Former Fifty Fifty Members Saena, Aran, and Sio to Re-debut Under New Group Amid Legal Dispute with Former Agency
by Journalist Jang Jinri
Former Fifty Fifty members Saena, Aran, and Sio, who are currently embroiled in a 13 billion KRW lawsuit against their former agency ATTRAKT, have revealed their decision to resume their entertainment activities.
The three members have signed an exclusive contract with Massive E&C, a label under IOK Company. They are set to re-debut as part of a new girl group in the second half of this year.
Notably, Saena, Aran, and Sio are engaged in an ongoing lawsuit against ATTRAKT, seeking damages amounting to 13 billion KRW. They had previously filed for an injunction to suspend their exclusive contracts, but lost the case after an appeal.
Following this, ATTRAKT has filed a lawsuit against the three members, their parents, and twelve other individuals including The Givers’ CEO An Sungil, who was implicated in the contract dispute, with the first trial scheduled for the 29th.
IOK Company stated that the three members, who were key figures in Fifty Fifty’s global success, will continue their careers in a new group.
A representative for Saena, Aran, and Sio told SPOTV News on the 12th, "We are doing our best to ensure that the members' perspectives are fully represented in the ongoing legal proceedings." They added, "We are cautious about making any official statements before the trial, but we plan to address any grievances through the court."
Saena, Aran, and Sio will retain their stage names from their Fifty Fifty days in their new group. The representative confirmed, "All three members will continue to use their stage names, and we have verified that there are no legal issues with this."
Meanwhile, Fifty Fifty has restructured their group following the departure of these three members. Original member Kina has been joined by new members Chanelle, Hana, Yewon, and Athena, and the group is set to release new music on September 20.
-They're clearly trying to ride on Fifty Fifty's success, and it's obvious.
-The new company that took them in is just as questionable as the members themselves... Honestly, I'm done with them.
-Yeah, go make money and pay off your penalties...
-It's seriously annoying that they’re doing this while Fifty Fifty is making a comeback.
-Why is that company trying to take such a risk?
-Except for Aran, I don’t really know them, and their styling and vibe aren't anything special. The fact that they released this news on the day of Fifty Fifty Athena's teaser is just so off...
-Well, it’d be nice if both groups do well, right? Fighting.
-How about naming their new group "The Quitters"?
-The new agency is just as shameless.
-How are they so shameless?
-They claim they're not Fifty Fifty anymore, but they sure are promoting hard using the name.
-Wow, there's actually an agency that took them in.
-It's seriously annoying that they’re doing this while Fifty Fifty is making a comeback.
-Work hard to pay off those penalties.
-Better work hard if you want to pay those fees.

BTS' fandom is in chaos
모두가 피해를 입고 있습니다 빠른 결단 부탁드립니다
— 방탄소년단 음원정보팀 (52Hz) (@ARMY52Hz) August 9, 2024
Everyone is suffering. Please make a quick decision.
On Twitter, there's a lot of arguing and chaos after a big account mentioned about 'Withdrawal (from the group)'.
Fans are fighting about whether 'He should withdraw from the group' and 'Is it okay to post something like that when it's not a personal account in the first place?'
-Normally, this is something one would only say on their personal accounts. But given the situation, I think it's right to raise the issue on a big platform like that. I support that fan account.
-Even if it's your favorite idol, it's understandable to lose affection over this.
-It's not easy for a big account to do that. I'm actually grateful. Of course, he should withdraw. He’s a criminal. Please leave, Min Yoongi.
-Logically, if fans shield this, everything BTS has will be tarnished. Fans shouldn’t shield this.
-It’s a common rule that accidents lead to fights. The fans of the other members can’t avoid being upset with the problematic member.
-Are they seriously defending a drunk driver...?
-Whether they post it or not, it doesn’t matter. The situation is already a mess.
-It seems better for him to leave the group, but I wonder if he will actually do that.
-What can fans do now?
-Honestly, I just want the group to disband. It’s already tainted, and there’s no point in keeping it.
-He needs to leave. If he doesn't, the group's activities will be impacted.
-I don’t think there’s a good solution to this problem. The fandom is really going crazy.
-If he doesn't leave the group, it'll only get worse.
-The group needs to make a decision soon.
-This whole situation is really sad. I just want it to end.
-If he doesn't leave the group, the group’s reputation will continue to decline.

-Over 0.2%? Wow.
-0.2% is insane.
-As expected, being world-class comes with extraordinary numbers.
-Suga is at the top, truly world-class.
-Maybe because he's world-class, the scale is different.
-Topping the charts with drunk driving, congratulations.
-How much do you have to drink to reach 0.2%? This is record-breaking. Will he write a song about this too?
-Lizzy got hit with a huge fine. Did she damage property or something?
ㄴI found out she hit a taxi. In May 2021, while driving near the southern intersection of Yeongdong Bridge in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Lizzy caused a rear-end collision with a taxi ahead of her. At the time of the accident, Lizzy's blood alcohol level was 0.08%, a level that results in license revocation.
-As expected of a superstar, on another level.
-Lizzy is the only female idol on the list?
-2PM has two members who got caught drunk driving.
-At 0.2%, aren't you basically alcohol itself?
