The Average Age of This Girl Group is 35, But None of the Members Have Gotten Married Yet

In 2017, SNSD was one of the 'Top 10 Kpop Girl Groups of the Past 10 Years' selected by Billboard. Because they've been around for so long, they're all in their mid-30s now. Like Taeyeon, Sunny, Tiffany, and Hyoyeon were born in 1989, making them 35 years old in Korean age this year. Sooyoung and Yoona, who were born in 1990, are now 34. And the youngest, Seohyun, just turned 33.

Unlike Wonder Girls who was active around the same time, SNSD is still making headlines with their music rather than marriage announcements.

Fans hope they stay as idols forever in their hearts and are cheering them on for whatever they do next. Nevertheless, some people also react "Just looking at this proves the declining birthrate."

-Why are they bringing up the declining birthrate... So stupid

-It's because they're doing just fine without marriage and they love their job...

-I just think it's impressive how passionate and dedicated they are about their job...ㅎㅎ

-I'm sure they'll get married if they want to.

-SNSD had already made significant contributions to the country's economy through their income when they were at their peak. As if that's not enough, now people are pushing them to get marriage. This shows how men view girl groups and women in general.

-Low birth rate? If you're really that worried about the declining birthrate, you should go ahead and have ten children.

-Thanks to SNSD, my youth was full of happiness. Now, I hope they all meet good men and be even happier.

-They will forever be Girls Generation~~

-First of all, their average age is not even 35...

-There are male idols who debuted around the same time as SNSD and still aren't marriedㅋㅋㅋ So why only do this to SNSD???

-How did they grow up so fast... I can't believe Seohyun is already in her 30s...

-Even some idols from the 1st Gen are over 40 and still haven't gotten married...

-I can't believe now they're using SNSD's ages for a reason to hate??ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-You're telling SNSD to get married?ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

DAY6 YoungK's Yearbook Pictures

theqoo

-The first picture is so freaking adorableㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-He has always looked the same his entire life, how cuteㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-When he took his college's yearbook picture, the photographer probably didn't know he was a celebrity and praised him for being so photogenicㅋㅋ I can totally see why

-His primary school yearbook picture is so freaking adorableㅋㅋㅋ He looked so playful

-What does the B stand for in B Kang?? Isn't his real name Kang Younghyun?

-He looks like that one kid who never listens in that primary school yearbook pictureㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-Why does he look so... Talkative?ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-It's crazy how he hasn't changed at all...

-Basically, only his body got biggerㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-I don't want to get married if it's not to Kang Younghyun

-YoungK graduated from university??

-He's so adorable... Please marry me...

-Are you sure those pictures were not taken just yesterday?ㅋㅋㅋ

-Whoa... He looks exactly the same. He somehow looks very polite.

-I want to sue him for being so sweet...

Ryu Junyeol Faces Sponsorship Cancellation... Greenpeace States, "Will Review and Discuss Ambassador Guidelines"

Amidst the controversy surrounding Ryu Junyeol's dating news Han Sohee, Greenpeace, where he serves as an ambassador, has spoken out, "Ryu Junyeol, as an ambassador, has been actively involved in various Greenpeace campaigns since 2016 and is also a sponsor of Greenpeace. Based on his intention to continue participating in various environmental campaigns together, Ryu, the actor, was appointed as the first ambassador of Greenpeace East Asia in April 2023," adding, "His activities as an ambassador are voluntary activities based on personal goodwill."

Previously, Ryu Junyeol was recognized for his efforts to raise awareness of environmental destruction and was selected as the first ambassador of Greenpeace East Asia. As Ryu Junyeol was revealed to be an avid golfer, a major contributor to environmental destruction, and was seen carrying a bag made of calf leather, even Greenpeace, where he serves as an ambassador, faced criticism.

In response, Greenpeace stated, "We are currently reviewing inquiries from our sponsors regarding this matter." They continued, "Greenpeace operates solely on individual and independent foundation sponsorship without receiving sponsorship from governments or corporations," adding, "One of Greenpeace's roles is to convey a stronger and louder voice of citizens to bring about changes in governments and corporations. We will take this opportunity to review and discuss the regulations related to ambassadors."

theqoo

-They are so slow when it comes to handle things. Can't they even read the room? The longer they delay changing their ambassador, the more likely sponsorships will be cut off.

-They still haven't changed their ambassador?

-But... does having an ambassador actually make a difference?? Isn't it supposed to enhance the celebrity's image by promoting such organizations?

-I canceled my sponsorship too (not that much money though). If Ryu Junyeol's wealthy fans pitch in, it should be fine. Fighting!

-The aftermath of the dating rumor is huge...

-Wow, the issue is getting bigger and bigger.

-Looks like Han Sohee and Ryu Junyeol aren't meant to be together...

-Ryu Junyeol must be contributing a lot in terms of personal sponsorship.

-It's only been three months since their relationship started, and it's already such a mess...

-Why blame Han Soheeㅋㅋㅋㅋ It's something he created himself.

-Canceled my sponsorship.

-There are many celebrities who actively practice environmental protection, why not choose those people~~

-I'm not a fan of Ryu Junyeol, but is it necessary to go this far... Even if they change the ambassador, will that person be flawless without contradictions?

-Why go to such lengths? Seems like people are overreacting.

It seems like Blackpink has re-signed with YG for around 100 billion won per member

Today, the 2023 YG Entertainment business report was disclosed by the Financial Supervisory Service.

In the intangible assets section, it appears that YG acquired a new exclusive contract fee of 41,185,000,000 KRW in 2023. This indicates that YG Entertainment signed new exclusive contracts with artists in 2023, resulting in an acquisition of approximately 412 billion KRW in exclusive contract fees. Most of this amount is presumed to be related to re-signing Blackpink and possibly signing a new exclusive contract with Baby Monster.

By examining the list of artists below, it may be possible to determine who signed new exclusive contracts with YG or who re-signed with them in 2023.

Among the contracts signed last year, the only ones I know are Blackpink and Beomons, so I estimate that Blackpink's re-signing fee alone would exceed 300 billion KRW.

Considering an annual depreciation of 55 billion KRW, I predict the re-signing contracts to be for 7 years.

-If it's 100 billion each for 7 years, they're definitely going to do group activities

-It's not surprising, especially since Blackpink earns a lot from their tours. Their previous tours were successful, so I'm really looking forward to the next one.

-Wow, 100 billion per member plus the freedom for individual activities, this is a really good deal for Blackpink.

-They really fit well with YG.

-Re-signing for 7 years?? Wow.

-It's not that long since it's only for the group; individual contracts are separate, so it's not really that long~ Even though they re-signed last year, this year might be focused more on individual activities rather than group activities, so it's expected that they won't be active for all 7 years.

-Wow, there's going to be a lot of group activitiesㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I'm so excitedㅠㅠ Let's see Blackpink oftenㅠㅠ

-I guess they calculated the profits from the tour well and re-signed.

-Looking forward to their group activities. Please come back often.

-Blackpink deserves it, considering the revenue they generate from tours.

-If it's Blackpink, 100 billion per member seems reasonable considering the revenue they generate from the tours...

-They probably earned over 500 billion won from the tour. I heard that Blackpink was in the top 10 worldwide. Next, they'll probably earn even more than this.

-YG doesn't have many singers compared to what I thought? They better bet everything on Baby Monster.

-It's natural that it costs a lot to keep Blackpink.

-It's possible for Blackpink. 7 years is too long, but I'm happy because I want to see them as a complete group for a long time ㅋㅋ

-I'm just waiting for a new album ㅠㅠ

Tanghulu Shop Owner Struggles to Sell Even 10 a Day After the Trend Ends in Just Nine Months

A user expressed their frustration on an online community, saying, "I opened up a Tanghulu shop last June and enjoyed it, but the trend ended after just nine months. I tried selling strawberry mochi with the hope of holding onto something, but who even eats strawberry mochi these days? I foolishly paid money to learn for nothing. Even the shop owners I know, who trained more than five people, say they can't even sell ten in a day. I hope there won't be any more people going to learn."

Furthermore, they complained, "Fruit prices are already high, and I have a lot on my mind these days. I opened a Tanghulu shop, but I'm not making any sales, and I don't even have a refund for the deposit."

Upon hearing this news, netizens reacted with comments such as, "A Tanghuru shop opened near my house too, but it attracted only flies," "I knew it wouldn't last long," "It's really sad," "How about trying different options?"

theqoo

-I can totally see why... Fruits are getting really expensive these days

-It would be fine if they lowered the price a bit... Honestly, 4,000 KRW (~$3 USD, ~Rp47.000 IDR) for just six pieces is a bit... expensive...

-Kids don't eat it anymore? For adults, Tanghulu is just something they tried once because it was trendy...

-It wasn't meant to be a long-lasting trend from the start...

-I used to buy them but now I'm afraid of gaining weight, so I don't eat them.

-It's expensive + because of diabetes...

-I want to eat it, but it's expensive, so I'm holding back ㅠㅠ

-I'll buy it if it's 1,500 to 2,000 KRW (~$1 to $1,50 USD, ~Rp17.000 to Rp23,000 IDR)

-I have to try it at least once before it disappears, but I can't because of bracesㅠㅠㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-Tried it once and won't eat it again.

-Teenagers, the target audience, don't care about sugar-related issues. I think they just no longer interested because it's too expensive and sweet.

-Wasn't it something predictable...?

-I tried it for the first time last week, but I probably won't spend money to buy it again...

-I'm not craving it because it's winter, but I'll probably eat it again when it gets warmer.

-I'm afraid of getting diabetes
