Changmin's response to the question "Do you think being a celebrity is a difficult job?"

Changmin: I think it's a very challenging job. It is indeed a demanding job~ By paying off the debts accumulated and sacrificing childhood, (my parents) now have less financial stress. So there's give and take. More than personal regrets, I have a greater sense of gratitude. I'm more comfortable communicating with the public now.

-He seems to have a very healthy mindset. Celebrities who just complain about ther jobs have lost their minds.

-Having a positive mindset is much more realistic and cool than complaining.

-I always think that comments like these come from someone who understands the perspective of ordinary workers, so it always seems thoughtful.

-It's a good mindset.

-Being a celebrity is hard, but non-celebrities have it hard too. Even if celebrities are struggling, at least they gain wealth and fame, whereas regular people just struggle.

-Celebrities who complain about trivial things should go back to living the life of an ordinary person earning a monthly salary of 2 million won.

-Even though he debuted at a young age as an idol and gained fame right away, it's impressive to see his sense of reality. It shows that he's mature and is a good person.

-It's refreshing to hear Changmin say that being a celebrity is great, after seeing some celebrities complaints about their job.

-Oh... It's really impressive that he thinks that way, even when he suffered a lot because of malicious commenters and sasaengs.

-Changmin always seems to have a healthy mentality eve though he debuted at a young age and faced various challenges, it's impressive.

-Changmin has a very healthy mindset. If you earn something, you'll lose something too. There are pros and cons to everything. Once you learn that, life becomes easier (I'm not saying that being a celebrity is easy).

-Respect.

-He's saying the right thing. It's not just celebrities who experience the sadness of not being able to enjoy their school days. Even three hours of free time a day is already a lot for office workers, right?  Waking up at 6 or 7, going to work, coming home around 7 or 8, and then preparing for the next day, cleaning up, and doing everything else, it's exhaustingㅠㅠ  They probably have their own struggles, but compared to the money they earn... They're lucky. That doesn't mean hate comments and such are justified.

"Meenoi Absent from Advertisement Filming" - Company P states, "No Contract Issues on Paper, and No Penalty Fees Received"

Below is the official statement from Brand P.

Hello,

We would like to address the official position of the brand regarding the recent issues surrounding the advertising contract and shooting with 'Meenoi' (real name Park Min-young).

On the day of the advertising shoot, despite the sudden cancellation of the shoot and the contract termination one day later, it was both bewildering and regrettable. However, we understood the situation of artist Meenoi from the agency AOMG, and aimed to resolve it amicably by only proceeding with minimal compensation for the actual items completed.

While observing the ongoing controversy from a distance, we also engaged in conversations of empathy and support regarding each other's situations, hoping that no further issues would arise. Therefore, we remained neutral to numerous inquiries, refrained from disclosing the brand name, and chose silence to comfort.

We sincerely hope that everything has been resolved well at this moment, and thus we present our official position regarding the truth.

1. There were no unreasonable demands on the advertising model in the contract.

The typical terms of a contract with a celebrity advertising model involve one photoshoot and one video shoot for a period of six months, and the shooting time for each session is determined according to the agency's regulations. Therefore, all situations proceeded only under agreed conditions.

Also, since brand promotion through the model's personal social media during the contracted period typically involves 1-2 uploads in total, we proceeded with one upload with Meenoi.

2. No penalty fees were received for breach of contract due to personal reasons of the advertising model.

The advertising model's contract fee was 200 million KRW (including VAT), and there were no separate requests for cost caps.

Therefore, compensation was quickly processed, including detailed expense estimates for all expenses incurred, including the model fee, and paid to all parties involved.

3. Regarding the quarterly advertising plans and execution budget (45-50 billion KRW) scheduled as part of the annual marketing strategy for 2024, we aimed to conclude the overall strategy without any compensation changes, and our position remains the same.

4. All matters related to the contract were transparently discussed without bias from either side and proceeded with mutual agreement.

The reason for not disclosing the contract is to comply with the clause that it cannot be disclosed or transferred to a third party without consent.

If disclosure is deemed necessary, we intend to proceed with the consent of all three parties involved.

5. AOMG proceeded with compensation for damages as quickly as possible after the incident.

Compensation for the efforts of all staff involved, including the 100 meals and snacks provided due to the sudden cancellation, accommodation for staff staying at nearby accommodations due to the arduous shooting on the third day, and the advertising planning/production company and shooting team, was processed very quickly, with gratitude and apologies for the inconvenience.

We are deeply concerned about this matter.

We apologize and express our gratitude to all the staff who participated in the advertising shoot for their bright and positive energy, which was the reason for selecting artist Meenoi as the brand model.

We hope for a swift and positive resolution, and we will continue to support and hope for activities filled with brightness and positivity.

Finally, we would like to state that we will no longer accept any inquiries regarding this matter.

As a brand that lives up to expectations from the attention and support received, we look forward to meeting you again.

Thank you.

-Brand P is truly considerate.

-It must be exhausting for this company to keep getting dragged into Meenoi's contract talks...

-I feel sorry for the company.

-Even though Brand P is suffering losses and delays in their plans, they're really considerate of others...

-Wow... Papa Recipe is impressive

-Both Brand P and AOMG are considerate.

-In this matter, neither Brand P nor AOMG did anything wrong; they were truly considerate. Especially Brand P, it's a situation where they could actually sue Meenoi.

-It's pitiful for both Brand P and AOMG, but what's most absurd is how they're being criticized after being considerate.

-Is this Papa Recipe? Their cleanser is good.

-Brand P is very understanding and AOMG seems to trying hard to minimize the damage to their company...

-Wow... 2 shoots for 200 million...

-That's very nice of Brand P, but I personally think they should demand a penalty fee.

-No penalty fees?? Brand P is really amazing

-I tried my friend's Papa Recipe product last time, and it was good. I should buy some next time.

-They should demand a penalty fee; is the contract a joke? They're being too nice to her, it's really annoying how the efforts of hundreds of people are wasted because of one person's whims.

-It's disgusting... I don't want to see Meenoi anymore.

-That's very understanding of them. It's not like Papa Recipe is an unknown company.

-Meenoi is really ridiculous ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ What? Can't go because you're depressed?ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

"400 M KRW for 6 Months or 200 M KRW for 3 Months?" ... The True Intention Behind Meenoi's 'No-Show' Controversy

Meenoi's argument is reiterated:

"In comparison to the advertising contract in 2022, I felt that there was a lot of content and requested modifications to the contract, but it was not reconciled..."

The key point here is 'a lot'.

Meenoi has set the standard of 'a lot' based on the advertising contract in 2022. The advertisements she shot in 2022 were for companies such as A and B, totaling 8.

Dispatch obtained the advertising contract terms at the time. Below, they included the conditions of the contract signed with 'Papa Recipe' in 2023.

Brand A charges 140 million won for a single-shot advertisement over 6 months. It includes 2 video shoots, 1 photoshoot, 1 radio commercial, and the production of 1 song. Additionally, Meenoi attended a promotional event.

Brand B charges 390 million won for 6 months. What's noteworthy is the global contract. In this case, it's usually about twice as expensive. The terms include 1 video shoot, 1 photoshoot, 1 SNS post, and participation in events.

So, what about 'Papa Recipe'? The modeling fee is 200 million won for 6 months. The conditions include 1 video shoot, 1 photoshoot, and 1 SNS post. Furthermore, it was decided to conduct both the video and print shoots simultaneously (on the same day).

Comparing the terms, A (6 shoots) > B (4 shoots) > Papa Recipe (3 shoots). In terms of volume, A (5 times) > B (4 times) > Papa Recipe (3 times). Papa Recipe has the least.

So, what did Meenoi want (the day before the advertisement shoot)?

Meenoi: I thought it was 250 million won...

AOMG: I think I said 200 million won...
After Dispatch released the KakaoTalk messages, questions arose such as, "Did AOMG pocket 50 million won?"

AOMG's stance is clear. The modeling fee was originally 200 million won for a 6-month single-shot contract. And it was Meenoi who sent the 'request for adjustment' under those conditions.

What did Meenoi really want to negotiate?

According to Dispatch's investigation, Meenoi demanded 400 million won for 6 months or 200 million won for 3 months (ultimately). This was confirmed in the conversation logs between Meenoi and AOMG.

Of course, Meenoi could have raised objections to the guarantee. However, the timing seems unfortunate.

That's because AOMG sent Meenoi the settlement statement for December on January 9th. Meenoi raised objections to the contract on January 27th, a Saturday.

In other words, Meenoi had 18 days. Should she have been notified the day before the ad shoot (on the 29th) that "if the contract isn't amended, the shoot can't proceed"?

Lastly, let's look at Meenoi's perspective. Could she have been unaware of the contract signing date? She might be angry. However, she had already been communicating with advertisers extensively.

(Even 'Papa Recipe' supported Meenoi's offline popup last month.)

Meenoi: They supported me during the popup too, I was really grateful.

Papa Recipe: We'll keep supporting our model.

Meenoi: Haha, I'll keep polishing my modeling skills!

Papa Recipe: Now it's really just the beginning. We're counting on you! Let's be number one on Olive Young!

Meenoi has been involved in 40 advertisements with AOMG. Then, in the 41st contract, she pointed out the 'proxy signature'. What does she really want to address, a fake stamp? Or, from her perspective, is it the (low) guarantee?

"I mentioned either increasing the amount or halving the number of months. If that had been done, I would have handled it well without any problems." (Meenoi)

-Damn, this is really going downhill.

-This is what happens when an unqualified person becomes famous and gets too arrogant

-She's done 40 ads? That's more surprising. I guess she just got too greedy.

-Meenoi demanded 400 million won for 6 months or 200 million won for 3 months. Damn, is this for real?ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-I didn't even know who this person was before this controversy, and her ad fee is that much? Then how much do the popular ones get?

-I don't even know any of her songs and yet she demands like a top star then goes crying on live broadcast.

-Wow, celebrities really make a lot of money.

-So this is why everyone wants to be a celebrity, 200 million for 6 months... I'd have to save without spending anything for 6 years to barely accumulate that much.

-What, 400 million..

-Poor agency.

-There's no way she receives that much from an advertisement??

-Wow, celebrities really make a lot of money.

-How is she going to continue their activities in the future?

-400 million for 6 months..?

-Wow, celebrities really have it good..

-She's heading downhill.

-I don't even know who that person is, but she's making millions in 6 months. Celebrities have it good.

-Is Brand B a charity or something?

-I just found out her name, and it's surprising she's getting paid so much.

-Celebrities make money too easily.

-Anyway, she must have earned a lot of money so far...

-She even received support for her popup event and then betrayed them...

"I can't stand it anymore" ... Meenoi finally cancels the contract with AOMG.

As the conflict between singer Meenoi and her agency, AOMG,deepens, they are eventually moving towards the cancellation of their contract.

According to XSports News on the 6th, tensions arose between Meenoi and AOMG recently due to issues regarding her absence from advertisements, leading to communication difficulties between the two sides. Unable to overcome this, they have initiated the process of terminating their exclusive contract.

Meenoi signed an exclusive contract with AOMG in November last year, but due to the breakdown of trust between the two parties, it is expected that they will not be able to maintain their relationship and will end their contract prematurely.

However, it has been reported that an agreement to terminate the contract has not been reached due to differences in positions between Meenoi and AOMG. Some are leaving room for reconciliation amid this conflict, wondering whether the two sides can restore their relationship and continue their contract.

During a personal live broadcast last month, Meenoi tearfully admitted, "I have committed a sin," putting himself at the center of attention. It was later revealed that Meenoi abruptly canceled a shoot for a cosmetics brand two hours before it was scheduled, sparking controversy over her "no-show."

AOMG explained that the controversy stemmed from differences in understanding of authority during the process of signing the advertisement shooting contract. However, they expressed their intention to overcome the conflict and restore a harmonious relationship by stating, "We have completed smooth communication with Meenoi."

However, just a month later, Meenoi revealed the full story of the controversy, stating, "Now I can't stand it anymore." He disclosed that he had not received the contents of the advertisement contract and that her genuine stamp was different from the 'fake stamp' on the contract. Furthermore, he drew a line by saying that the 'no-show controversy' regarding the advertisement shoot was not of her own volition, stating that he had requested modifications to the contract conditions but they were not accommodated.

In response, AOMG released the contents of their conversation with Meenoi to a media outlet in the morning.

-It's not Meenoi who couldn't stand it, it was the company that couldn't.

-As expected.

-It seems like it's the company that can't stand it.

-Even if she leaves, she should compensate Brand P

-If they can't reach an agreement, won't it turn into a penalty dispute?

-Pay the penalty and get out...

-After doing this, where does she think she'll be welcomed?

-It doesn't seem like she'll be affiliated with any company in the future... maybe start her own one-person agency.

-Pay the penalty and leave 😠

-Let's just say goodbye.

-It seems like she thinks she's the boss.

-Seems hopeless.

-Oh dear, this person needs to get their act together.

-The agency should sue her at this point.

-What did Meenoi do before joining AOMG that made her so well taken care of?

-Which company would take her now...ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-The person who got cut off by the company...

-It seems like the company should sue her for spreading lies and defamation?

-There are always people like that.

-The money issue needs to be resolved first.

-The company is like a guardian angel... Theymust be going through a lot ㅠㅠㅠ

-They should just cut ties with her

Brand P CEO: "Curious about Meenoi's Reasons for Ad Absence Despite Apology" (Advertiser's Perspective)

As Meenoi continues to offer explanations regarding the controversy surrounding her absence from the advertisement shoot, Brand P's representative also expressed frustration.

On the 6th, Brand P's representative, Mr. A, vented his feelings in an interview with JTBC Entertainment News team, saying, "We don't want to argue, and we hope for a good resolution. When Meenoi released a new statement, we had many things we wanted to say, but we remained silent."

Meenoi was absent from the cosmetics brand P's advertisement shoot on January 30th. In response, her agency AOMG stated, "There was a discrepancy in understanding the authority to sign the advertising contract between our agency and the artist, resulting in the incident." They also apologized, promising to swiftly recover damages for the advertiser through measures such as returning the deposit and compensation.

However, Meenoi claims she was not properly informed about the contract terms and alleges that her agency forged the contract. Subsequently, a media outlet released messenger conversations between Meenoi and her agency AOMG, suggesting that Meenoi was already aware of the advertising contract and shoot. Despite this, on the 6th, Meenoi reaffirmed her stance during an Instagram live broadcast, stating, "I have never lied." She maintains that there were issues with the advertising terms and that she chose not to attend with the company's permission. However, during the live broadcast, Meenoi did not specify exactly what problems existed with the advertising terms.

Regarding this, Mr. A stated, "Upon reviewing it again, there were no issues with the advertising contract terms. Instead, we felt that AOMG was trying to accommodate the artist and showed consideration." He further expressed, "We had been preparing for this since last summer. We had many meetings with the advertising planning agency, and it was a challenging position to secure. It's very disappointing. Even after the incident, we had conversations with Meenoi and received apologies, but suddenly, we don't understand why this is happening. We are really curious about the reasons."

theqoo

-That brand really messed up by choosing the wrong model.

-It seems like the company suffered a lot of losses, but they're enduring it. I wonder why...

-I feel sorry for that brand...

-That brand must be going through a lot.

- Even the brand representative seems to be enduring losses and trying to make things seem good.

-The talk started last August. It's really absurd that Minoi demanded 100% of the contract fee upfront. In the past, they used to receive 50% before shooting and the rest after, but this time they demanded 100% upfront. It's suspicious. What kind of company gives an advance payment like that? Seriously.

-The brand representative must be really upset.

-Which brand is it... I want to support them by buying their products.

-Where's that P company? Show off the goods for the free marketing you got!!

-Wasn't she the one who cried and confessed their sin during the live broadcast? There was something after all.

-The brand is the biggest victim here. Isn't that brand quite famous?

-I was curious, so I looked up P company. I'll test it at Olive Young later and maybe buy it... sigh.

-What did the company do wrong, seriously?ㅜㅋㅋ

-What excuses will Meenoi's fans come up with now?

-The brand is seriously the most pitiful. They paid the money for the advertisement and ended up like this. Especially the person in charge of hiring Meenoi.

-The brand is the most pitiful. They must have prepared for months, from hiring to conceptualizing, only to fail on the day of the shoot.

-If it were me, I'd really want to quit my job.

-I've used Paparecipe, and it's good... The CEO seems like a good person. I hope things go well for them.

-So, shouldn't they clearly state which part of the contract was strange and what issues they had with the distribution?

Pictures from the set of the advertisement shoot where Meenoi was scheduled to attend

In the midst of the conflict between Meenoi and her agency AOMG over the advertisement no-show incident, exclusive photos of the beauty brand P's advertisement filming set, which Meenoi was scheduled to attend, have been obtained.

Photos of the P advertisement filming set, obtained exclusively by JTBC Entertainment News on the 6th, show that all preparations for the advertisement shoot, including the set, have been completed. Several staff members can be seen preparing for the shoot. The name "Meenoi," scheduled to appear as the model on that day, can be confirmed from the advertisement text. If Meenoi had attended as planned, the shoot could have proceeded.

However, Meenoi did not show up. As a result, it was reported that P incurred significant costs, including set production, rental, and staff expenses, without being able to proceed with the advertisement shoot.

A representative from P stated, "We had been preparing for this advertisement since last year. We worked really hard on it. We even set up the set the day before. We did our best. After the no-show incident, we didn't want to fight. We hoped for minimal impact on both the agency and Meenoi, the model." They further explained, "The compensation received was not in terms of penalties or damages, but rather only covered the minimum expenses incurred, such as the set and staff costs, which were prepared for the advertisement shoot."

theqoo

-Spending 200 million won for a day of advertisement shoot... If it were me, I'd pretend to die.

-But did the agency not inform her that there was a shoot scheduled?

ㄴMeenoi texted saying she wouldn't do it if her conditions weren't met & that she felt depressed, wasn't that on the 30th morning? The CEO was trying to convince her until the 30th, but she suddenly backed out a day or two before. What can you do even if she had told them then? It's not like the money and manpower invested by P would disappear. They would have already booked everything like rentals in advance, right? Since Meenoi discussed the shoot even before the 24th of January, which was the following Tuesday, who would have thought she would back out like this?

-Regardless, Meenoi should be 100% liable for damages personally.

-I wish I could do it instead...ㅋㅋ

-Hire meㅠ I'll do it for only 20 million won.

-Those poor employees stayed up all night because of that advertisement.

-Really, everything was prepared already... sigh...

-ㅡㅡ Seriously, this is too much.

-Why didn't she do it?

-All the schedules got messed up because of Meenoi alone. What about those people? Their time, cost, and future plans all went down the drain; is it just over if you don't go after receiving an upfront payment without properly checking the contract?

-No wonder she's afraid to take responsibility and cries on live broadcasts.

-Oh man, what to do? How will the staff cope with this, considering their time and effort...

-The staff who prepared and waited are the most pitiful..

-She's really something else.

-It seems like P might claim damages from her company, right?? The cost, the time, wow... What are they going to do about all that...;;

-She's 28 years old; if she were 18, maybe it would be different...

-They were working on this advertisement since August last year, but then she dropped it the day before the shoot. The agency CEO was begging her to do it, and even her manager went to pick her up, but Meenoi didn't show up until the end.

-The minimum of 200 people, including the cosmetic company, the advertising agency, and the production company, all their efforts went down the drain.

-I'll do it for 2 million won, please hire meㅠㅠ Damnㅜㅜ

-Both the agency and the advertising company are victims.

-It's really pathetic of her to stir up trouble and play the victim

-Looking at P Company's CEO's Instagram, it's just the model's fee that's reported, it could be between 5 billion and 10 billion won in execution budget... the budget for using a celebrity in ads is huge

-If I were an employee of the advertising company... just the thought is terrifying...

Shocking Recent Whereabouts of Idol-Turned-Female BJ

DIA Somyi, Transforms into a Solo BJ After Leaving the Group ... Agency Claims Her Contract was Terminated due to Health Issues

---

DIA Somyi Leaves the Team ... Starts Anew as BJ 'Chom-yi'

Former member of the girl group DIA, Somyi, is currently active as an online broadcast jockey (BJ) after terminating her exclusive contract with her agency.

According to her agency Pocket Doll Studio on the 9th, Somi recently terminated her exclusive contract with the agency due to health issues.

Somyi, who joined the girl group DIA in 2017 and began her career as a singer, gained recognition by appearing on the KBS2 entertainment program "Idol Rebooting Project - The Unit."

However, since December 2019, her absence from the group's activities became increasingly noticeable, and in June 2020, she was officially excluded from DIA's official activities, sparking rumors of her departure among fans.

Since November last year, Somyi has been spotted actively working as a BJ under the name "Chom-yi" on the internet broadcasting platform PandaTV. While there are various speculations among fans as PandaTV is a platform with a high proportion of adult content, Somi continues her personal broadcasts without expressing any particular stance.

Meanwhile, Somi, who is currently communicating through her BJ activities, is showcasing various contents including singing, fashion, and mukbang.

The articles poured out provocatively, as if becoming she was becoming an adult broadcast jockey.

The criticisms poured out as she was an idol.

She experienced identity crisis amidst overwhelming attention.

Feeling caught between the boundaries of being an idol and a BJ.

The weight of being a breadwinner at the young age of 24.

"Company CE Attempted Sexual Assault on Me" ... Former Girl Group Member BJ Sentenced for 'Unintended Crime' to Imprisonment

The prosecution sentenced A (24), who had been indicted without detention on charges of unintentional crime, to one year in prison during the decisive trial held under Judge Park So-jeong at the Seoul Central District Court on the 27th.

Once a member of a girl group, A, after suspending activities, worked as a BJ. She accused the agency representative, B, of attempting sexual assault in January last year, but B was not indicted for attempted rape by the police.

Afterward, A filed an objection against the non-indictment decision.

The prosecution, who took over the case, judged that A had falsely accused B out of spite after demanding that the agency representative break up with his girlfriend, which was rejected. They based their decision on closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and prosecuted A for an unintended crime.

During the trial, A stated, "I don't want the agency representative to be punished," but also argued, "However, it is not acceptable to claim that (B) tried to have sexual intercourse by agreement or harbored resentment because he didn't want to break up with his girlfriend."

In response, the prosecution submitted CCTV footage as evidence of unintentional crime immediately after the incident. The footage showed A slowly walking out of the room with B, walking around the office, and hugging B.

The sentencing date is scheduled for the 21st of next month at 10 a.m.

-˗ˋˏ Wow ˎˊ˗ ....

-Imprisonment...?

-Wow... That's intense.

-What does that mean, she asked the CEO to break up with his girlfriend? Why?
ㄴMaybe the CEO had a girlfriend, but was involved with A or cheating, so A asked him to break up with his girlfriend... When he didn't break up, A accused him of sexual assault unintentionally.

-Why live like that...

-Wow... That was Somyi...?

-What a mess...

-Unbelievable

-Is it really this person? I hoped things would work out for them somehow, but to be charged with an unintended crime... really...?

-Wow, so she was the one charged with an unintended crime....

-Her crimes are so terrible, but the related articles make it seem like the girl's perspective was... strange. She almost got sexually assaulted, but then she accused the CEO as the perpetrator, yet doesn't want him to be punished? So, what's going on? Even if the agency CEO is a jerk, to frame him as a sexual assailant is not right...

-Because of people like her, genuine victims of sexual violence are ridiculed and insulted.

-Oh my god

-The captured image from her broadcast looks like an adult content, right?

-Ah, but reading again, it's a conviction, not a sentence yet. So, even if guilty, she might get a suspended sentence. Well, the judge could also declare her innocent, or there might be things we don't know yet.

-Was she the BJ in the article...? Ugh, I can't stand this anymore.

-Doing the most to earn money easily while wearing those clothes and turning on the cam, it's just... what's going on with society?

-According to the article, there's other evidence too, like the agency CEO having an affair with the former idol... "The prosecution, which integrated evidence such as CCTV footage and mobile messenger conversations, concluded that there was no attempted rape and shifted the investigation to A's unintentional crime charges. Ultimately, the prosecution considered that there was no forcible sexual assault attempt by the agency CEO and charged A with unintentional crime, believing that A had an intention. As evidence, A submitted CCTV footage showing her calmly walking out of the office and walking around inside, as well as hugging the CEO affectionately. The prosecution believes that A harbored resentment after demanding that the CEO break up with his girlfriend and being rejected." Source --> https://imnews.imbc.com/news/2024/society/article/6575343_36438.html

-The article isn't provocative, it's her clothes that are provocative...

-Seriously, can't we just earn money and live properly like everyone else?
