Today, NCT's Indonesian fans sent a Starbucks boycott truck to Starbucks

(NB: Pannatic is a translation site that supports Palestine. Any statements and comments here do NOT reflect my views and beliefs)

We do not want NCT or your artists to be associated with or promote S ** BUC*KS or any company that raises funds for genocide in Palestine.

Please take note of our concerns.

instiz

-Why are they doing this for real???

-It's really infuriating.

-They should hold a protest in their own country, seriously... NCT, let's just not go to Indonesia anymore in the future.

-Ugh, why are they doing this;

-They're the best when it comes to doing useless things, really.

-Who are they to meddle in other countries?

-If they're going to do something, do it in the US headquarters. What's the point of doing this in front of Korean Starbucks, where Shinsegae owns a hundred percent stake?

-Why aren't they sending trucks to their own country?

-They're legends in being uneducated...

-Donate that money to Palestine instead.

-Why are they doing this? They should just go protest at the US HQ instead.

-What's the relation between Indonesia and Palestine?

-Korean Starbucks has nothing to do with it, why keep doing this? Go protest at the US HQ.

-Huh? It's not even in front of the Korean headquarters, it's in front of a Starbucks branch in Cheongdamdong, and it's not like they sent trucks to all Starbucks locations nationwide.

-Use that money to donate, seriously, how can they be so foolish...

-Let's never go on tour to that country^^

-Now I develop some kind of prejudice against that country.

-Why don't they understand that what they're doing is violence?

-Send it to the Shinsegae headquarters... Starbucks Korea belongs to Shinsegae...

-Thanks to this, I'm now more convinced to support Israel 🇮🇱

BTS' international fans are madly angry at New Jeans for thanking CEO Min Heejin in their acceptance speech yesterday

The initial tweet has reached over 5.6 M views

Why would you write a petition..... It's not like you're Korean. You're not even related to New Jeans and Min Heejin's situation... What on earth does a BTS' fan have to do with this anyway?

Min Heejin mentioned that while boy groups generally generate more revenue, NewJeans, as a girl group, achieved results that are comparable to those of boy groups typically achieve within 5-7 years. This is a fact. However, many international ARMYs misinterpreted or mistranslated this, thinking it was a jab at BTS. These posts also seem to misinterpret Min Heejin's statement.

When Min Heejin said "I am human too," many international fans interpreted it as implying that groups like BTS, LE SSERAFIM, and ILLIT are not human. They spread the false claim that Min Heejin refused to apologize by saying "I am human too." This statement is being heavily criticized.

People are calling NewJeans demons, disgusting, and saying they should be boycotted.

Objectively, the number of BTS's international fans is far larger than Bunnies (NB: NewJeans' fanbase), and there are naturally more translators. Therefore, translations are quickly made and spread, but many are inaccurate.

Min Heejin's remarks in her first press conference were also distorted and spread within the fandom, and by the time accurate translations were available, it was too late.

(There have been many instances of BTS-related materials being mistranslated in a way that caused the members to be criticized. So it's no surprise this time. Many believe all these controversies, including the Sajaegi allegations, were started by Min Heejin. In reality, the Sajaegi allegations was brought to light years later because Korean fans were arguing with each other. It has nothing to do with Min Heejin.)

Min Heejin didn't even mention the Sajaegi allegations in yesterday's press conference. She talked about being offered to do a deceptive marketing strategy to promote her group.

Now, based on the comments from yesterday's Music Bank, it seems like they think it's time to boycott NewJeans.

As a fan of another country's culture, if they have different opinions from the local public opinion, they should be cautious and consider "Is there something I misunderstand?"

Instead, some international fans are using snippets of mistranslated (and poorly translated) remarks from the press conference and tell Koreans, who watched the full press conference, to "see the truth."

The issue is that these international fans I'm talking about are not just "a small group" (there's a lot of them); this whole chaos is caused because no one is properly moderating the community.

-They pretend to know everything when they don't even speak Korean...

-Sometimes international K-pop fans are more problematic than domestic fans. It's a bit scary.

-I don't know if it's because they're international fans or if it's just the fandom's attitude, but I don't understand why they equate BTS with HYBE and support HYBE so much... I'm not a fan, so I may not know much, but objectively, I don't think HYBE is the best company for BTS.

-That's a disease.

-It seems like HYBE's witch hunt is successful.

-I know there are many international fans who aren't in their right minds, but aren't there sane ones too among them? Shouldn't the sane fans correct them? If they just let it go, the fandom's image will be ruined

-If the fans behave like this, the artist will be seen in a bad light too.

-ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ They're trying so hard. Do they think New Jeans will flop because of this? Seriously, take care of your own business. Spend time with your family or read a book instead of leaving hate comments on social media! Pathetic, really pathetic.

-Whatever. Fighting, New Jeans.

-Please just go die.

-If you don't know anything, just stay quietㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-This is why HYBE does the media play, so these ignorant international fans would cause trouble.

-They make so much noise without even knowing the facts.

-There are really a lot of lunatics out there...

Min Heejin: "I hope New Jeans can live the life they want in the next 7 years. It's not good to re-sign contracts just for money"

Min Heejin, the CEO, Reveals Her Plans

During a press conference at the Korea Press Center in Seoul on May 31st, Min Heejin, the CEO of ADOR, revealed her vision with New Jeans.

Min Heejin stated, "The vision for New Jeans and me is simply to live happily," adding, "These young friends didn't know anything. They have a lot of talent, but they don't know how to express it. They wanted to become celebrities, but they didn't know what artists were. They only auditioned because it's a big company. They are kids who came in without knowing the system. What's important is how to teach and guide them."

She continued, "I always tell the members that during our contract period, they are studying with me. For seven years, study something that you can live on afterwards. How long are you going to stay with me? When they become more knowledgeable, they want to do their own things. At that time, they should be able to make free choices and practice living independently. If you keep spoon-feeding them, how will they live later?"

She went on to say, "I hope that they can live the life they want after becoming cool artists, or they may want to study abroad or get married after working hard for seven years. I hope they can live the life they want afterwards."

Min Heejin also shared, "I thought re-signing contracts and holding onto a company just for the money was a waste. In a way, it's a vision that wasn't there in the K-pop world. Members and parents might find my vision interesting and enjoyable. I didn't like the idea of being stuck in K-pop. It's not fun. If we have our style, other styles can be popular, and so on, we have to do this and that to make a living. That's what makes it interesting. I thought that if we could make money while doing this, we could become a good business model."

theqoo

-Wow, I can't believe there's a CEO like this.

-For idol groups who gain popularity later in their career, 7 years is a long time. But for idol groups that become popular quickly, 7 years is really long. Idols debuted at young age, and there must be some things they take into consideration when they're about to re-sign the contract.

-If I were another idol, I'd envy New Jeans a lot.

-Min Heejin is the complete opposite of HYBE. Min Heejin is a visioner, while HYBE is an imitator who only repeats what's been done in the past.

-Impressive. You can't think like this if you're only focused on money.

-The best, really ㅜㅜ Min Heejin, New Jeans, fighting!! Walk the path of happiness only.

-It's a mutually beneficial plan both in terms of business and personal lives. The longer you've been in the industry, the more disadvantageous the settlement ratio is to the company.

-HYBE idiots, listen up and learn

-She even pays attention to things like this? Amazing.

-Seven years is a long time. You can't be an idol forever.

-A good adult and a good entrepreneur.

-A true adult.

-Great leadership.

-A really humane perspective.

-Wow, in an industry where people profit from pretty young girls, there's a company CEO with this mindset... She's thinking of the girls not as products but as humans. She's a good adult.

-So coolㅠㅠㅠㅠ

New Jeans Minji and Danielle: "Thank you to CEO-nim and ADOR's Staff. I love you, CEO-nim"

"Once again, I love you so much, CEO-nim. I want to say thank you to our precious CEO-nim. CEO-nim, I love you"

theqoo

-Congratulations and fighting!!

-Congratulations to the girls! ❤️❤️ May only happiness come your way in the future.

-🥺 Congratulations! 💕

-It's making me tear up. These babies must have struggled a lot.

-New Jeans, you've worked hard. Congratulations.

-I'm crying... I want to be Min Hee Jin...

-Even though they're not my idols, I want to congratulate them! New Jeans, walk on a flowery path~~

-Even though I'm not Min Heejin, why am I tearing up? Why?

-Congratulations! Let's walk on a flowery path~~

-ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ Babies, I hope things get even better from now on. I've become a big fan of New Jeans because of this incident.

-Is Minji crying again?ㅋㅋㅋㅋ New Jeans, you're so brave. Congrats!

-If it were me, I would've cried due to emotions. But these babies are so tough. Congrats!

-Who's that guy with the silver hair behind...? Handsome.

-Congratulations, New Jeans babies 💗💗

-Let's be happy, New Jeans.
