According to OSEN's coverage on the 13th, tvN's new drama 'Resident Playbook' is preparing to be released next year. The drama is gaining interest within the industry, especially as it's planned to be released in the summer.

In recent years, domestic broadcasters and OTT platforms have been flooded with legal and medical dramas, with doctors and lawyers being some of the most frequently seen characters. However, when residents in the medical field submitted mass resignations in opposition to the government's medical school expansion policy last year, leading to a prolonged healthcare strike, 'medical dramas' were put on hold. An industry insider told OSEN, "We are considering to release 'Resident Playbook' in summer 2025," drawing attention. The highly anticipated CJ ENM tvN medical drama 'Resident Playbook' which was initially postponed to the second half of the year due to the prolonged doctors' strike which began with mass resignations, has been completely canceled.

The strike which was initially expected to be resolved soon, has been prolonged as public resentment grows, making medical dramas forced to give up altogether in the future.

According to industry reports on the 13th, 'Resident Playbook,' which was expected to air in the second half of the year, has been removed from the 2024 drama lineup. Some doubts whether it will be aired at all.

At a time when people are severely suffering great damage due to the strike, airing medical drama could face heavy backlash. 'Resident Playbook' is a drama about the dedication of doctors and medical residents towards their patients. 

'Resident Playbook' was originally scheduled to air in May as the follow-up to tvN 'Queen of Tears.' However, the broadcast has been postponed to the second half of the year due to the strike. The drama was also set to air on Netflix, but with the cancellation, the broadcasting company may even face penalties.

Spin off of Hospital Playlist, Wise Resident Life, drops their teaser

-No matter how much it's a spin-off, the title doesn't really attract me..ㅋㅋ

-Go Yoon-jung really stands out.

-I was really looking forward to this writer, but now I don't want to watch it anymore.ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅠㅠ Bad timing.

-Just like I can't watch detective dramas anymore, I feel the same about medical dramas. They've made people too cool, it's cringy.

-It's really turned into a fantasy drama.

-The timing is awful..

-It seems interestingㅋ like Marvel.

-I have high expectations for Go Yoon-jung...

-If the ending is all of them opening a dermatology clinic in Gangnam together, it might be realistic~
