HYBE states, "It's not true that an overseas PR agency distributed defamatory materials. The (PR agency) in question responded, 'We have never distributed any materials regarding Director Min and that claims were lies.'" HYBE further argued, "Even Billboard columnist Jeff Benjamin never said he received any defamatory materials about Director Min."
In response, Jeff Benjamin said, "I don't want to be personally involved in this story. I'm releasing the following screenshots of my communications of both sides," and shared Kakao Talk messages he exchanged with former ADOR CEO Min Heejin, as well as emails he sent to HYBE to confirm the details related to ADOR.
In the Kakao Talk exchange, Jeff Benjamin told Min Heejin, "I received new claims from HYBE. I have been writing about this story inlcuding your press conferences and NewJeans' live stream (for Billboard). During this time, HYBE sent a statement to Billboard."
To this, Min Heejin responded, "So, HYBE sent this, right? That's really crazy," expressing her disbelief.
Another screenshot shows an email Jeff Benjamin sent to HYBE requesting confirmation regarding information he had received from another source.
Regarding to the Tweet posted by Jeff Benjamin, HYBE's head of PR commented, "We have never lied. If you look at the Kakao Talk messages, the phrase 'this' isn't clearly defined. What does 'this' refer to? We are currently trying to confirm its meaning." They also clarified, “We did not respond to the email Jeff Benjamin sent to HYBE Global Communications on September 11.”
