Pledis official statement regarding fromis_9 neglect controversy (Increasing event invitations, comeback preparations proceeding smoothly)

 

On the 13th, Pledis Ent. revealed that festival invitations are pouring in for Fromis_9.

The girls are set to kick off their comeback preparations by participating in major festivals and events. On the 17th, they will perform at the festival of Dongyang University in Seoul, followed by an appearance at the 'Spring Breeze in Campus' event at the Peace Hall of Kyunghee University on the 18th.

On the 21st, they will take the stage at the 'KBS Korea on Stage' event held at Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul to raise awareness about the importance of national heritage.

From June to August, they are scheduled to appear at various festivals. Starting from the 'Weverse Con Festival' on June 16th, followed by the 'Waterbomb 2024 Nationwide Tour' in Seoul on July 5th, and performances in Incheon on August 3rd.

The agency stated, "In addition, we are actively negotiating with various festival organizers and coordinating other performances." 

Fromis_9's member Lee Chaeyoung recently expressed her sadness during a live broadcast, saying, "Why can't we, only us, fromis_9, be active for so long? It's so sad," and "I also have Flovers (official fandom name). I also have fans. We also have Flovers," which led to speculation among some fans about being 'neglected'.

On the other hand, Pledis Entertainment responded indirectly to such suspicions. The agency stated, "We are smoothly progressing with fromis_9's comeback preparations. It's really strange because there were many times when they were not recognized. It's puzzling how Bang Sihyuk would always ignore New Jeans' members and refuse to greet them when the girls encounter him at the company. 

At first, the explanation we received from the girls was, "Maybe he didn't recognize us." We had to confirm this several times. However, since this happened multiple time, with different members on different days and places, it became obvious that Bang Sihyuk actually knew the girls are New Jeans' members.

Even if Bang Sihyuk didn't know the girls are New Jeans' members, isn't it a basic manner to respond if someone greets you? Is it really difficult to respond to reply to their greetings? Hearing about how the girls were ignored, felt like they were being avoided, or sensed that they were being ignored, not just once or twice, but repeatedly, as parents, we were astonished and at a loss for words. The girls are only middle and high school students. 

Not only this. After hearing about the promise of being HYBE's first girl group, New Jeans' members signed contracts with Source Music Ent., but their debut was delayed and they had to wait without any explanation from Source Music Ent. Then, news of them signing contracts with OOO and OOO emerged. In the end, they broke their promises they had made in the contract by debuting another group as their first girl group.
