-What's the point of this post?

-The ratio seems to be around 6:4 now, which is not significantly different from before, but it's surprising that the amount of attendees in 30s and 40s have increased

-If it's around 6:4, it's common and not particularly male-oriented. There are a lot of commenters who are too harsh.

-So, what's your point? What do you want to say? No matter how much you dislike this team... what does it matter?

-I didn't care about LE SSERAFIM at all, but after listening to their songs, I became a fan.

-Rounding up to roughly 6:4, isn't that fine...? Why is everyone so obsessed with the gender ratio all of a sudden..

-??? I'm not a fan, but... What's the big deal...? They're all fans who spend money to go there anyway;

-What's the point of all this fussㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-? What's changed?

-As long as it's sold out, why bother about the gender ratio?

-Female fans must be having a hard timeㅋㅋ especially in the standing area...

-It's interesting that the gender ratio changed dramatically within a year...

-These days, LE SSERAFIM is getting all sorts of criticism

-It's a girl group, so of course there would be a high ratio of male fans, right...;; Really, what a thing to get worked up over...

-The editing is really well done, Kim Hyeyoon suits romantic comedy

An accurate review of Kim Hyeyoon's acting

Caption:

Film critic Jeong Deokhyun left a review, and I really agree with his assessment of Hyeyoon. He mentioned, 'Despite being a whimsical fantasy, her acting strangely makes it believable, portraying a character with fluctuating emotions, yet immersing us deeply into the role. She creates a believable fantasy with her acting.'

Clip:

And what I can't help but praise in this work is Kim Hyeyoon's acting. Actually, I felt that way even in the past, in 'Extraordinary You.' It's a fantasy drama, you know. It's unbelievable how she portrays a fantasy story, that can be quite whimsical, in such a way that strangely seems real. She has this charm and liveliness, and when her character suddenly explodes with emotions, she brings it out so purely and openly that viewers see this character as someone with a lot of emotional ups and downs. Yet, despite that, she immerses us so deeply into the character. I think Kim Hyeyoon is quite a promising actress. I have high expectations for her future performances. So, in this work as well, Kim Hyeyoon is showing acting that makes the fantasy believable from start to finish. That's why I think if we follow along with Kim Hyeyoon, we naturally become fans of Byun Woo-seok, and that process makes the whole story quite exciting.

Exactly my thought.

theqoo

-Agreed.

-Agreed. Kim Hyeyoon's acting is really good. Sol is the character that only Kim Hyeyoon can pull off.

-She's an acting genius, not gonna lie.

-Yeah, she's a great actress.

-I really think Kim Hyeyoon will be a big actress.

-Agreed! She's really good.

-Agreed. She handles emotional changes extremely well

-Exactly. Hyeyoon's past works are all really good.

-She's sooooo good at acting.

-Agreed. She's a great actress who leads the drama really well. Her acting is great.

-If you read her dialogues as text, it might feel cringy, but her acting doesn't have any of that feeling at all.

-Kim Hyeyoon's acting is so good.

-Exactly, just as I thought.

-Agreed. I couldn't express it in words, but he summarized it well.

-Yeah, if it weren't for Kim Hyeoon, it would have been hard to empathize with Sol. Kim Hyeyoon's portrayal of Sol allows us to immerse ourselves more deeply into Sunjae's perspective.

-That's right, Kim Hyeyoon's acting persuades even in fantasy situations, and she seamlessly brings us into the emotions of each moment. Her acting is really impressive this time.

-Seriously, she turns cringy lines into convincing acting... I usually don't even watch this kind of drama, but her acting is so good.

-How does she do that kind of acting?

-She's naturally good at acting

-Right, she makes us understand Sunjae's emotions too.

-Agreed. I usually can't immerse myself in fantasy, but her acting is so good, it's convincing.

The Reason Why HYBE Can't Last Long

Committing fraud once or twice is possible, but they can't keep doing it forever. HYBE's specialized technique is precisely Sajaegi. As already revealed in court, they used brokers for Sajaegi.

-If they sold 10 copies before, they'll sell only 9 now. So, they won't go under anytime soon. Even with big controversies, there have always been fans willing to buy, haven't there?

-Hmm, their image and success are not necessarily related. Even YG didn't go under despite the controversies; people might hesitate to boycott due to music quality, though...

-People get tired easily if they keep deceiving. The problem is, when people get tired of HYBE, the entire K-pop scene might suffer.

-There's also YGㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-I also thought YG was going to fail spectacularly, but they're still doing well, right?

-That might be why HYBE can't last long in the entertainment industry. YG might have other issues, but at least they don't do Sajaegi.

-The Sajaegi isn't exactly the reason why, it's the plagiarism

-If HYBE fails, then the K-pop market will fail... The downfall of Kpop is getting closer, and HYBE seems to be the main culprit accelerating this.

-If HYBE ever fails, it's probably because of mismanagement...

-Even if YG was dirty, at least they have talent and didn't ruin the whole industry.

The number of male idols who have localized has increased quite a bit.

SM

WayV

NCT Wish

JYP

Boy Story

Nexz

HYBE

&TEAM

CJ

INI

JO1

Of course, there are female idols who have localized as well.

※ Why Localization?

Entertainment companies in South Korea generally share similar thoughts: they reach a limit in producing idols (things like reaching overseas market) -> mix in locals -> encounter another limit (like political issues) -> let's stick to locals only (current stage).

But now, even localization strategies have shifted:

-> It's hard to capture the domestic market, and localized groups usually don't gain a lot of international fans -> This affects their promotional activities in South Korea, attracting global attention, and gaining popularity in South Korea => Tend to actively promote in South Korea first before changing their directions

+ Localization is often just a facade. Companies now introduce newcomers without distinguishing them as localized, essentially no different from existing idol activities, so there's no reason to label them as such.

theqoo

-I only know NCT Wish

-Is EXO-M the first in this field?

-A smart way to exploit locals to earn foreign currency, without tax evasion.

-If they're going to work in Korea, they need to study history properly before coming.

-So should we call them a Korean group? Or should we call them a group from that country?

-This is all new to me.

-Among the Japanese localized teams, NCT WISH has the most simultaneous activities in Korea and Japan, and the rest mainly just stays in Japan. However, as the other comment has stated, they are gradually adding the title of global group as they do a few activities on Korean music shows. I wonder what direction NEX7 will take.

-I'm just... I quit being a fan and stopped paying attention to idol gossip, but seeing this... I mean, I appreciate various attempts, but it doesn't feel like K-pop to me. Why only recruit foreigners and then make them do activities in Korea? It seems like they still treat Korean fans or the public as fools. It just makes me less interested in idols.

-NCT WISH seems to be putting a lot of effort into learning Korean, and you can see the members are close.

-In the end, it seems like it will end up with a mix of Koreans and foreigners, centered around Koreans again. Localized groups like in the post may gain popularity solely within the country but may not attract a pure K-pop fandom overseas... For example, if it's a Japanese localized group, they'll just become a Japanese J-pop group and only be seen by J-pop fans...

-Anyway, there are already so many idols, and now even localized idols are releasing albums and performing in Korea, and they're even appearing on year-end stages, so I feel like they're interfering too much...

-That's why they aren't remembered much as Kpop idols. I only know the group names vaguely.

-If you're going to come out on Korean music shows, bring Korean songs... It's really annoying to see them sing in Chinese or English.

-What were entertainment companies in Korea thinking when they created localized idols?

-I wish WayV would do more activities in Koreaㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ They've been on Korean broadcasts recently, but it would be nice if they released some Korean songs...

-I only know WayV and NCT Wish.

-WayV and NCT Wish just seem like Korean groups to me...ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-But is it because NCT Wish has Korean members? The members are really good at Korean... It seems like they'll become really popular in Korea.

-Honestly, I don't like them.

(G)I-DLE's song that received the biggest opposition from their company

'I almost used another artist's song many times.'

Even after LATATA, the company continued to do blind tests between Jeon Soyeon's songs vs songs by external composers

'The company kept saying that they didn't like DUMDi DUMDi'

After listening to DUMDi DUMDi, people at the company said they didn't like it and kept opposing the song.

'They kept trying to make us receive songs from other artists instead'

'It was seriously no joke. It was really tough back then. We fought really hard.'

Everyone at the company was against it.

'I just said, 'I'll take responsibility. 'DUMDi DUMDi' will definitely be a hit'

Jeon Soyeon said she would take responsibility, insisting that it would definitely be a hit.

'But in terms of results, it was the best among our songs at the time.'

Looking back, DUMDi DUMDi was the most successful among their other songs at that time.

'You showed and proved it.' 'The fight ended there.'

After that, the company began to trust her more.

However, it must have been a bold move for a rookie group to release a self-composed track in their rookie days, and I think it's natural for the company to have worried about it.

+Furthermore, it turns out that the members also opposed it.

The reason for the members' opposition was that it was too different from the previous songs they had released, like "Hann," "Senorita," "Uh-Oh," "Lion," "Oh my god"...

+My favorite part

The behind the scenes of DUMDi DUMDi

DUMDi DUMDi" is a song that I think will be cherished for a long time to come. The meaning of "DUMDi DUMDi" is 'youth,' and I wanted to record myself as I am now, the only one who can represent me at this moment. Youth. I believe I'm enjoying my youth to the fullest at the moment. Especially, I think I enjoy my work a lot, with a lot of passion and enthusiasm. This song is intense, so it represents my passion. I hope many of you can relate to it, whether it's in work or love. Youth is like a refreshing breeze blowing through the fiery passion, a pleasant feeling that can cool it down or make it even hotter.

When I'm 100 years old, if I ask Neverlands, 'How was I when I was young, our Neverlands?' all Neverlands have to do is play "DUMDi DUMDi" for me. It's a song that encapsulates my burning passion for anything at the moment.

-Jeon Soyeon on her V Live, 2020.08.03

The song that came after "DUMDi DUMDi" had an ethnic concept, Hwaa.

-I like DUMDi DUMDi.

-I don't like it much. It felt like a song from Zootopia.
ㄴIt was actually inspired by Zootopia

-In my opinion, among all of (G)I-DLE's songs, DUMDi DUMDi seems the most mainstream. I personally liked songs like 'Oh my god' the most, but DUMDi DUMDi was okay too. I think it's the perfect song for summer.

-I wasn't into it at first, but the more I listened, the better it got.

-I like this one. 'DUMDi DUMDi' was my summer jam.

-It's interesting how opinions are so divided in the comment section.

-I've listened to DUMDi DUMDi the most out of all (G)I-DLE's songs... it's surprising.

-I remember DUMDi DUMDi when summer comes. It's so nice.

-This song reminds me of summer.

-They have no taste. I thought 'DUMDi DUMDi' was the most mainstream among (G)I-DLE's songs, and it had a good timing for taking a minor turn.

-I can understand why the company reacted that way. To be honest, I didn't listen to 'DUMDi DUMDi' much then or nowㅋㅋ

-It doesn't seem like a typical (G)I-DLE song, so I understand why the company opposed it.

-I didn't like it much at first, but now I listen to it every summer

-I wasn't into it, lacked impact... but if the composer herself liked it, that's what matters.

-It's the only (G)I-DLE song in my playlist.

-Personally, I wasn't a big fan, but it seemed like the right time for (G)I-DLE to try this easy-listening type of song. Their previous songs were hard to sing along to and had strong conceptual images, so they needed a more mainstream song.

-I listen to it every summer.

-Even as a fan, I was a bit disappointed with DUMDi DUMDi. I wanted it to be refreshing for summer, but it felt somewhat ambiguous.

-Oh, opinions are really divided. I love this song. I don't like summer, but I love the summer vibe in this song.

-It's easy to listen to, so I've listened to it a lot

-I really liked DUMDi DUMDi. This was when I got to know (G)I-DLE.

-I understand why the company reacted that way. It was different from what they had been doing... I don't listen to DUMDi DUMDi much because I preferred their previous songs, but it seemed like it resonated well with the public

-I really liked DUMDi DUMDi. I started paying attention to (G)I-DLE from this song. I still listen to it every summer or when I go for a drive.

-Among (G)I-DLE's songs, I love DUMDi DUMDi the most. It's really good haha. But when I first heard it, I thought it wasn't a (G)I-DLE's song, it felt more like something from Oh My Girl's genre
