'34 y.o.' Soyou declares she's 'giving up on marriage' ..."I planned to freeze my eggs, but now I don't even want to have kids"

Soyou opened up about her thoughts on marriage.

On the 10th, a video titled, 'Started giving advice to Soyou... but got counter-attacked' was posted on the Youtube channel 'Alddal Cham.'

In the video, Heo Kyungwan responded to Soyou's comment about giving up on marriage by saying, "As an Oppa, I'm against that."

He said, "The happiest time in my life was when I was 35. I felt everything was perfect. I didn't feel behind because of my age and I was so full of energy. Age doesn't matter for women. Honestly, you can do more bench press more than I can."

In response, Soyou replied, "It's not like I decided to not get married. My life goal was never to be a top star singer or the Beyoncé of South Korea. My dream was to become a good wife and mother." She continued, "Since I was young, I dreamed of a happy family. I wanted to have the smell of soybean paste stew ready when the family came home, having the kids calling 'Mom' as we ate, and just do housework and raise kids. But during COVID, I saw little kids saying things like 'We don't have masks,' and that made me realize I didn't want to bring children into a world like this."

She added, "I originally wanted to have kids early, so I planned to get my body in the best shape and freeze my eggs by the time I turned 30. But I later found out that it doesn't just end there, you have to give yourself shots in the stomach every day. I have a severe phobia of needles, so if I had to inject myself every day, I just couldn't do it."

Soyou stated, "If I'm not going to have kids, then why get married? Once I stopped wanting kids, the thought of marriage disappeared too." Sitting next to her, Heo Kyunghwan joked, "I've seen lots of people, both men an women, say things like that, but then they get married out of the blue."

Soyou clarified, "It's not that I don't want to get married. I just don't really think about it. But I do want to date."

On the 26th, a video titled, 'You're asking Soyou what kind of self-care she does? Let me tell you everything," was posted to her Youtube channel 'SOYUGI.'

On this day, Soyou said, "A lot of people have been asking me how do I take care of my skin and boy," and went on to reveal her self-care methods.

She explained that she started focusing on self-care in October 2024, saying, "I was going to a dermatology clinic when they told me this. Since I was 25, I have consistently received a lifting treatment once a year," adding, "Since early last year, I've been getting skin treatments once a month. I always get the toning treatment."

She continued, "After I lost weight, there were rumors that I had plastic surgery. At the time, my doctor even asked, 'Why don't you sue them?'" She then laughed, "The doctor sees my face once a month, so she knows the whole story (of how my face has changed)."

Regarding how her face shape changed, Soyou shared, "I currently weigh 49kg. My heaviest weight before diet was 68kg." She added with a laugh, "Everyone thinks I lost about 10kg, but actually, I lost 20kg. If you lose that much, would your face shape change or not?"

She explained, "The reason why I didn't tell people that I weighed 68kg was because I felt so ashamed of myself." She added, "I was shocked and worked really hard to lose weight. Last April, I was stuck between 54kg and 56kg, I couldn't lose more. After thinking about it, I decided to reduce my muscle mass and did more cardio. As my muscle mass start decreasing, my weight finally started to go down." She also noted, "In the past, I can lose weight in whichever part I wanted. But now, consistent care is a must," as she recommended beauty devices.

I was on the same flight. Soyou was heavily intoxicated. She said she wouldn't eat because she was too tired. I heard the staff telling her that she shouldn't board the flight while drunk. It's wrong for her to claim that she was treated unjustly or that it was racial discrimination... As a Korean and as a fan, I was honestly very embarrassed at that moment. I felt very awkward toward the flight attendants as well.

After finishing my schedule in New York, I boarded a connecting flight from Atlanta to Korea. 

I was very tired and requested to speak with a Korean crew member to check the meal schedule. However, the purser judged my attitude and treated me like I was a problematic passenger, even calling security. 

I even had to say, "If I'm the problem, I'll get off." After that, I had to endure cold treatment and glares for the entire 15-hour flight. At that moment, I wondered, "Is this racial discrimination?" I couldn't eat anything for the entire flight and the experience left a deep scar caused by racial bias. 

I hope no one else ever has to be doubted or humiliated because of their race.

I just got off a call with Delta because I had a question about a reservation.
It was for a Delta One seat on the same DELTA DL27 flight Soyou took. I mentioned that as a Gold Medallion member. I told them I was worried about flying on October 17th because a celebrity claimed she was discriminated against on that flight. They checked and said there were no incident reports, claims, or statements filed.
Honestly, if you paid that much money and didn’t get to eat or were mistreated, you’d definitely file a claim for an apology or compensation. Maybe her agency will handle it, but still.
