohjoong confessed that his son had been bullied for a year.

He recalled, "When my son started middle school, he said he didn't want to go to school anymore. He said someone had hit him in the stomach. I eventually went to meet the students involved, but they only said, 'I get along with Hyukjoon very well.' I ended up scolding my son when I got home."

One day, Kwon Ohjoong received a call from the school and learned that his son was bleeding from the neck. He said, "It turned out he had been bullied by five students for a year. They pretended to be friendly, but they would beat him with sticks and made him crawl in the bathroom."

He added, "The leader of the group transferred to another school, but the problem is that he did it voluntarily, so it doesn't stay on his school record. The other four perpetrators were only moved to different classes."

He continued, "Even after being moved to different classes, they would say things like 'Don't go near him, you'll get reported to the police.' Nothing changes. Kids can be really cruel."

Kwon Ohjoong said tearfully, "School violence doesn't just destroy the child. It destroys their parents too. My only wish is for my wife and I to see our son walk properly and live a normal life before we go."

On the latest episode of 'Radio Star,' Lee Jonghyuk shared an update on his second son and revealed that his eldest son, Taksu, nearly became an idol.

On this episode, Lee Jonghyuk shared an update on his second son, Junsu, saying, "He was recently accepted into several universities: Sejong University, Seoul Institute of Arts, and Chung-Ang University."

When asked, "Did he go to Seoul Institute of Arts like you?" Lee Jonghyuk replied, "He wanted to, but I told him to go wherever he wanted. He chose the Department of Theater and Film at Chung-Ang University. It's interesting that both father and son are theater majors."

He also shared that the three of them took a photo together wearing their respective school jackets. Lee Jonghyuk bragged, "That was when Junsu got his varsity jacket. It feels amazing, doesn't it? He was taking pictures with his brother, and I joined in. They asked me, 'Dad, don't you have your jacket?' and we took pictures together." He proudly added, "The competition rate for admission was very fierce. I'm really proud of him."

Meanwhile, Lee Jonghyuk's eldest son, Taksu, drew attention by naming BTS' V as both his rival and role model. Kim Gura remarked, "Aren't you friends with V's father?" Lee Jonghyuk replied, "I drink beer and play billiards with his father in the neighborhood."

He added that they even go to karaoke together, saying, "If I ask 'Hyung, what song should we sing today?' he will say 'Let's go with Cho Yongpil,' and we would sing 30 songs. He suggests we should sing Lee Moonse's songs next."

Lee Jonghyuk added, "Since we've become close, Taksu tells me, 'You never know what I'll become, so don't be jealous,' which gives me confidence. He even set his messenger profile to 'I will be a filial son.' I'm grateful that he has that mindset."

In particular, Lee Jonghyuk surprised everyone by revealing that Taksu almost debuted as an idol, saying, "When he was in high school, he suddenly said he wanted to take dance classes. I said I'd look into it. Within a week, Starship Entertainment contacted us asking if he had any interest in becoming an idol."

He added, "I thought it would be good for him to learn professionally. We'd save on academy fees, and if it worked out, he could debut as an idol and even start acting later. So he accepted the offer. However, the distance between Ilsan and Gangnam was too far, and whenever he tried to rest on weekends, his seniors would call him in to prepare for monthly evaluations. It became hard for him to keep up with his studies, so he quit."

Lee Daehwi: "Juniors these days don't greet ... I go up to them first"

SOURCE: 이대휘 "요즘 후배들 인사 안 해...내가 먼저 찾아가"(라스)[종합]

Lee Daehwi mentioned the etiquette of junior artists these days on 'Radio Star.'

The episode of MBC's 'Radio Star' aired on the 29th featured a special titled 'The ones who reunited, Naya Na! Together we rise!' featuring guests Lee Jonghyuk, Yoo Sun, Jeon Somi, and Lee Daehwi.

On this episode, Lee Daehwi sparked curiosity by saying that he learned 'old-school senior behavior' from the older members during his time in Wanna One.

Lee Daehwi shared, "I debuted at the age of 17. I was very young. Back then, I promoted while only getting about seven hours of sleep a week."

He recalled, "I was exhausted during a pre-recording for a music show and said 'I wish this was the last recording.' The older members heard that and called me over. They told me, 'You shouldn't have that kind of mindset. You need to be more grateful.'"

Lee Daehwi added, "That's why I always tell my juniors, 'Make sure to greet properly.' When it comes to greeting, the younger artists these days are..." and trailed off.

He went on, "I want to get closer to my juniors, but not a single person comes to my waiting room. In the past, we would personally visit seniors to greet them and give them our CDs, but now I'm actually the one who goes to the juniors first to say hello."

He drew attention by adding, "That part makes me a bit disappointed. The culture of greeting the PDs after the music show ends has also disappeared."

Meanwhile, Jeon Somi talked about IOI's reunion after 10 years, saying, "The preparations are almost finished. We are practicing six hours a day while waiting for the comeback," announcing their return on May 19.

She added with a laugh, "Things have changed now that 10 years have passed. Back then, things felt easy no matter how much we practiced, but now our stamina isn't what it used to be."

She continued, "Even though I'm the youngest, my knees are already giving out. The older members are still going strong, though. Ten years really makes a difference. In the past, we used to monitor our styling after performances, but these days, we mostly share hospital reviews and talk about health."

She concluded, "The older members are still the same, but they tell me I've changed a lot over the past 10 years. Especially Sejeong Unnie, she tells me I've become 'a true women among women,' which touched me," bringing laughter as she imitated Kim Sejeong.

Lawyers analyze Song Mino's willingness to re-enlist: "Likely a strategy aimed at sentencing"

SOURCE: 송민호, 재복무 의지에…현직 변호사 "양형 노린 판단일 것" [RE:뷰]

WINNER's Song Mino, who faces a prison sentence for allegedly being absent without leave for 102 days while serving as a public service worker, has expressed his intention to re-enlist. This prompted a cold analysis from the legal community.

On the 28th, lawyer Lee Seungjae appeared on the Youtube channel 'Enterainment President Lee Jinho' and analyzed Song Mino's strategy for trial and his possible next steps. Regarding Song Mino quickly admitting to the charges, the lawyer said, "Since the facts, including KakaoTalk messages and witness statements, are very clear, he likely judged that denying them could've been disadvantageous for his sentencing."

In particular, regarding Song Mino's widely discussed statement about his willingness to re-enlist, he explained, "Re-serving for the period of absence is a standard procedure by the Military Service Act," and pointed out that it's 'less a personal choice and more a legal obligation.' Under current law, if someone is absent from duty for more than eight days and becomes subject to criminal punishment, their discharge is canceled and they must re-serve the unfulfilled period. He added, "The only way to avoid this is to serve a prison sentence of at least 1 year and 6 months," suggesting that the statement Song Mino made may be a strategic move to show remorse and seek leniency.

Song Mino began his alternative service in March 2023 but was indicted for leaving his workplace without valid reason for a total of 102 days between May and December of that year. At the first hearing held on the 21st, the prosecution requested a sentence of 1 year and 6 months in prison. In his final statement, Song Mino said, "If given the opportunity, I want to complete my service faithfully."

Legal experts believe that if Song Mino is found guilty and required to re-enlist, he is highly likely to be reassigned to an institution with a much stricter environment due to public scrutiny. Attention is now focused on the court's final sentencing and whether he can restore his damaged image by re-enlisting.

Lee Kwangsoo: "I got a real gold tooth with my own money for this project ... I should be reimbursed"

SOURCE: 이광수 “작품 위해 사비로 금니 했다…지금 시세로 정산해야” (컬투쇼)

Actor Lee Kwangsoo revealed that he actually got a real gold tooth for his role in a project.

On the broadcast of SBS PowerFM's 'Cultwo Show' on the 29th, Park Boyoung appeared as a special DJ while Lee Kwangsoo and Director Kim Sunghoon, who worked together on the Disney+ 'Gold Land' joined as guests.

On this broadcast, Park Boyoung said, "Because the makeup process would take a long time, Kwangsoo Oppa actually got a real gold tooth. The director even told him not to show it anywhere. So when he received an award in the middle of filming, he covered his mouth during the acceptance speech so it wouldn't be seen."

She continued, "One day, during promotions, the director seemed like he was running out of things to say, so he asked Kwangsoo Oppa to show his tooth. He basically spoiled the show himself," adding, "That was the first time the gold tooth was revealed. Thanks to that, a lot of people became curious and started wondering what kind of project it was."

When host Kim Taegyun asked, "So you paid for it yourself? It wasn't covered by the production budget?" Lee Kwangsoo laughed and replied, "I didn't specifically say I'd pay for it myself. They told me to get it, so I did. I still haven't been reimbursed yet. I'm still chasing down the money for that missing gold tooth."

Additionally, when Kim Taegyun asked, "Would you be paid based on the price at the time or the current price?" Lee Kwangsoo joked, "I think I should be paid at today's rate."

In response, Director Kim Sunghoon said, "It'll be settled soon," to which Lee Kwangsoo replied, "You've been settling it for over a year," drawing laughter.

Meanwhile, 'Gold Land' is a survival thriller about Heejoo (played by Park Boyoung) who gets her hands on 150 billion KRW worth of smuggled golds and fights to claim it all amid a chaotic world of greed and betrayal. The show will begin releasing the first two episodes on the 29th, with two new episodes dropping each week.

I heard it's been in preparation since the second half of last year. I just finished filming an unreleased drama a month ago. There were also promotional schedules in between. I felt it would be difficult to participate in IOI's activities, so I thought it was best to convey my decision to the members."

However, she emphasized that she is still very close with the members, saying, "We're actually so close that we already know we're supporting one another. Even just a single like on social media makes me feel that they're watching and rooting for me. The members also leave comments on my posts, which I'm so grateful for, and I support them as well. If the timing works, I'd like to make a surprise visit to IOI's practice, but since I don't know any details, that might be difficult."

Many IOI's members are also active as actresses, including Kim Sejeong, Jung Chaeyeon, Kim Doyeon, and Kim Sohye. When asked if she discusses acting with these fellow members, she laughed and said, "We don't really talk about acting. When we meet, we usually talk about things like, 'How is your diet?', 'I heard this place is good,' or 'There's a nice wine bar. Let's go there together.'"

Having debuted in 2016, Kang Mina is now marking her 10th year in the entertainment industry. She said, "What I've felt most this year is wondering whether I can proudly say that I'm in my 10th year since debut. I'm not confident yet, but I'm trying to become an actress worthy of that milestone. I've looked back on the past often, but now I think more about how I should move forward."

Kang Mina also described 'If Wishes Could Kill' as a project that could be a turning point in her career, saying, "It doesn't feel real yet, but I'm very grateful that many people have watched it since its release. I think it could be a turning point for me. Those who like shamanism, horror, or gore genres will most likely enjoy this show. It's a project that feels like unraveling something ambiguous like a game where you're confused about what is real and what isn't."

Reflecting on her acting career, Kang Mina said, "Acting is very difficult and I constantly hit walls. I often feel unsure about my acting performance and I just kind of wing it while saying 'I don't know.' But when something deep inside me comes out unexpectedly, I feel a sense of achievement and charm. When I talk about my projects with such affection in interviews like this, I realize that I truly love acting. I believe I have filmed every single project with love."

What's happening with Danielle's 43 billion KRW lawsuit? ... ADOR's entire legal team resigns

SOURCE: 다니엘 430억 손배소에 무슨 일…어도어 변호인단 전원 사임

The legal team representing ADOR, which filed a damages lawsuit worth 43 billion KRW against former NewJeans' member Danielle, her family, and former ADOR CEO Min Heejin (now CEO of OOAK Records), has stepped down.

According to the legal community on the 29th, all five attorneys from Kim & Chang Law Firm who had been representing ADOR submitted their resignations to the court on the 24th.

It has been reported that the resignation is a measure taken by ADOR to handle the ongoing lawsuit more efficiently.

The resignation took place following the preparatory hearing for the damage lawsuit filed by ADOR against Danielle's side and former CEO Min Heejin held on the 26th of last month.

At the time, both sides showed sharp disagreement over the potential prolonging of the case. Danielle's side argued that ADOR was delaying proceedings by requesting for extensions, stating, "Danielle is an idol. If the lawsuit is prolonged, she will inevitably suffer damages. This is the most important period of her career."

In response, ADOR argued that they needed additional review time due to the complexity of the issues, stating, "This is not a lawsuit that determines whether the defendant can continue entertainment activities or not. She can decide on and carry out entertainment activities herself."

ADOR had requested a delay of the hearing schedule, but the court rejected it. The first formal hearing is set for May 14.

ADOR filed the damages lawsuit in last December, along with the termination of Danielle's exclusive contract. At the time ADOR stated, "We intend to hold a family member of Danielle and former CEO Min Heejin legally responsible, as they are responsible for causing this conflict and delayed the return of NewJeans."

Regarding the JTBC's 'Crime Chief' episode that sparked the issue, A stated, "It was a one-sided report that did not sufficiently reflect the facts," adding that the video has been deleted and the show admitted their error.

Additionally, A also revealed that lawsuits against the informant and related individuals are scheduled to begin in May, and that she has filed over 100 complaints against malicious comments and posts. Following the broadcast, speculation spread online that the individual in question was participant A from 'Match to Marry,' to which A responded by denying the allegations, calling them 'exaggerated and distorted.'

As the controversy grew, the production team of 'Match to Marry' edited out A's footage, effectively removing her from the show.

SOURCE: SM, '탈덕수용소' 손배 승소…총 1억 7천만원 배상 판결

SM Entertainment has won a civil lawsuit against the person behind Sojang.

On the 22nd, the Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of SM in the damage claim lawsuit they filed against Sojang, ordering the defendant to pay a total of 170 million KRW in damages.

This amount includes compensation for both the agency and its artists (Aespa, EXO, and Red Velvet). Specifically, the 130 million KRW is to be paid to the artists and 30 million KRW to the agency.

The court recognized Sojang's liability for damages, stating that videos posted on the channel negatively affected public perception of Aespa, EXO, and Red Velvet.

The court also recognized damages to the agency, ruling that 'the image and public reputation of artists are core assests of the company,' and that the contents posted on the channels caused 'substantial disruption to business operations.'

Sojang had previously lost damage lawsuits filed by IVE's Jang Wonyoung, BTS' V, and Jungkook. In those cases, the court also ordered the defendant to pay tens of millions KRW in damages.

The criminal case has also been finalized. In January, the Supereme Court upheld the original verdict against Sojang for charges including defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act. The court ordered a sentence of 2 years in prison, suspended for 3 years, along with a forfeiture of 211.42 million KRW.

Sojang is an infamous 'cyber wrecker' channel that spread rumors about celebrities from October 2021 to June 2023.

"A sasaeng came right to my front door" ... Soyou moving out of her 'monthly rent of 1300 million KRW' home in Hannam-dong after 6 years

SOURCE: "사생팬이 집 앞까지"…소유, 6년 만에 '월세 1300만 원' 한남동 집 떠난다 [RE:뷰]

Singer Soyou honestly shared the reasons why she decided to leave the home she had lived in for six years.

On the 24th, a video showing Lee Changsub visiting a close friend's house to help with cleaning was posted on his official Youtube channel. The homeowner was Soyou, who said she had been postponing organizing her place due to her busy schedule. She revealed her residence in Hannam-dong, where she has lived for the past six years, and shared that she is preparing to move out.

The house is a luxury residence with a monthly rent of 13 million KRW. Soyou explained, "I lived here for six years with a full year's rent paid upfront." When Lee Changsub handed her beer as a housewarming gift, she joked, "I don't like increasing the amount of stuff I own," showing their close friendship chemistry.

Soyou confessed, "I originally planned to live here until I got married." However, she added that she changed her mind recently, "I think just dating is enough. I wonder if I really need to go as far as getting married," expressing her honest views on not getting married. She explained that since her marriage plans diappeared, there was less reason to maintain such an expensive home.

Soyou recalled, "This place is famous for its view overlooking the Ministry of National Defense and its strict security. Most residents here are foreign embassy staff. They are very selective here, even with celebrities. It felt strange at first, but I was satisfied living here because it was so well-managed."

However, despite the tight security, something unexpected occured. Soyou shared, "Recently, a Saseng came right up to my front door," and added, "I've been traumatized since then. So, I have no intention of revealing the location of my new home," drawing symphathy from viewers.

Soyou debuted in 2010 as a member of SISTAR and gained major popularity with hit songs like 'Alone' and 'Give It To Me.' After the group disbanded in 2017, she transitioned into a solo artist and became a strong digital chart performer with songs like 'Some' and 'I Miss You.'

Cleared of prostitution allegations, Joo Haknyeon spotted attending THE BOYZ's concert ... First appearance since departure

SOURCE: '성매매 무혐의' 주학년, 더보이즈 콘서트 관람 포착…탈퇴 후 첫 등장

Joo Haknyeon, formerly of THE BOYZ, was spotted at the group's concert for the first time since his departure.

On the 26th, Joo Haknyeon posted a single picture on his social media account without any caption.

The picture showed the stage of THE BOYZ's concert 'Interjection,' held at KSPO Dome in Songpa-gu, Seoul. The concert took place over three days, from the 24th to the 26th.

The picture appears to have been taken from the audience seats, showing the members performing on stage.

At the same time, eyewitness accounts spread across online communities and social media claiming that Joo Haknyeon attended the event. It was reported that he watched the performance quietly while covering his face with a hat.

Last May, Joo Haknyeon was embroiled in controversy after news of a private meeting with Japanese AV actress Kirara Asuka surfaced. His exclusive contract wit his agency was terminated and he left the group.

At the time, additional allegations of prostitution were raised, but Joo Haknyeon strongly denied them.

Regarding the case, the Seoul Gangnam Police Station decided not to forward the case to prosecutors, judging that there were insufficient grounds to start an investigation.

As Joo Haknyeon, who hadn't been active since the controversy, was spotted at the concert venue, interest is grouwing regarding his recent whereabouts and future plans.

'Fall seven times, stand up eight' Ahn Hyoseop: "You never know where opportunities will come from" ... From being rejected by JYP Entertainment to 'K-pop Demon Hunters'

SOURCE: ‘7전8기’ 안효섭 “기회는 어디서 올지 몰라”…JYP 탈락에서 케데헌까지

Actor Ahn Hyoseop shared how he kept challenging himself despite repeated setbacks, such as failing to debut as an idol and his low appearance fees, before eventually finding his path as an actor.

In the video released on the Youtube channel 'Fairy Jaehyung' on the 26th, Ahn Hyoseop shared a life lesson that helped him rise again after continuous failures, "Everything is connected. All the effort and those processes were precious just as I believed they would be."

Having spent his school years in Canada, he dreamed of becoming an idol and spent several years training under JYP Entertainment, but his debut plans ultimately fell through. He recalled, "I thought I could manage singing somehow, but dancing was too difficult," and added, "For the first time, I cried during a phone call with my parents and said 'Dad, I'm sorry,' because he had sent me there believing in me."

He continued, "For about four or five years after my debut as an actor, I hated talking about this. It felt like a stain on my life. Looking back now, it was an incredibly precious and meaningful experience, but that's how I felt back then."

However, pursuing acting wasn't easy either. Ahn Hyoseop explained, "At first, my Korean pronunciation was awkward and my acting wasn't good. I even attended a voice acting academy to relearn everything from the basics."

He explained that the reason he appeared in four dramas in just one year wasn't because of his skill, but rather his low fee at the time. Ahn Hyoseop shared, "My fee was cheap back then. My first fee was 500,000 KRW per episode. It barely covered labor costs, but I felt more grateful than anything else at the time."

Regarding his involvement in 'K-pop Demon Hunters,' which sparked a global K-pop craze, he said, "Director Maggie Kang said she held so many auditions for the voice actors. She apparently auditioned a lot of people for Jinwoo's role and was feeling stuck. But she happened to watch 'Business Proposal' and liked what she saw there."

He added, "Honestly, I didn't expect 'K-pop Demon Hunters' to become this successful. I thought it would be fun, of course. It made me realize I should stay humble and keep working hard in everything I do. I truly felt that you never know where opportunities might come from," sharing the lesson he learned after so many setbacks.
