Min Heejin proposes, "Bang Sihyuk, let's meet as creators" ... Press conference ends in just 5 minutes

SOURCE: 민희진 "방시혁, 창작의 자리서 만나자" 제안…5분 만에 회견 종료 (엑's 현장)[전문]

CEO of OOAK Records (and former CEO of ADOR) Min Heejin publicly proposed to HYBE to end all disputes.

On the 25th, after winning the first trial against HYBE in the lawsuit seeking payment for her shares, Min Heejin held a press conference in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

This day, Min Heejin started by greeting the reporters and shared, "Hello. The result of this lawsuit felt like comfort that has washed away the wounds of the past two years."

She continued, "I have decided to exchange the 25.6 billion KRW I won from the trial for another value," explaining the reason for the press conference. She added, "There is something I value much more than this large sum of money. Therefore, I would like to make a meaningful proposal to HYBE."

Min Heejin proposed, "I will give up the 25.6 billion KRW. In exchange, I propose that all ongoing lawsuits be immediately halted and that all disputes to be ended immediately." She emphasized that this decision is for the sake of NewJeans' members. She noted that this proposal includes ending all legal actions not only against herself, but also NewJeans' members, external partner companies, former ADOR employees, and the fans.

She added sadly, "I can no longer bear to watch the five members who should be happily standing on stage, standing in court instead."

She ten proposed, "HYBE and Chairman Bang Sihyuk. Let us now meet as creators, not in the courtroom."

Previously, on the 12th, the Seoul Central District Court dismissed the lawsuit HYBE had filed to seek confirmation of termination of the shareholder agreement with Min Heejin. In the separate lawsuit that Min Heejin had filed regarding the exercise of her 'put option,' the court ruled that HYBE must pay her approximately 25.5 billion KRW.

However, HYBE has appealed the ruling of the first trial, which means that the legal battle is expected to continue in a second trial. Although Min Heejin applied for seizure and collection orders against HYBE's claims (bank accounts), HYBE requested the court to pause the payment until the ruling is finalized. The court accepted HYBE's request, temporarily suspending the seizure process.

Below is the full statement by Min Heejin.

Hello, this is Min Heejin.

First of all, I would like to express my deep respect and gratitude to the court for examining the essence of this case over a long period of time and making a clear decision.

From winning the injunction in 2024 to the police clearing me in 2025, and now winning this first trial in 2-26, it has truly been a long tunnel.

The court showed the claims of 'taking over management' and 'tampering' were not true and recognized that the concerns I raised about creative ethics were part of my job as a CEO.

The result of this lawsuit felt like comfort that has washed away the wounds of the past two years. At the same time, I feel bad for the stress this unintentionally caused to the public.

Now, I want to pay back that debt with a new vision for K-pop.

The reason I stand here today is to announce that I have decided to exchange the 25.6 billion KRW I have won for another value.

Among all the reasons behind this decision, the most urgent one is because of NewJeans' members.Among all the reasons behind this decision, the most urgent one is because of NewJeans' members.

I will give up the 25.6 billion KRW. In exchange, I propose that all ongoing lawsuits be immediately halted and that all disputes to be ended immediately. This proposal includes ending all legal actions not only against myself, but also NewJeans' members, external partner companies, former ADOR employees, and the fans.

Only when all these lawsuits end will the noise stop for the artists, their families, and the fans.

I can no longer bear to watch the five members who should be happily standing on stage, standing in court instead. The members on stage must also be suffering. Neither the fans or anyone else can look at this situation with happiness. We can never create a good culture with hearts that are torn apart like this.

As I have said many times, there are values more important than money to me. Now that my sincerity has been confirmed, I want to show that there are values more precious than money in this world.

I hope this decision to exchange 25.6 billion KRW for another value will help the overall development and unity within the K-pop industry.

The place where HYBE and I should be is not a court, but a stage for creation.

I had a creative vision when I launched NewJeans. I'm very sad that I couldn't finish it, but because of that, I ask ADOR to keep the promise they made in court to 'treat NewJeans well if they return.'

Please create an environment where all five members of NewJeans can be together and freely pursue their dreams.

To me, 25.6 billion KRW is not more important than estoring a healthy K-pop ecosystem and the artists' peace.

Now, I hope we all do our best in our own ways to present better stages to fans.

I propose that we adults go back to competing through music and stage, not in court. The longer this fight goes on, the more the true protagonists of this industry, which is the artists, suffer.

HYBE and Chairman Bang Sihyuk. Let us now meet as creators, not in the courtroom. In a time when company responsibility is very important, including the July 2025 revision of the Commercial Act, choosing to resolve risks in the entertainment industry and to pursue unity would be the wisest management decisions for shareholders and fans.

I will now leave behind the title of 'Former CEO of ADOR' and walk a new path as 'CEO of OOAK Records.' I will put all my energy to nurture new artists and build a new business direction that represents the K-pop industry.

Thank you to the media for coming today. I hope there are no more tiring press conferences after this.

I will now meet you on a creative stage, not in a press conference or courtroom. I will focus on what I do best, which is creative work. I hope my sincerity today becomes a turning point for the entire K-pop industry to breathe healthily again.

Today, the KOSPI surpassed 6,000. I hope HYBE will think carefully and consider this proposal so we can all succeed together.

"HYBE betrayed Min Heejin first with media play" Court gives harsh criticism

SOURCE: [단독] "하이브, 언플로 먼저 민희진 배신" 재판부 작심 비판

HYBE has 'completely lost' in the shareholder agreement lawsuit against Min Heejin. The court rejected most of HYBE's claims and emphasized that HYBE was the one who damaged the trust first. Notably, the court also pointed out HYBE's aggressive media play, which has been constantly criticized by people in the industry.

According to the first trial verdict obtained by this paper on the 20th, the Seoul Central District Court stated that HYBE was the first to bring the conflict to the public. In other words, HYBE started the media play first.

■ “HYBE started media play first... HYBE is the one who broke the trust”

The court stated, "The protest emails sent by Min Heejin’s side on April 3 and April 16, 2024 showed that the conflict remained internal. However, HYBE’s exclusive news report on April 22, 2024 made the conflict completely public." They added, "Min Heejin’s press conference that was held that same day appears to be based on her right to defend herself."

The court also pointed out that the timing of HYBE's audit and the media reports overlapped. The court said, "On April 22, 2024, HYBE launched an audit for ADOR. They demanded Min Heejin to resign from the CEO position and began the process to fire her." They noted, "On the same day, an exclusive article was reported with the title 'HYBE Launches Sudden Audit on ADOR, the Agency of NewJeans.'"

The court continued, "Although HYBE claimed Min Heejin would have used NewJeans to sell ADOR shares at a low price and take the loss, there appears to be no evidence that HYBE had identified this in advance and taken proper action."

Most importantly, the court explicitly stated that the decline in HYBE's stock price was caused by their own excessive media play.

The court said, "HYBE's stock price dropped significantly (7.8%) on April 22, 2024. This decline seems to be the result of the conflict becoming public through the exclusive article and the heated battle that followed." They added, "In their breach-of-duty complaint, HYBE claimed a loss of 800 billion KRW in market value, which seems to reflect this stock trend."

■ “Nothing more than private talk without action” ... Claims of ‘management takeover’ and ‘stealing NewJeans’ claims all rejected

The court did not accept most of HYBE's arguments.

Regarding HYBE's claim that ‘Min Heejin tried to steal management rights,’ the court said, "It is true that she looked for ways to weaken HYBE's control over ADOR and to rule the agency independently. However, these were plans she made on the condition that her contract negotiations failed and assuming she had the owner's consent after exercising er 'put option' rights in 2025. The court ruled, "Simply looking for ways to make ADOR independent can not be seen as a serious violation of the shareholders' agreement."

The court also dismissed HYBE's claim that 'Min Heejin tried to steal NewJeans.' The court stated, "A director’s actions are within their management freedom, so she cannot be held responsible for damages to the company."

In other words, the court judged that the 'betrayal' HYBE claimed: 1. was just a casual conversation that wasn't put into action, 2. was only a hypothetical scenario based on HYBE's consent, and 3. that HYBE broke the trust by hastily launching an audit and leaking it to the media.

■ The truth behind the “ILLIT is a NewJeans copycat” controversy

Additionally, the court also judged Min Heejin's suspicion that 'ILLIT copied NewJeans' as a fair opinion. The court said, "Her claim wasn't about specific items, but that ILLIT's overall impression is similar to NewJeans. This is an expression of opinion or judgment, not a statement of fact."

The court also accepted Kakao Talk messages between BTS' V and Min Heejin as evidence. At the time, V reportedly said, "(People always talk about plagiarism, it never stops) Sigh... I know right. I also saw it and thought 'this looks similar...'" Furthermore, the court acknowledged that HYBE's Chairman, Bang Sihyuk, produced ILLIT's debut album.

■ “NewJeans value is 2 trillion KRW, same level as BLACKPINK” ... Recognition of Min Heejin’s achievements

The court even compared NewJeans to BLACKPINK, stating, "The only comparable girl group is BLACKPINK," and estimated that, "The fair value of ADOR within two years could reach 2 trillion KRW."

The court also noted, "Min Heejin's side had estimated ADOR's market value at 0.8 to 1.5 trillion KRW in early 2024. They compared NewJeans to BLACKPINK, noting that YG reached a peak market value of 1.8 trillion KRW because of BLACKPINK, before declining amid contract renewal risks. The 2 trillion KRW estimate assumes that the alliance between NewJeans, Min Heejin, and HYBE continues."

The court also accepted Min Heejin’s criticisms of HYBE as evidence.

During a meeting with HYBE on January 25, 2024, Min Heejin said, "If you have a conscience, stop exploiting them. Ever since NewJeans debuted, everyone inside and outside the company is copying them. PLEDIS, BELIFT Lab, everyone is all copying NewJeans." She added, "Former CEO Park Jiwon told me they're desperate to make a 'male NewJeans' and that I should make a boy group. In this situation, why would I be crazy enough to make a boy group when I know everything will be taken from me like this?"

Regarding this, the court quoted a document explaining why she was cleared of charges on breach of trust, mentioning that her actions were caused by resentment of semi-illegal practices, such as pushing high first-week album sales and copying between subsidiaries.

Because of this ruling, HYBE must pay Min Heejin and others 25.6 billion KRW for stock payments. On the other hand, all of HYBE's claims were dismissed. HYBE submitted an appeal on the 19th and is continuing to fight the court's decision.

Min Heejin meets with U.S. lawyers over 'HYBE reverse-viral lawsuit' ... "The pieces are coming together"

SOURCE: 민희진, ‘하이브 역바이럴 소송’ 미국 변호사 회동…“조각 맞춰지는 중”

Former ADOR CEO Min Heejin has met with a U.S. lawyer who is currently handling the lawsuit involving the American PR firm TAG PR.

On the 19th, Min Heejin posted on her social media, "I had a meeting in Seoul with the lawyers handling the TAG PR lawsuit in the U.S. Thank you so much for the great advice."

She continued, "I was able to hear firsthand how U.S. artists involved in the lawsuit are responding to TAG PR's actions. I am very grateful to receive detailed and meaningful advice. The pieces are coming together one by one. I think I'll have a story to share soon."

Previously, Min Heejin raised allegations that TAG PR, a former subsidiary of HYBE, had engaged in 'reverse-viral' activity against her. 'Reverse-viral' refers to activities aimed to create negative public opinion.

On YTN Radio's 'Kim Junwoo's News Showdown' last year, Min Heejin stated, "Ever since the dispute began, I felt there were strange signs from overseas. I wodndred, 'How do people abroad even know me? Why are they spreading this strange viral content?'

She continued, "Actually, before that, a Billboard reporter contacted me. They said, 'I received a tip. The content was so odd that I wanted to verify it with you personally." When I asked where it came from, they said it was from TAG PR, which shocked me. After that, I was even more surprised to hear that my name appeared in a complaint for another lawsuit in the U.S."

According to a report by Hankyoreh last December, U.S. PR firm Jonesworks and its founder, Stephanie Jones, filed a complaint in the U.S District Court for the Southern District of New York on December 8, naming the founder of TAG PR and others as defendants. In the complaint, they reportedly claim that the founders of TAG PR engaged in organized 'reverse-viral' campaigns to steal their clients.

In response, HYBE stated, "This is a unilateral claim made by a single party in a legal dispute that has nothing to do with HYBE or HYBE America," adding, "Neither HYBE or HYBE America has ever been involved in the matters stated in the complaint."

Meanwhile, Min Heejin parted ways with ADOR in November 2024 and established a new entertainment agency, OOAK.

Analyzing ATEEZ Hongjoong's lyrics, which seems targeting HYBE's reports and Bang Sihyuk

Should I be mad?

Not a single thing is fun (about this)

Act your age, you good-for-nothing

Just nod-nod, clap-clap (NB: Referring to a Korean nursery rhyme)

Why are you mad?

Do you think you're something special, hitman?

If you’ve got time to observe others, watch your own back

Du-du-du, bang

Life blinded by envy and jealousy

The way you curse while mentioning names

You'll be playing mind games all your life

You never work when it’s time to, you just keep getting mad later

Oh Gosh, it's so hot

Look at me fanning the flames, setting the remains of your house in fire, you old boomer

I know it's unfair

Yeah, yeah, that brand's muse is already me Yeah, yeah, your keyboard makes mе money Fame, yeah, don't bе too mad, I'm sorry Yeah, yeah, there's no way

theqoo

-Does he have anything to do with Bang Sihyuk too?

-This is f*cking hip-hop... 'Act your age, you good-for-nothing'ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-This is what hip-hop is.

-Oh, was his group mentioned in HYBE's report too?

-Ah... He mentioned 'Hitman' in the lyricsㅋㅋㅋ

-'Life blinded by envy and jealousy' << This is very accurate.

-I can hear BTS' fans freaking out from here.

-I'm a HYBE stan, but honestly, they deserve to be dissed even worse.

-Even if his group wasn't mentioned in HYBE's report, it's natural for him to be angry as he's also in the same industry.

-Hitman ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ And he also mentioned 'Bang' in the end. It's obvious he's attacking them.

-'Do you think you're something special, hitman?'~

-Wait... I didn't know he was this manlyㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-HYBE stans must be shaking in anger right nowㅋㅎㅋㅎ

-The lyrics are so good~^^

HYBE to introduce 'Face Pass' for audience's identity verification at concert venues starting next year

Starting with TWS' concert in February next year, HYBE will introduce a 'face recognition' entry system for their artists' performances.

HYBE announced today (23rd) that, starting next year, fans attending HYBE artists' concerts will be able to enter the venue easily using 'face pass,' which allows fans to enter the venue simply by using facial recognition.

HYBE explained that this system allows for faster entry as it replaces traditional ID and ticket checks for identity verification.

The 'face pass' system will be implemented for the first time at TWS' fan meeting, which will be held at the Olympic Park Handball Stadium in Songpa-gu, Seoul, from February 14th to 16th next year.

However, fans who do not wish to register their faces can still follow the traditional procedures, including ID and ticket checks, at designated booths at the venue.

HYBE COO Kim Taeho stated, “We aim to expand this service in the future, creating an enjoyable and convenient concert experience for fans worldwide.”

theqoo

-Bullshit. I'm not going to their concerts.

-Can it even identify faces properly? I doubt it...

-What gives a private company the right to collect my biometric data?

-Someone should report this to the Human Rights Commission. Forcing us to agree by making it a condition for attending concerts is a violation of the Personal Information Protection Act.

-Don’t do itㅡㅡ

-I thought they tried doing this before and received backlash for it? Why would anyone trust HYBE with their biometric data?

-Why do you need my biometric data...? This company is infamous for mishandling personal data. What makes them think people would trust them?ㅋㅋㅋ

-What is this? China?ㅋㅋㅋ

-Guess they want to receive more protest trucks next year.

-My bias isn't under HYBE, but if they start doing this, I'm not gonna go to their concerts.

-I’d rather not go. Just go to hell.

-Other agencies better not think about adopting this.

-What a bullshit... Are they Immigration checkpoints or what??

-I'm not going to their concert then. HYBE, wake up. Stop violating rights.

-This is straight out of China. SM better not adopt this.

-FYI, according to the announcement they made, they're gonna keep your data for a year.

-SM better not adopt this, seriously.

-If other agencies follow this, we’ll have to boycott them too.

Evidence of Big Hit (HYBE) manipulating the music charts (Sajaegi) exposed on another online community

[Big Hit] Request for Issuance of Tax Invoice

Hello, this is ㅇㅇㅇ from Big Hit Entertainment.

I am sending a copy of our business registration certificate as attached.

Please issue a tax invoice.

Thank you.

The KakaoTalk messages that the arrested CEO allegedly ordered an employee to post on Ilbe

Big Hit Director: It’s going to be until noon tomorrow.

CEO Lee: Okay, I'll try to extend the streaming count a bit more.

Big Hit Director: CEO Lee's teams are doing such a great job.

CEO Lee: No, it's not just us. Big Hit also manages things so well, so we work together really smoothly.

Big Hit Director: Anyway, let's talk tomorrowㅋ I just got home nowbn

CEO Lee: Yes, rest well~~^^

CEO Lee: ㅋㅋ It's number 2 on the chart^^ It's going really well. All the tracks are in the top 20.

Big Hit Director: Yeahㅋ This is like a blockbusterㅋ

CEO Lee: ㅎㅎ This is how it usually is. It's a game of timing.

Big Hit Director: Let's have a drink once it's finished. This week is going to be the busiest. I will call you once things settle down.

CEO Lee: Okay.

CEO Lee: Director-nim, the streaming will gradually be stoped starting tomorrow. But the ranking won’t drop drastically.

Big Hit Director: Okay~~

They only posted the text yesterday and they posted the evidence today.

By the way, this is a situation where the Sajaegi was already acknowledged in the ruling, and this person was an employee at the time, but they said they posted it because it doesn’t seem like a proper investigation is being carried out.

https://www.instiz.net/pt/7656173

theqoo

-But didn’t everyone already know about this? It's just that HYBE controls the media, so it didn’t become a big issue... I hope it gets more attention, though

-Wow, isn’t this a nationwide scam? Return the medals.

-Didn’t everyone already know about this, though?ㅋㅋ

-What song was it from that time? Was it 'I Need U'?

-So, the music chart rankings are all liesㅋㅋ

-A nationwide scam.

-I knew it. I never look at HYBE rankings anymoreㅋㅋ

-Either return the medals or disband.

-Ugh, what’s the point of revealing the evidence? The beneficiaries have already gained popularity and money, and will live their lives in comfortㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I just want to stop seeing their faces.

-They’re deceiving the whole country... A group with forced popularity.

-That company is amazing, they can cover everything up.

-But didn’t the person who revealed this yesterday also say that other major entertainment companies do this too? If you’re going to reveal it, reveal everything, let everyone know about it.

-So, everything was fake... What about the other artists who suffered from this? How unfair for them.

-I bet no articles will be published about this, but there will be more articles bashing New Jeans.

-There's already a court ruling, so what... Where can you find more accurate evidence than that?

-This was already mentioned in the rulingㅋㅋ

-Finally, the truth is coming out.

NewJeans' penalty fee reached 620 B KRW ... D-3 of final ultimatum, will they reunite with Min Heejin?

Sports Chosun | Journalist Baek Jieun

https://naver.me/F88zOqji

Will NewJeans and the former CEO of ADOR, Min Heejin, reunite?

According to the Fair Trade Commission’s standard exclusive contract template, the penalty fee for contract termination is calculated by multiplying the average monthly revenue of the previous two years by the remaining months of the contract. This penalty fee represents the agency's expected profit for the remaining contract period.

Financial Supervisory Service’s electronic disclosure system shows that ADOR’s revenue last year was 110.3 Billion KRW. With NewJeans having five years left on their contract, the industry estimates the penalty fee to be around 400 to 600 Billion won.

NewJeans has issued a final ultimatum to ADOR. On the 13th, the members sent a letter to ADOR demanding the reinstatement of former CEO Min Heejin, a thorough investigation into HYBE’s internal documents, strict measures regarding HYBE’s internal documents to be taken, and an official apology from the manager who told other artists to 'ignore' Hanni. They declared that if their demands were not met within two weeks, they would terminate their exclusive contract.

However, the chances of NewJeans’ demands being met are close to zero. It has already been confirmed by BELIFT Lab, ILLIT's agency, that unlike the accusation, no managers told ILLIT's members to 'ignore' Hanni, and former CEO Min resigned from her position as a director at ADOR on the 20th, making her return impossible.

As a result, NewJeans is likely to begin a contract dispute with HYBE. The members claim that Hanni greeted other artists and managers, only to overhear a manager instructing the artists to 'ignore her (Hanni)'. Additionally, an internal HYBE document reportedly included the phrase 'Start afresh without New (NewJeans)' which they argue indicates harassment. If these claims are proven to be true, it could be determined that HYBE is at fault, breaking the trust necessary for their relationship.

The deadline set by NewJeans is now just three days away. All eyes are on whether HYBE and NewJeans can reach a dramatic compromise.

theqoo

-Haboong-ah, don't even think about getting that money.

-Haboong-ie really had no shame.

-Out of topic, but the girls look so pretty in that picture.

-Wasn't HYBE the one at fault here? They were the ones who said they would start afresh without NewJeans.

-Even these trash articles cost money. They're throwing cash around like water with all this media play. I'm so sick of them.

-They really love money, but look at how poorly they handle things.

-HYBE should pay the penalty fee and terminate the contract.

-Haboong-ie... You are the one who should be compensating for the damages.

-Didn't HYBE previously claim NewJeans barely made any money? Now he's suddenly talking about 110 Billion KRW? Ridiculous.

-Looks like Haboong-ies need 600 Billion KRW to pay off their debtsㅋㅋㅋ

-Haboong-ie and their bullshitㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-Leave NewJeans alone.

-Just let go of NewJeans.

Min Heejin faces deadline to repay 3.9 Billion KRW she borrowed from Bang Sihyuk

Ten Asia | Journalist Lee Minkyung

Former ADOR CEO Min Heejin is expected to repay a loan of approximately 3.94 Billion KRW (including interest) to HYBE Chairman, Bang Sihyuk. As Min resigned from her position as ADOR's executive director on November 20, all business relations between Min and Bang ended, leading to the resolution of personal financial dealings between the two of them.

According to a report on the 21st, the debt owed by Min to Bang has roughly reached 3.94 Billion KRW as of the end of November. In March 2023, Bang personally lent Min 3.7 Billion KRW to purchase an 18% stake in ADOR. Contrary to some reports claiming that Min bought the stake for 1.1 Billion KRW, Min actually purchased 573,160 shares (18%) for 3.7 Billion KRW. While the nominal value of the shares was approximately 2.87 Billion KRW, the actual purchase price factored in the company's valuation, with the shares estimated to cost 6,700 won each. The full amount was borrowed from Bang.

theqoo

-Just pay what you owe Min Heejin. So pathetic.

-It's so obvious that they're trying to completely ruin a person.

-This is truly absurd.

-They could just deduct the 3.9 Billion KRW from the put option payoutㅋㅋ

-This is my first time seeing a company stubbornly refuse to pay their debt.

-They should just pay what they owe each otherㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-It's Ten f*cking Asia again...

-How did the journalist know about the money Bang personally lent to Min? Did HYBE leak that?ㅋㅋㅋ

-Why don’t you just pay Min Heejin what you owe? These people must've lost it.

-Can’t they just sell their shares?

-The two parties should just pay what they owe and settle this cleanly. Start by dealing with the put option.

-If it's her personal loan, she needs to pay it back...

-So she borrowed money from Bang to buy shares? That's interesting. In the end, borrowed money should be paid back.

-HYBE should just deduct the money they owe Min Heejin and give the rest~~~~~~ㅎㅎㅎ

HYBE’s Bang Sihyuk: “The Reason for K-Pop’s Global Success is ‘Collaboration’” ··· Mentions BTS, TXT, LE SSERAFIM

Sports Kyunghyang | Journalist Lee Sunmyung

https://sports.khan.co.kr/article/202411191549003?pt=nv

Bang Sihyuk, chairman of HYBE, was selected as someone who brought Asian culture to the world and hinted at future collaborations with various cultures.

Chairman Bang attended the Asia Game Changer Awards ceremony held on the 25th of last month (Korea time) in New York, USA, and delivered his acceptance speech.

The award is presented to those who have shone a global light on Asian content in fields such as journalism, music, film, and comedy. Although the ceremony was held on the 25th of last month, Chairman Bang’s acceptance speech was released on the 19th via a YouTube channel.

Delivering his speech in Korean, Chairman Bang said, “I've been collaborating with musicians from various cultural backgrounds since I was young. Through these experiences, I’ve learned to respect and understand the diversity of individuals and cultures. As a producer who experiments with various genres, and as the chairman of HYBE, which has bases in Korea, the U.S., Japan, and Latin America, I believe we can expect more creative and enriching musical outcomes when we combine differences"

He continued, “The reason Kpop music is loved worldwide is not only because of its universally relatable narratives but also because it combines the appealing elements from multiple genres. For example, BTS member Jungkook’s song ‘Seven’, which played as I walked in, was inspired by the UK garage genre and created in collaboration with the popular American artist Latto.”

He added, “LE SSERAFIM, a girl group under HYBE, released the song ‘Unforgiven’, which sampled Ennio Morricone’s ‘The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly’, and featured the legendary American guitarist Nile Rodgers. Additionally, our boy group Tomorrow X Together also collaborated with Brazilian artist Anitta last year on the song ‘Back for More’, which significantly increased the number of first-time listeners to our music.”

Chairman Bang concluded, “To introduce Kpop’s strengths to the U.S. and further to the global stage, we have been collaborating with Geffen Records, one of the top U.S. labels under Universal Music. As a result, the global girl group KATSEYE debuted this summer and has been achieving remarkable chart results in the global market.”

theqoo

-Where did your conscience go?

-Collaboration? You're being ridiculous. Ugh, so annoying.

-How about showing up to a hearing?

-Talking about 'rich musical achievements' when all he did was plagiarize and manipulate music chartsㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-When will we get to see those 'creative and rich musical achievements' you're talking about?

-Is his head filled with flowers, or is he just a psycho? What the heck is he doing?

-Is he still in the US? Is he not coming back to Korea? How long does he plan to dodge this matter?

-Stop talking bullshit and come back to Korea.

-I'm a fan of one of the groups he mentioned there. It's obvious that Bang Sihyuk doesn't care about his artists or their fans. If he knew about his current image, he wouldn't be mentioning the groups right now. How can someone be like that? It's not the artists, it's Bang's attitude that makes me want to quit being a fan. If you still have any conscience left, don't mention the groups anymore. I hate him so much. I really do. I hate him so much, I'm literally crying right nowㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-Your idols are suffering, receiving hate and backlash right now. What are you doing?

Rosé asked about NewJeans and HYBE in i-D magazine interview.

theqoo

-Why would they ask Rosé that? Seriouslyㅋㅋ

-I love NewJeans too.

-Why ask that to Rosé...

-That's right. Everyone, let's only talk about positive things.

-That's so out of nowhere.

-That's a very weird questionㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ But still, Rosé answered it nicely. She's so sweet.

-She answered that question very cleverlyㅋㅋ

-Foreign media probably ask about it because it's a big topic in Kpop.

-The interviewer probably asked because about it because it's related to Kpop, she handled the question really well.

-'She raises her eyebrows and shakes her head in a tiny motion.' <- Seems like Rosé found the question odd, tooㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-She responded to that dumb question with a wise answer. She's so lovely.

-Why ask Rosé...? She has nothing to do with the issue at all... She handled it very well, though.

-But it's also very strange to see everyone's shutting their mouths and pretending like this issue doesn't exist.

NewJeans sends notice to ADOR ... "We will terminate our contract if our demands are ignored"

Yeonhap News | Journalist Lee Taesoo

https://n.news.naver.com/mnews/article/001/0015043746?sid=103

On the 13th, girl group NewJeans issued a formal notice to their agency, ADOR, stating, “If our demands are not met, we will terminate the exclusive contract.”

This 'ADOR situation' began in April with an audit directed at the former CEO of ADOR, Min Heejin, and now increases the possibility of an exclusive contract dispute.

According to the music industry, the five members of NewJeans: Kim Minji, Hanni Pham, Danielle Marsh, Kang Haerin, and Lee Hyein, sent this notice under their real names.

In the formal notice, the members demanded that "all major contract violations be corrected within 14 days from the date of receipt of this letter."

The specific details of their demands have not been disclosed.

---

Date: November 13, 2024

To: ADOR, CEO Kim Joo-young.

From: Kim Minji, Hanni Pham, Danielle Marsh, Kang Haerin, Lee Hyein

Subject: Request for Correction of Exclusive Contract Violations

We wish ADOR continued success. Through this letter, we, the members of ADOR group, NewJeans—Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein (hereinafter referred to as 'NewJeans')—express our views and request that ADOR correct the violations of our exclusive contract as outlined below. Please correct all significant violations of the exclusive contract within 14 days of receipt of this letter (Article 15, Section 1 of the exclusive contract).

Below is a summary of the main issues regarding ADOR’s violations of the exclusive contract:

A. In response to HYBE’s decision that “New can be discarded, and a fresh start made,” we ask ADOR, as NewJeans' management company, to take all necessary measures. During a recent National Assembly audit, it was confirmed that a phrase in HYBE's internal Music Industry Reported stated, "We struggled with the 'New-A-Reu' (NewJeans, IVE, LE SSERAFIM) wording for days, but starting fresh without 'New' would be ideal.

---

NewJeans highlighted their concerns by stating, “HYBE’s decision to ‘discard New’ (referring to NewJeans) and start afresh should prompt ADOR, as our management company, to take all necessary actions.” They added, "During a recent National Assembly audit, it was confirmed that a phrase in HYBE's internal Music Industry Reported stated, "We struggled with the 'New-A-Reu' (NewJeans, IVE, LE SSERAFIM) wording for days, but starting fresh without 'New' would be ideal."

All five members signed the final page of the notice.

NewJeans stated, "If ADOR does not accept our demands for correction, we will proceed to terminate the exclusive contract." They added, "There are rumors involving NewJeans members' families and acquaintances that are groundless and have no connection to NewJeans."

The group also warned, “We will respond firmly to anyone spreading false rumors to defame NewJeans.”

theqoo

-NewJeans really held out for a long time… Fighting.

-Finallyㅜㅜ Let's escape HYBE.

-How many f*cking chances did they give already?ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ HYBE can go flop for all I care. NewJeans, fighting💖💖💖💖💖

-I'm rooting for NewJeans' safe escape from HYBE.

-If they want to survive, they need to live HYBE. How can they survive being under the same roof with that jealous pig.

-I'm so proud of NewJeans, fighting.

-I hope everything works out for NewJeans.

-NewJeans is too good to be buried under a trash company like HYBE.

-I still can't forgive HYBE for canceling their fanmeeting. Hurry up and leave that company.

-I'm rooting for every moves NewJeans take!!!

-Fighting, NewJeans! I'm cheering for your fresh start!

-Fighting, NewJeans. The public is on your side.

-Seems like things are going the way Min Heejin wanted after allㅠㅠ

-I hope things work out in NewJeans’ favor.

"HYBE claimed they would apologize to each agency mentioned in the document, but there have been no actions taken. It looks like they're trying to let this brush it off as it is a difficult issue to confirm."

The No. 1 Korean entertainment company in the domestic market, HYBE, has become an ugly duckling in the industry. K-pop fandoms and even other entertainment industry professionals have turned against them, but HYBE seems to be adopting a passive attitude, waiting for time to solve the problem rather than addressing it directly.

(Cont'd)

It's also clear that the agency officials mentioned in the document are uncomfortable with the issue. One official said, "It is beyond absurd and deeply disappointing to think that HYBE, the industry's number one company, created such a lowly document and shared it. Although HYBE said they would apologize to the agencies mentioned in the document, no action has been taken. It seems they are trying to brush it off because it's a difficult issue to confirm."

Another industry insider said, "The Kpop scene has been criticized for commercializing idols, and efforts made to create a better environment become meaningless after HYBE's document was released to the public. The fact that it was shared for a long time without internal criticism shows the values of HYBE."

They continued, "HYBE artists have significant influence, so there might still be demand for challenges or joint stages. However, if I think about how they will evaluate our artists to boost their own position, it's really chilling. There's already a growing sentiment in the industry that we should avoid contact with HYBE," adding, "I hope the entire Kpop scene is not devalued as a low-quality group or culture because of HYBE's document."

-?? Didn't they say they already apologized? These bastards always lie whenever they open their mouths.

-They really didn't apologize??

-These liars. Look at them pretending not to know and acting like that.

-I freaking hate HYBE.

-Look at HYBE and all their bullshit. We really need to boycott them for real.

-They probably just apologized to their own labels.

-They probably think they can just bury this quietlyㅋㅋ

-I knew this would happen.

-Trashy bastards. Let's not get involved with that company.

-I bet they're just waiting for the issue to calm down. This is exactly why more of their reports need to be leaked.

-Please avoid that company. Don't engage with them.

-I expected this to happen.

-If my faves do any challenges with HYBE's idols, I'll seriously send a protest truck.

-I'm not even f*cking surprised.

-What the heck?? They said they apologized right away after the articles came out.

-Just apologize, won't you? Crazy bastards.

-What, they still haven’t apologized??

HYBE's Q3 operating profit is 54.2 billion KRW ... Year-on-year falls by 25.4% (net profit: 1.4 billion KRW).

Maeil Business | Reporter Sung Jungeun

https://n.news.naver.com/mnews/article/009/0005390971?sid=101

HYBE's revenue is 527.8 B KRW, which dropped 1.9% from the same period last year. While their net profit dropped by 98.6% to 1.4 B KRW.

theqoo

-Net profit of 1.4 B KRW...?

-...? What's wrong with their net profit...

-Their revenue this year is quite similar to their revenue last year. Where are they spending their money for their net profit to drop so much?

-You're telling me their net profit is 1.4 B KRW??? For real??

-Are you sure that's the right number????

-Their net profit dropped even more. Wasn't it 2.9 B KRW last time?

-This is serious. Looks like they're going downhill.

-With a net profit of 1.4 B KRW, can they even invest in their artists?

-???? Honestly, I can't believe this.

-I mean... Is their net profit really 1.4 B KRW?? Are you sure it's not a typo? Does this even make sense?

-Looks like they're spending loads of money on PR that they end up with a net profit of 1.4 B KRWㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-Where are they spending all of their money............?

-Where did they spend all their money?ㅋㅋㅋ

-Is that just an estimate or actually 1.4 B KRW?

-For real?? Are you sure they didn't miss a zero?

-Not even 14 B KRW but 1.4 B KRW???

Min Heejin: "HYBE, don't cover up your wicked act with money and power ... I hope this rotten organization will be reformed"

Joy News 24 | Reporter Jung Jiwon

Former ADOR CEO, Min Heejin, broke her silence. Min Heejin directed her criticism at HYBE, saying, "I hope through this incident, this rotten organization will be reformed." She also warned, "Don't cover up your wicked act with money and power."

Min Heejin recently shared with Joy News 24, "The reason I’ve been enduring this long and painful struggle for months is because neither NewJeans nor I should be the scapegoat of HYBE's retaliation."

What drove Min Heejin to continue this long and tough battle which began in April? What pushes Min Heejin to confront HYBE, despite losing a lot of things during the process? Through Joy News 24, Min Heejin revealed her side of the story, expressing her thoughts and experiences without omissions or additions, according to her own wishes.

Below is Min Heejin’s full statement:

HYBE's claims, which began with an illegal audit, are entirely fabricated and fictional.

On April 22, HYBE announced they were launching an audit, yet the audit inquiries they sent on that day were based on illegally obtained personal information and filled with absurd, fabricated, and low-quality questions. Surprisingly, this suggests that HYBE had 'already' illegally accessed and acquired personal information to make these questions even before the formal audit began. How on earth could they obtain another person's personal data without consent before the audit even started? This is very chilling.

What is the reason behind this unexpected illegal audit? I believe it is out of resentment held by HYBE executives, including Chairman Bang Sihyuk, former CEO Park Jiwon, and BELIFT Lab CEO Kim Taeho. I openly criticized and called out their numerous issues and wrongdoings in front of HYBE’s management and board members, and I believe this lowly act of targeting me with an audit is their petty revenge.

The reasons I have been bearing the personal financial burden to continue this long, painful fight for months are, first, because neither I nor NewJeans should be sacrificed as a scapegoat to HYBE’s irrational, hostile retaliation; and second, because I hope that exposing HYBE’s atrocities and malicious acts to the public will lead to reforming this rotten organization.

I sincerely wish for a society where wicked acts can no longer be concealed by money and power.

theqoo

-Fighting... This is a very scandalous incident, but the media are very quiet about it. It's frightening. I wonder what kind of battle Min Heejin has been fighting on her own...

-Fighting. Honestly, I don't think that company can be reformed...... They should just go bankrupt.

-Yeah, yeah. Exactly. But Min Heejin should apologize to the victims instead of staying silent and also reform herself.

-I'm rooting for Min Heejin.

-I completely agree with the last line. Please.

-Who would have thought HYBE would turn out this way when the scandal broke in April?

-Min Heejin has been in the entertainment industry for years. So, for her to be this horrified... How severe must HYBE's issues be?

-They took revenge just because she embarrassed them in public?ㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷ

-It’s clear they’re trying to wear her down. I don't think the term 'workplace harassment' suits them. They're like a crime organization at this point.

-Fighting. Stay strong!! I can't help much, but I already deleted all of HYBE idols' songs from my playlist. If we want to clean up the shit of the entertainment industry a.k.a HYBE, we need to boycott them.

-This is very impressive of her. I hope she wins.

"Add Zico (to the recipient list) as well" ... HYBE Chairman Bang Sihyuk directly orders the 'Idol Report' to be shared to Zico

Amid the growing backlash over HYBE’s reports which became controversial because it contains highly critical evaluations of other idols' appearances, it was revealed on the 30th that HYBE Chairman Bang Sihyuk had directly instructed senior executives to distribute this document. The dismissal of former head of Weverse Magazine, Kang Myungseok, who was reportedly involved in the creation of the reports, raises possibility regarding Chairman Bang's responsibility in the matter.

According to an email obtained by Hankyoreh dated 6 January 2022, Bang Sihyuk replied to a "Weekly Music Industry Report III" shared by Kang Myungseok, requesting, “Please add Zico to the document distribution list.” The recipients of the email included Kim Jooyoung, who was then Chief Human Resources Officer and now CEO of HYBE subsidiary ADOR.

Rapper Zico, who is also a former member of Block B, was added as a recipient because KOZ Ent., the agency he founded in 2018, was acquired by HYBE in November 2020. Since Zico is now the representative of HYBE's sub-label, he became a part of the report's recipient list. This report is published every week and sent to HYBE's C-level executives and label heads. A source suggested, "Zico wasn’t initially included after the acquisition, perhaps due to concerns about his reaction as an artist himself."

On 28 June 2023, Bang Sihyuk sent an email to Kang Myunseok, saying "Please add ㅇㅇ (to the report's distribution list)", to which Kang Myungseok responded, "Yes, he has been added."

As it is revealed that Bang Sihyuk was directly involved in overseeing the report's contents and managed the recipients, he may face further responsibility. HYBE has already let go of Kang Myungseok from his position on the 29th. HYBE's CEO, Lee Jaesang, publicly apologized, saying "The document was compiled to gather various responses and public opinions on industry trends and issues. While it was shared only with a limited number of leadership members for the purpose of understanding the public opinion of the market and among fans, the content of the document was highly inappropriate. On behalf of the company, I acknowledge the wrongdoing and feel responsible for the report that contained provocative expressions towards K-pop artists, the subjective views and personal judgment of the document's author, and the fact that such content was documented."

HYBE has since stated that they have no additional comments beyond CEO Jaesang Lee’s public apology regarding the emails exchanged between Bang Sihyuk and Kang Myungseok.

-It's so unbelievable how Bang Sihyuk is trying to cut ties after causing all this messㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-I feel like this company is the root of all evil in Kpop.

-Considering this document circulated only among top executives, I figured Zico would be a recipient too.

-ㅋㅋㅋ It's all starting to get revealed now.

-He was an idol before he got into his current position now, though... Wow...

-I'm not even surprised at all...

-The fact that Min Heejin was the only one who raised concerns is both surprising and unsurprising.

-I mean... This guy has a history from even his Cyworld days...

-HYBE is truly a force of evil. Destroy them.

-I wonder if he's still going to try deny it...

-Told y'all that they're all in this together.

-To me, this sounds like they're trying to shift the blame onto Zico, though...

-Bang Sihyuk is so pathetic. What is he doing now? Doing a hamburger mukbang in the US?

[HYBE] We Sincerely Apologize Regarding the Monitoring Document

As the CEO of HYBE, I offer my apologies regarding the recent issues surrounding HYBE’s monitoring document.

I bow my head in apology to the artists, industry colleagues, and fans regarding the monitoring document that was brought up during the National Assembly’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee audit on October 24.

The document was compiled to gather various responses and public opinions on industry trends and issues. While it was shared only with a limited number of leadership members for the purpose of understanding the public opinion of the market and among fans, the content of the document was highly inappropriate. On behalf of the company, I acknowledge the wrongdoing and feel responsible for the report that contained provocative expressions towards K-pop artists, the subjective views and personal judgment of the document's author, and the fact that such content was documented. In particular, I am very sorry that the false suspicions of reverse marketing have led to misunderstandings and also harmed innocent artists and individuals.

I offer a formal and respectful apology to the external artists mentioned in the document who may have been hurt or impacted. We are reaching out to each agency individually to extend personal apologies. We are also conveying an official apology with heartfelt sincerity to all HYBE Music Group artists who are unfairly facing criticism due to this issue.

Recognizing the lack of awareness by leadership members who received the document, I have, as CEO, immediately halted the creation of such monitoring documents. I promise to implement guidelines and strengthen internal controls to prevent this from ever happening again.

Once again, I apologize sincerely to the artists and industry colleagues who were affected, to the fans, and to everyone who loves and supports K-pop. As the representative of the company, I pledge to thoroughly correct past mistakes through profound reflection and self-examination and to make every effort to ensure the healthy development of the K-pop industry with the utmost respect for the rights of all K-pop artists and fans.

Thank you,

HYBE CEO, Lee Jaesang

ZB1

Teaser

: It hasn't even been a week since the trailer video was released, but it got around 1.28 M views. The narration and the overall video composition and editing are made from things borrowed from various places, and even so, the setting in the scenes don’t connect well. There are other teams coming out in July besides ZB1, so I'm curious how long they can keep fooling themselves.

: Their reality show has a camping concept, the actual broadcast is on Thursdays, but there've already posted a few pre-release videos. And honestly, it's really really boring. WannaOne's reality show also had somehow distant and tense atmosphere among the members, and I think this team is no different at all. In contrast, BOYNEXTDOOR have been practicing together for a longer period. I think it would be better for them to continue showcasing their teamwork while also showing their competitive side.

WannaOne's reality show also had somehow distant and tense atmosphere among the members

?????????

I'm sure they actually haven't watched any episodes of it.

theqoo

-It’s been over 5 years since WannaOne disbanded, and they’re still bringing it up. I wonder how they would be if WannaOne was still active.

-What did they even watch...? Are we even watching the same thing?

-WannaOne's content were famous for being really fun... What a nonsenseㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-I watched WannaOne's content because it was really fun, even though I'm not a fun. Which part of it was tense...?

-All of WannaOne’s variety shows had a good atmosphere and were funny. This is so stupidㅋㅋㅋ

-What are they talking about... WannaOne's reality show was really funㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-WannaOne's still f*cking relevant even until this secondㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-I still watch WannaOne's Mafia game even now. What are they talking about?

-WannaOne is considered legendary in terms of reality shows, though.

-I have never heard anyone used the word 'WannaOne' and 'distant' in one sentence.

-Did they really not watch anything? WannaOne was the real deal in terms of reality showsㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ The way they still get threatened by WannaOne even after all these years ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

The most shocking comment from HYBE's report in my opinion

Baby Monster

Member Reveal

: Korean member Rora and Japanese member Asa have been revealed. It seems likeAsa was cast when she was in elementary school, but her Korean accent and speech patterns are so natural that it has become somewhat of an issue. This means that there isn’t much else drawing attention to her.

: Though they were promoted with the image of 'daughter of a rich family', NewJeans has taken a significant lead in this image, raising the bar for such image over the past year. Overall, the members all have natural images but they lack in terms of striking appearances that would make online communities interested in them.

: They kinda have similar vibes to NMIXX, which is very suspicious. The way they excessively reveal Yang Hyunsuk's opinions on the girls suggest that there may be some business reasons behind it. I wonder if Park Jinyoung or Yang Hyunsuk's perceptions of women's appearances changed once they have daughters. Rather than saying they couldn't find talent for the centers, I'd say the members all share similar vibes in general.

Nonsense about how Yang Hyunsuk and Park Jinyoung's preferences in aesthetics would change if they ever had daughters... My ass.

theqoo

-They must have serious inferiority complex towards Park Jinyoung, judging from the way they talk about JYP's female idols and this...

-What is this...? I can't believe my eyes even after reading it... Are they crazy?

-It's so dumb-founding to hear them talk about NMIXX and Baby Monster like this. The girls are all very beautiful and talented, they must be crazy. The report itself is very disgusting to begin with.

-Their level is so low that I'm at a loss for words.

-How can anyone say something like that? Seriously.

-I can't imagine how rotten their brain is to think that having a daughter will distort (Park Jinyoung and Yang Hyunsuk's) perceptions of women. I have never heard such nonsense in my entire life. They must not see women as human to be able to say something like that.

-They're not human at this point.

-Park Jinyoung and Yang Hyunsuk really need to sue them at this point.

-It's one thing for Park Jinyoung, but this is the first time I actually feel sorry for Yang Hyunsukㅋㅋㅋㅋ HYBE must've gone insane for real.

-They must be completely out of their minds.

-They're way of thinking is just... insane.

-You're telling me that this is what a company report looks like??

-They really need to be sued for writing this...

-This is insane... They really need to be sued.

-Are they really human??

-HYBE-ya, what makes you any different from Sojang?
