Bang Sihyuk, chairman of HYBE, was selected as someone who brought Asian culture to the world and hinted at future collaborations with various cultures.

Chairman Bang attended the Asia Game Changer Awards ceremony held on the 25th of last month (Korea time) in New York, USA, and delivered his acceptance speech.

The award is presented to those who have shone a global light on Asian content in fields such as journalism, music, film, and comedy. Although the ceremony was held on the 25th of last month, Chairman Bang’s acceptance speech was released on the 19th via a YouTube channel.

Delivering his speech in Korean, Chairman Bang said, “I've been collaborating with musicians from various cultural backgrounds since I was young. Through these experiences, I’ve learned to respect and understand the diversity of individuals and cultures. As a producer who experiments with various genres, and as the chairman of HYBE, which has bases in Korea, the U.S., Japan, and Latin America, I believe we can expect more creative and enriching musical outcomes when we combine differences"

He continued, “The reason Kpop music is loved worldwide is not only because of its universally relatable narratives but also because it combines the appealing elements from multiple genres. For example, BTS member Jungkook’s song ‘Seven’, which played as I walked in, was inspired by the UK garage genre and created in collaboration with the popular American artist Latto.”

He added, “LE SSERAFIM, a girl group under HYBE, released the song ‘Unforgiven’, which sampled Ennio Morricone’s ‘The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly’, and featured the legendary American guitarist Nile Rodgers. Additionally, our boy group Tomorrow X Together also collaborated with Brazilian artist Anitta last year on the song ‘Back for More’, which significantly increased the number of first-time listeners to our music.”

Chairman Bang concluded, “To introduce Kpop’s strengths to the U.S. and further to the global stage, we have been collaborating with Geffen Records, one of the top U.S. labels under Universal Music. As a result, the global girl group KATSEYE debuted this summer and has been achieving remarkable chart results in the global market.”

-Where did your conscience go?

-Collaboration? You're being ridiculous. Ugh, so annoying.

-How about showing up to a hearing?

-Talking about 'rich musical achievements' when all he did was plagiarize and manipulate music chartsㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-When will we get to see those 'creative and rich musical achievements' you're talking about?

-Is his head filled with flowers, or is he just a psycho? What the heck is he doing?

-Is he still in the US? Is he not coming back to Korea? How long does he plan to dodge this matter?

-Stop talking bullshit and come back to Korea.

-I'm a fan of one of the groups he mentioned there. It's obvious that Bang Sihyuk doesn't care about his artists or their fans. If he knew about his current image, he wouldn't be mentioning the groups right now. How can someone be like that? It's not the artists, it's Bang's attitude that makes me want to quit being a fan. If you still have any conscience left, don't mention the groups anymore. I hate him so much. I really do. I hate him so much, I'm literally crying right nowㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-Your idols are suffering, receiving hate and backlash right now. What are you doing?
