SM Ent.'s artists will join HYBE's fan platform, 'Weverse'.
HYBE and SM Ent. have agreed to place SM Ent.'s artists on 'Weverse' and are currently coordinating specific details. HYBE and SM Ent. are expected to announce an agreement on the timing and method of the entry to 'Weverse'.
SM Ent.'s artists have been active in their own fan community called 'Kwangya Club'. From the 1st Gen artists such as Kangta and BoA to 4th Gen artists such as Aespa and NCT, all artists have been using this platform. SM Ent. has made the decision to move their artists' activities from 'Kwangya Club' to 'Weverse'.
The agreement includes plans to distribute SM Ent.'s artists' albums and merchandise on 'Weverse Shop', an e-commerce service operated by Weverse Company. Weverse is also expected to secure the operating rights for paid fan-club services for SM Ent.'s artists.
Industry insiders deem that HYBE, which had previously withdrawn from the SM acquisition battle, has gained sufficient support through this collaboration.
