We kindly ask for your understanding as we are compelled to release multiple statements due to HYBE’s relentless and irrational media manipulation.
Team Bunnies is a group of dedicated Bunnies actively working across various fields, including law, media, finance, culture, and the arts. While leading our daily lives with integrity, we also support NewJeans with pure intentions and are responding proactively to the current situation.
Today, after former CEO Min Hee-jin’s interview with JoongAng Ilbo was published, we received reports from a contact within the JoongAng Ilbo group that HYBE's PR CCO (Chief Communications Officer) Park Tae-hee had made unreasonable demands to remove Bang Si-hyuk's name from the article, and even went so far as to request the article be deleted entirely.
Additionally, we have received further reports from multiple journalists that HYBE exerted pressure and interfered with reporter Jang Hyung-woo’s job transition. We must ask: Is it acceptable in 2024 for the head of PR at a private corporation to interfere with the future employment of a whistleblower, simply because the journalist acted in accordance with media ethics?
At present, the content being distributed by NewJeans, former CEO Min Hee-jin, and Team Bunnies is being covered by only a few select outlets, while many entertainment media outlets are overwhelmingly reporting HYBE’s one-sided claims. This has created a significant imbalance in the distribution of information.
Even after yesterday's exposé, HYBE continues to pressure media outlets with unreasonable demands for article revisions, while engaging in severe defamation and rumor-mongering against whistleblower Jang Hyung-woo, obstructing his career transition, invading his privacy, and pressuring other companies. We strongly demand that these organized and unjust actions be stopped immediately.
We call on CCO Park Tae-hee to cease his underhanded circulation of rumors and stop burdening others. If you are confident in your stance, step forward and represent the company publicly, defending it with clear evidence and facts. The damage to your reputation as a PR officer is a result of your own decisions, and it is unacceptable to try to ruin someone else’s life just because your own path has been blocked.
HYBE must realize that the truth can no longer be covered up by any means.
