MAMAMOO Hwasa undergoes police investigation regarding her obscene performance controversy

MAMAMOO's Hwasa (Real name: Ahn Hyejin, 28) is revealed to have undergone a police investigation after being reported by the parents' association for her provocative performance at Sungkyunkwan University Festival. The police plan to determine the lewdness of her performance and decide whether to proceed with a prosecution in the near future.

According to reports from Yonhap News on the 10th, Seoul Seongdong Police Station summoned Ahn at the end of last month to question her intentions and background of the performance. 

In May, Ahn performed at Sungkyunkwan University Festival for TVN's Dancing Queens On The Road. During her performance, she licked her fingers and made a gesture toward a specific body part. Although this scene was edited out from the show, it caused controversy on social media immediately after fan-cams of the performance circulated online, with some people debating whether it was overly provocative. 

In June, the Student-Parent Association filed a complaint against Hwasa on charges of obscene performance. The association claimed, "Hwasa's actions were suggestive of perverted sexual relations, enough to cause shame and disgust among the witnessing public."

The police have summoned the complainants and Ahn for questioning one by one and are reviewing whether the controversial performance is subject to criminal prosecution. They also have been collecting relevant information from the company and other sources for legal assessment. 

The offense of obscene performance applies when it occurs in a location where an unspecified number of people can witness it. This offense can result in a punishment of up to one year of imprisonment or a fine of up to 5M KRW, detention, or a penalty.

-Didn't Lia's herniated disc get even worse recently? I can totally understand why their choreography got easier these days. I really want ITZY to continue performing for a really long time, so I hope they prioritize their health...

-I'm sure they practice for hundred times just for one performance. I personally think people who demand them for tough choreography just because it looks cool are really irresponsible.

-My bias hurt her ankles and knees because she always dances in heels...

-I tried to learn Mafia choreography at home but I ended up getting cramps and gave up. I know it's probably because I didn't warm up, but it freaking hurt. I hope they won't get injured and continue to perform for a really long time. 

-I personally think it's a shame that their most recent choreography isn't as tough, especially since tough choreography is one of their identity. However, I agree that their health should be their top priority. 

-They don't only perform those choreographies for just once. They practice for hundreds of hours, perform them on music shows and concerts. I really hope they will stop overworking themselves. 

-I don't think ITZY will be able to dance properly on their 20th anniversary since they used their joints excessively when they were younger... Please take care of your joints while you're still youngㅠㅠ

However, you must join the group immediately as you are now. 
You have no time and can't practice singing, dancing, get plastic surgeries, and go on a diet.
It's a 7-year contract. The company can't fire you and you can't withdraw from the group either. 
The income of the group will be divided by the number of members. 

The shocking news of a new member joining the group causes a frenzy worldwide. 
Everyone is in a commotion, they all will be focused on you.
There are even petitions for you to leave the group.
When the group releases merchandise, only your merchandise won't sell.
