Jang Hyunseung apologizes for attitude controversy ... 'I was possessed by an evil spirit ... I've been exorcised now"

On the 15th, a video titled 'Jang Hyunseung's life update after exorcising an evil spirit (ft. Exorcist Jaejae)' was posted to the Youtube channel MMTG.

Jang Hyunseung has recently been actively communicating with fans through a fan platform. When Jaejae revealed photos of him from the time of his past attitude controversy, he expressed disgust at himself, saying, "I was so immature back then. Did I really post that with my own hands? Why did I post that?" Jaejae responded, "I think that could happen to anyone," to which Jang Hyunseung firmly replied, "No, it couldn't."

After leaving BEAST due to attitude controversy and then enlisting in the military, Jang Hyunseung surprised everyone with his recent clearer-eyed look, having shed of his perviously gloomy image. Jaejae asked, "Your eyes look so clear now. What happened in the military that got you exorcised?" Jang Hyunseung explained, "Once you go there, you naturally become a good person. Since I enlisted late, even if I couldn't be the best, I didn't want to be a burden to anyone."

Jaejae said, "People said you didn't just change 180 degrees, but 720 degrees. Do you think your current self is closer to your true self than when you were possessed? Would you say you’re fully exorcised now?" Jang Hyunseung agreed, saying, "I think so."

The preview then showed Jang Hyunseung personally apologizing for eyewitness accounts from his possessed days. He expressed shame over footage of himself at a fan-signing event where he replied 'Yes' bluntly when asked if he was tired and 'My head hurts' when asked if he was sick. Jang Hyunseung apologized belatedly, saying, "I was rude," and "I caused pain to people."

1. [+561][-11] Does everyone get exorcised after breaking up with Hyuna?

2. [+538][-16] It should’ve been him, not Seungri.

3. [+308][-7] This is freaking hilariousㅋㅋㅋㅋ

770,000 KRW per night ... Accommodation prices in Busan jump more than 10 times, again, as soon as BTS concert was announce

Following news that BTS will hold a concert in Busan this June, some local accommodations have set unreasonably high prices during the concert period. In Busan, overcharging by certain businesses ha repeatedly become an issue whenever large-scale concerts or major events are held. However, this time, the phenomenon is being observed across the entire city because the specific concert venue has not yet been announced. Although Busan Metropolitan Government is aware of this problem that recurs every year, they have not been able to take active measures, stating, "There is no way to prevent private businesses from setting their own prices."

According to industry sources on the 15th, accommodation prices for June 12 and 13, when the BTS concert will be held, have skyrocketed. One establishment in Dongnae-gu, a room that cost 68,000 KRW on June 10 jumped to 769,000 KRW on June 12 and 13. Another establishment in Gijang-gun, a room that cost 98,000 KRW on June 10 rose to 502,000 KRW on June 12 and 431,000 KRW on June 13. In the Seomyeon area of Bujeon-dong, Busanjin-gu, an accommodation that cost 300,000 KRW on June 11 raised its price to 932,000 KRW the following day.

This is not the first time accommodation overcharging has become a problem in Busan. When BTS held a concert in the city to support Busan's bid to host the World Expo in 2022, room rates in areas near the venue skyrocketed. Similarly, complaints have also surfaced during the Busan Fireworks Festival at Gwangalli Beach in Suyeong District. Tourists voiced their frustration over the overcharging on social media.

Perhaps due to these controversies, President Lee Jaemyung ordered officials to come up with measures against overcharging and emphasized the need to revitalize local tourism. At the time, the president said, "Overcharging causes more harm to the surrounding areas than people might think. We need to study the issue and come up with solutions."

Despite the recurrence, Busan Metropolitan Government has yet to come up with an effective solution. The reason is that they can't intervene in the pricing decisions made by private businesses. Director of Busan's Tourism and MICE Bureau, Na Yoonbin, said, "Since there is essentially no way to penalize these businesses, we plan to visit local district offices, tourism associations, and individual businesses to provide guidances. We expect that this will be able to curb the overcharging to some extent."

1. [+401][-2] ARMYs, for 770,000 KRW you might as well take a taxi to Seoul. You'll still even have money left!!!!!

2. [+302][-2] What is Park Hyungjoon doing? We elected the most incompetent mayor ever in the history. What did we expect? These people have no self-sufficiency. They just show their beggar mentality and try to make easy money the moment they hear BTS is coming. That's why they will never succeed no matter what they do.

3. [+237][-8] Don't be stupid. Just don't go there.

Kian84 prevented any harm to staff until the very end ... "I filmed while taking medication for panic disorder"

While at Busan Tower, Kian84 and Tamang admired the panoramic view of the city. He recalled the Hillary Bridge they had visited together during the filming of 'Adventure by Accident.'

He said, "That place was much scarier than this (Busan Tower). When crossing that bridge, the staff all had to cross as well, so I couldn't just back out. I took medication for my panic disorder and crossed it."

He continued, "The railings were so low, it made me anxious. I was afraid I'd have a panic attack if I looked to the side, so I kept my eyes on the ground the whole way. I really felt like I couldn't cross it, but I did."

She added, "I think she felt a bit awkward because I was just taking the hits without fighting back. In the end, she even took my hand and said, 'You hit me too.' Although I'm talking about it while smiling now, it became a huge trauma for me. I became afraid to even walk around alone and found it hard to trust people," drawing sympathy from the audience.

SOURCE: 김혜윤, 200명 배우들 중 나홀로 니체 대사 이해→'스카이 캐슬' 합격 ('유퀴즈')

On the episode of tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block that aired on the 14th, Kim Hyeyoon made a guest appearance.

After 7 years as an unknown actress, Kim Hyeyoon beat out an intense competition with a ratio of 200 to 1 to pass the audition for 'SKY Castle.' She recalled that she remembered the audition vividly, saying, "I went with the mindset of ''Well, I'm gonna get rejected again today.'"

She continued, "There were so many beautiful and stunning people there. Bora Unnie was one of them. I remember thinking, 'She's a real celebrity,' as I entered the audition room."

She went on to explain, "There is something called 'same-day lines.' It's the script given to you right on the spot. Usually, it's not that long but that day, it was about 7 pages long. The scene was about Yeseo talking about Nietzsche's concept of freedom. They gave us a long script filled with difficult vocabulary."

Because the person before her took a longer time, Kim Hyeyoon ended up having a little more time to prepare. She thought to herself, "Let's at least understand what these words mean before I say the lines," and started searching frantically on her phone. She looked up what Yeseo meant to say and went into the audition. She said, "I thought, 'I'm gonna get rejected again,' but I passed. Later, when I asked the director why I was cast, he replied, 'You were the only one who actually understood what Yeseo's lines.'"

Former 4Minute member Heo Gayoon breaks down in tears while sorting her late brother's belongings: "He worked nonstop and suddenly passed away ... It changed my life"

On the 14th, a Youtube channel called 'Sebasi Lecture' released a video titled: 'He didn't even get to unbox some things ... Story of how I broke down in tears while sorting my late brother's belongings: Heo Gayoon, singer and the author of 'I Became Most Like Myself in the Strangest Sea'

Heo Gayoon recalled, "My mom called me at the crack of dawn. She told me my brother had suddenly passed away. He worked at a medical company and was incredibly busy with work. He always used to say that once he saved enough money, he wanted to 'live independently' and 'go on a trip.'"

Heo Gayoon lost her brother in 2020. At the time, it was reported that her brother passed away after his condition worsened due to a battle with a chronic illness.

She continued, "It hadn't been long since he had moved out on his own. While sorting through his belongings at his place, his words kept coming back to me. It was so heartbreaking and tragic that he ended up like this after doing nothing but work, without being able to do the things he truly wanted. It hurt even more because all his appliances were brand new. He probably didn't know this would happen. If he had known, he wouldn't have been so frugal or said 'next time' or 'later.' I wondered how regretful he must've felt. So many thoughts went through my mind."

At that time, she fell into the thought that 'life is so empty,' which became the reason she left for Bali.

She said, "The thought of, 'Even if I die tomorrow, I want to live without regrets. I want to do what I want right away, without putting it off' is what allowed me to go to Bali. There, I ate everything I wanted without worrying about others. When I lived in South Korea, I had never even had a coffee at a cafe by myself. I was always afraid of doing things alone, but for the first time, I ate a meal with a bare face and in a tracksuit. It made me so happy." She shared that because of this, her eating disorder disappeared and her mind became more at ease.

Closing her talk, she stated, "I sometimes feel anxious because I don't earn as much money as before and don't have a guaranteed future. But rather than pushing myself to chase something unattainable, I'm living while protecting my daily life." She added, "I hope we all live a life without regrets, no matter what happens tomorrow. Please always take care of your health and enjoy the small happiness in everyday life."

Meanwhile, Heo Gayoon debuted with 4Minute in 2009 and has been active as an actress since the group disbanded in 2016.She recently drew attention by sharing updates about her life in Bali and has published an essay titled 'I Became Most Like Myself in the Strangest Sea.'

1. [+383][-7] When someone suddenly loses a family member, their perspective usually changes. Before losing a family member, I used to think friends and coworkers were important. But after that, family became my top priority. Friends and colleagues are nice to have around, but it’s okay if they aren’t. Except in really bad cases, the people who will stay by your side are ultimately only your family.

2. [+346][-7] In this world, family and health truly come first… Money comes after that. How could money be more important than your life and your family? We work and earn money to live, not to die. I hope he rests in peace. I pray that God’s comfort will be with Heo Gayoon and her family.

3. [+274][-8] I hope you always be happy and only have joyful times from now on… Fighting

Mother who stole exam papers to make her daughter rank 1st in school sentenced to 4.5 years in prison despite 100 million KRW deposit

A parent and a contract teacher who broke into a high school to steal exam papers for several years have been sentenced to prison.

Contract teacher receives similar sentence ... Teenage daughter given a suspended sentence of 2 years

According to legal sources on the 14th, the court sentenced A (a mother in her 40s) to 4 years and 6 months and B (a teacher in his 30s) to 5 years in prison on charges of aggravated theft and trespassing, alongside forfeiture of 31.5 million KRW.

The court also sentenced C (the head of school administrative office in his 30s) to 1 year and 6 months in prison for aiding the crimes. D (A's daughter), who was charged with obstruction of business by memorizing questions and answers despite knowing they were stolen, was sentenced to 1 year in prison with a 2-year suspension.

A was brought for trial for allegedly worked together with B, who had previously been her daughter's homeroom teacher, to break into a high school in Andong, North Gyeongsang Province, where her daughter was enrolled, to steal exam papers.

They reportedly broke into the school premises 11 times in total and stole midterm and final exam papers on 7 separate occasions.

During this process, B received a total of 31.5 million KRW from A over 16 transactions. It was found that D used the leaked exam papers to study in advance, allowing her to never lost her rank as the #1 student in her school.

THe crimes were discovered on July 4 of last year during the finals week when a private security alarm was triggered.

Court: "This has caused deep discouragement to students who had worked diligently and honestly"

Prosecutors had requested sentences of 8 years in prison for A and 7 years in prison for B, alongside forfeiture of 31.5 million KRW. They also requested sentences of 3 years in prison for C, and a sentence of 2-3 years for D.

The court noted, "This is a serious incident that fundamentally undermined trust in education. The defendants violated the students' right to learn and their opportunity to be evaluated fairly. This has caused deep frustration and anger among students and parents who worked hard for entrance exams, and also damaged the professional pride of many faculty members who work with a sense of duty."

The court further stated, "Defendant A even destroyed her phone, which was one of the evidences. The faculty members of the school are petitioning for severe punishment."

However, the court explained the factors behind the sentences, saying, "The teachers and others involved have confessed to their crimes, and the parent deposited 100 million KRW for the school."

1. [+1,468][-10] A classic case of parents ruining their child's future

2. [+1,215][-13] The daughter can now forget about working at public enterprises or becoming a civil servant now... Since she has a criminal record.

3. [+1,083][-10] This kind of parent is the ultimate evil to the society... Not to mention that she has completely wrecked her own family.

4. [+58][-0] Turning her own child into a criminal because of her own greed... Seriously, what do you gain from raising your child like this??? Do you think your daughter will be devoted to you for the rest of her life?? Tsk tsk

5. [+49][-0] This is a representative case of parental love going in the wrong direction. I hope this becomes a cautionary example for parents who believe they should do absolutely anything for their child.

Kim Hyeyoon: "From severe verbal abuse, frostbite, even to losing fingernails" ... Confessing the hardship of 7 years as an unknown actress

On the episode of tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block that aired on the 14th, Kim Hyeyoon made a guest appearance and looked back on the days when she was an unknown actress.

Kim Hyeyoon shared that she struggled a lot on set when she was young, saying, "When it was time for my lines, the set would go completely silent. It was so terrifying that I'd get incredibly nervous. Because of that, I didn't actually act during 'full shots.' I didn't even know that I was supposed to.'

Yoo Jaesuk responded in empathy, saying, "The terminology is really hard. When they say, 'We're taking the bust (shot),' you're like 'What does that mean?' When they say, 'Try to support this here,' you're like 'What am I supposed to support?' There are a lot of terms like that on sets. For a high school student with no social experience, those terms must've felt very unfamiliar."

Kim Hyeyoon also shared, "When I was a rookie, I experienced very severe verbal abuse. There were many things said that can't even be aired on TV. I heard a lot of swearing on set." She continued, "Whenever something upsetting happened, I would cry alone in the car. But I realized if I thought, 'I got scolded so much. I'm losing my confidence,' I would become intimidated on set and wouldn't be able to do what I needed to do."

Talking about her 7 years as an unknown actress, she confessed, "I felt hopeless. I wondered if I was doing okay, and it was also hard to balance acting with my studies." During that time, she worked without an agency, saying, "When filming in deep in the mountains, I would use the bus provided for supporting actors to use or asked my father for help. Also, when it was cold, the staff would offer me a heater, but I felt I hadn't earned the right to use one yet, so I said I was fine. I ended up getting frostbite on my fingers because of that," shocking the audience.

1. [+126][-19] It must have been so hard for her. I want to give her some pats. I hope she only walks on flowery paths from now on💕💕💕💕💕

2. [+75][-14] I remember thinking, 'I have never seen a rookie who act this well.' I wonder what on earth were those people so unhappy about that they cursed at her?

3. [+49][-8] She's amazing. She looks delicate, but she actually has a very strong mind.

4. [+19][-0] Becoming a star and doing interviews like this only happens to maybe one person out of thousands, or even maybe tens of thousands... It seems like belittling and ignoring people has been normalized in that industry. It's a place where you'll get treated as less than human if you're just an unknown actor with no connections.

5. [+16][-7] I sincerely hope she continues to do well.
