On this day, it was reported by a media outlet that Jiyeon and Hwang Jaegyun had submitted a divorce mediation request to the Seoul Family Court last month, indicating that they are undergoing divorce proceedings. Rumors of their divorce had spread widely after commentator Lee Kwanggil mentioned during a KNN baseball broadcast in June, "Did you know Hwang Jaegyun is divorced?"
Following this, the commentator apologized, stating that he had caused misunderstanding and harm to the couple, and Jiyeon's former agency representative at the time also stated, "After directly confirming with her, the divorce rumors are unfounded," but ultimately, the couple has chosen to go their separate ways.
