-I wish only those who sing well would become singers, seriously. They should be at least this good to be considered singers

Will New Jeans Follow TVXQ's Footsteps? ... Possibility of Contract Termination Lawsuit

There is speculation that New Jeans may file a lawsuit against HYBE to terminate their contract, just like the approach that was taken by TVXQ's to end their contract with SM Entertainment.

According to legal sources on May 1st, ADOR plans to hold a board and shareholders meeting later this month. On the previous day, attorney Lee Sokyun, representing ADOR, met with reporters after the hearing for shareholders meeting permit application at the Seoul Western District Court. Lee announced, "The board meeting will be held by May 10th, and the shareholders meeting will take place by the end of May."

Earlier, HYBE had announced plans to hold a shareholders meeting to dismiss Min Heejin as the CEO of ADOR. HYBE and Min Heejin have each appointed attorneys specializing in mergers and acquisitions to prepare for intense legal battles. There are speculations that this lawsuit could involve hundreds of billions won.

In the industry, people are watching to see what choices New Jeans' members will make. If HYBE and Min Heejin reach an agreement and maintain their contract, it's unlikely that New Jeans will cancel their contract with HYBE. However, if HYBE gains the upper hand and successfully removes Min Heejin, the whole situation will change. According to Min Heejin, New Jeans' members are really close to her. They even cried and called her when they heard she was facing the risk of dismissal, even offered to explain directly through their fan communication application. "Given the situation, it's possible that New Jeans may file for an injunction lawsuit to terminate their contract with HYBE, siding with Min Heejin."

Previously, TVXQ filed an injunction lawsuit against SM Entertainment in 2009. At that time, three members of TVXQ (Xiah Junsu, Hero Jaejoong, and Mickey Yoochun) emphasized the unfairness, stating that "A 13-year contract is essentially a lifetime contract." The court partially accepted their request. Interestingly, this case was also handled by the same law firm that handles HYBE-ADOR dispute.

If New Jeans were to make a similar decision as TVXQ, the main issue would be whether if HYBE treated them unfairly, just like what Min Heejin claimed. It's also important to determine if it can be proven that the contract was so disadvantageous as to warrant its cancellation.

However, even if an injunction is filed, as in the case of TVXQ, if some members of the group do not agree to the injunction, in the worst case scenario, the situation could escalate to the point of the group splitting up.

-No, New Jeans doesn't have a reason to leave. Also, why bring TVXQ into this and cause trouble?

-What did the kids do wrong?ㅠㅠ

-Why is TVXQ mentioned here?

-TVXQ was literally under a slave contract.. it has nothing to do with this

-HYBE's negative publicity is disgusting. New Jeans is probably too busy preparing for their promotions now, what the hell.

-Grown-ups fighting like this is really pathetic. Not to mention dragging kids into this negative publicity? What are they doing?

-Reading articles like this only makes me support New Jeans even more

-Crazy bastards, the girls are making a comeback next month and you're making them listen to this nonsense.

-HYBE didn't even want to debut them and doesn't treat them well, but still wants to take advantage of them?

-This must be HYBE's attempt at getting negative publicity for New Jeans.

-Is this their attempt at getting negative publicity for New Jeans? Trying to make the girls look bad??

-HYBE, are you f**king kidding me? Is this how you do negative publicity?

-This is just speculation.

-HYBE, you're disgusting.

-Sihyuk, you're despicable.

-This is nonsense.

-They're writing novels. Turning speculation into news.

-New Jeans, if you want to leave, just leave. I respect any decisions you make.

Is Time on Min Heejin's Side? HYBE Losing Ground on 'Justification'

It's been a week since the conflict between HYBE and CEO Min Heejin surfaced. With CEO Min Heejin's refusal to hold a board meeting as requested by HYBE, it might take another month before HYBE holds the board meeting as planned. It is expected that the battle will escalate to CEO Min Heejin's final dismissal.

Meanwhile, public opinions are changing. As public sentiment now shifts towards CEO min Heejin's side after the press conference, suspicions against HYBE are growing. During this process, there are worries regarding the decline of HYBE's multi-label system and the competitiveness of its intellectual property. Moreover, many also worried that HYBE's effort to to stop others from taking control of management may ultimately lead to their own downfall.

According to sources, the Seoul Western District Court will conduct a meeting regarding the shareholders' meeting as requested by HYBE at 4.35 PM today (30th).

Since HYBE's request to hold a board meeting with ADOR was refused by CEO Min Heejin on the 22nd, it will take about 3 weeks for the court to schedule investigation and reach a final decision. After making their decision, the court will issue a notice of shareholder meeting, and it will take another 15 days for the actual meeting to be held. It is expected that the meeting will not take place until early June, at the earliest. Considering there are many holidays in May and June, there's also a possibility the meeting will be delayed until mid-June or even later.

Even if HYBE dismisses CEO Min Heejin after the meeting, it seems like the legal dispute will still continue. According to Article 385-1 of the Commercial Act, if a director is dismissed before the expiration of their contract without justifiable reason, they can claim damages against the company. Justifiable reasons mentioned here include violations of laws, difficulties in handling duties due to mental or physical incapacity, and loss of fundamental trust in management capabilities due to failure in business planning and execution. However, court interpretation is required in these cases.

Another matter of concern is CEO Min Heejin's 18% stake in ADOR after dismissal. There might be future revisions regarding HYBE's call options on CEO Min Heejin's stake and CEO Min Heejin's put option authority. Attorney Lee Sookyun, representing CEO Min Heejin, noted in the press conference, "There were unreasonable aspects in the shareholders' agreement that was made last year between HYBE and CEO Min Heejin. Therefore, we have been negotiating for a re-negotiation this year." Hence, it is anticipated that legal disputes related to stake management will escalate in the future.

Analysis suggests that as the dispute continues, it seems like HYBE has more to lose. First of all, there are concerns about the failure of their multi-label system. This system could ironically lead to a decline in their competitiveness. As an investment banking industry insider remarked, "The essence of management disputes ultimately boils down to a battle of legitimacy; it's about who has the better reasons. It's a battle to see who's more justified: HYBE, who is concerned about losing control of their management, or CEO Min Heejin, who has raised allegations of internal whistleblowing and unfair contracts."

theqoo

-By now, HYBE must be regretting it, right? Or are they getting even angrier?

-Does HYBE even have their own color? It's just a company that has expanded its size without any substance.

-Let's just admit HYBE is a flop.

-HYBE, please consider public opinion for once.

-Min Heejin has to win.

-HYBE has already lost the game.

-In the end, Cinderella always wins. (NB: This refers to Min Heejin's remarks on the press conference -> 'Even though her stepmother and sisters always harass her, in the end, Cinderella always wins.')

-Cutting off the person who does their job the best is ridiculous.

-Cinderella, let's win. We can do it, be strong!

-Cinderella must win. Isn't society too corrupt? Let Min Heejin win.

-HYBE, go bankrupt.

-HYBE has already lost if you look at public opinion.

-Well, I also hope Min's side wins, but it's not easy because they're going through legal procedures...

-HYBE, go bankrupt because in the end, Cinderella always wins.

-Fighting, Min Heejin ㅜㅜ

-Min Heejin is the one who created the image of HYBE's girl group, but they're trying to kick her out lol. Just go bankrupt, HYBE.

-No, they should just apologize now and end it. It's absurd that the entertainment company, which receives the most public attention, disregards public opinion and stubbornly sticks to its pride without doing anything.

-HYBE might as well go bankrupt. They're doing things that are really disgusting. They brought in a brilliant woman, and now that she's doing so well, they're trying to kick her out because they don't like her. What a disgraceful act.

-I don't really know, but I support Min Hee-jin.

ILLIT and New Jeans from the perspective of currently active producer and choreographer

It's quite noisy now. Since the debut of ILLIT, there have been a lot of discussions. We've talked about it a few times, "When we see ILLIT, we think of New Jeans." But when it comes to ILLIT, the vibe was too similar from the start. We talked about it, and although there were many supporters, there were a lot of similar opinions. "It's the same company, so what can you do?" But because these labels are all independent companies, even though it's understandable for the genre's characteristics, the choreography and visual aspects are too similar, making me wonder if it's okay for the same company to do this. The recording date is Tuesday, April 23rd, I don't know how the dispute will end, but anyways you look at it, I'm disappointed either way. There's a part that worries me a little. In the K-pop scene, with big companies continuously producing similar groups and continuously hitting, self-replication. I hope this is an opportunity for something different.

-It feels like they copied the concept and promotion, but the concept and song are really different. I understand the visual similarities though.

-When you see ILLIT, you think of New Jeans, but when you see ILLIT, you don't think of New Jeans. That's it. They blatantly stole the choreography, it's obvious. They blatantly stole it to the point where New Jeans choreographers were angry. But they're all Big Hit's assets anyway.

-Sorry to the fans... but they look like New Jeans 2.0,,,,

-When ILLIT debuted, there was honestly a ton of talk about them being similar to New Jeans, even on The Qoo.

-Even if they argue that the details are different, what's the point? The overall framework is similarㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋThe public naturally gets confused.

-Honestly, when I didn't know much about New Jeans or AILEEET, just listening to the song made me think it was New Jeans comebackㅋㅋ If you dig deeper, there are differences, which is obvious, since they're two different groups.. But if you listen while passing by, you won't notice the differences.

-Aren't they the biggest entertainment company in Korea? Can't they try more diverse and different attempts?

-Anyone can see it's damn similar.

-It's not self-replication. They copied what Min Heejin didㅋㅋ

-I found out about ILLIT through this incident and looked them up on searching engines, but the more I look, the more different they look to New Jeans...

-If there was no New Jeans, there would probably be no ILLIT either.. But the main text in the YouTube video also says a lot of wrong information.

-If they weren't from the same label, there would have been a bigger fuss.

Kim Soohyun crying at the last filming of Queen of Tears

Ah... Doing it like this, yeah... Feels relieving. It's just sinking in now.
(Hyunwoo struggles to find words to express his feelings...ㅠㅠ)
Doing such a packed... Lengthy drama like this is a first time for me. So I feel kind of strange too...
(Embarrassed because he's crying)

Queen of Tears, fighting!

I think he cried because he lived as Baek Hyunwoo for almost a year, as he acted out all sorts of emotions.

-Ah, noooㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

'Queen of Tears' Park Sunghoon, 'Dilemma as He Lost His Name to 'Jun Jaejoon' ... Considering to Change His Name

"I loved being Jang Gorae and Jun Jaejoon. But why even in the comments section of 'Queen of Tears', they still call me Jun Jaejoon? There were people who called me Eunseong, and that made me feel somewhat relieved. I hope that someday, instead of Jun Jaejoon, Yoon Eunseong, or Jang Gorae, I'll be remembered as Park Sunghoon. That made me realize that I need to strive in various works."

Park Sunghoon confessed that he head thoughts about changing his name, "I had a slight consideration about changing my name. I just want to be known as Park Sunghoon, to have people associate my face with the name 'Park Sunghoon.' I thought about changing my last name to something unique like 'Tak Sunghoon', 'Jegal Sunghoon, ' or 'Dokgo Sunghoon.' I even received a name from a naming center recently, spending 350,000 KRW for the name 'Park Daeyoon.' Although it would've been better to change it, I felt it would be a waste of the 'Park Sunghoon' that I've built so far. Even if not everyone, many people already remember 'Park Sunghoon.' So I thought, 'What's the point of changing my name?'

Not Park Daeyoon.

theqoo

-Daeyoon doesn't seem to fit him..

-Instead of Park Daeyoon, I'd rather have Park Jaejoon.

-What's with Park Daeyoon, absolutely nope.

-What's with Park Daeyoon, just be Park Sunghoon.

-Sorry, but somehow the name Jaejoon fits him perfectly.. Although I've perfectly memorized Park Sunghoon's name, I have to admit that he looks like a Jaejoonㅜㅜㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-Yeah, even I called him Jun Jaejoon while watching 'Queen of Tears'..ㅋ

-Even foreigners call him Jaejoonㅋㅋㅋ

-Park Daeyoon is really not it ㅠ

-Because the name Jeon Jaejoon fits so perfectly than his other characters...

-Male actor who's lost his name: Goo Junpyo, Jun Jaejoon

-Jun Jaejoon fits him like a glove

-But your face fits Park Sunghoon the best. Don't change your name.

-Park Daeyoon is an absolute no-no!

-Park Sunghoon fits Jaejoon perfectly, but I hope he'll also play more positive roles in the future, so let's stick with Park Sunghoonㅋㅋ

-I'm sorry, I won't call you Jun Jaejoon anymore, don't become Park Daeyoonㅜㅜ I'll call you Park Sunghoon..

-Tak Sunghoonㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-No, seriously, Jun Jaejoon's name fits him too perfectly. And he's so good at acting his character that it's hard to break away from itㅜㅜㅜㅜㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-Park Sunghoon is the best... Jun Jaejoon's character is just too trash...why bother using that name as his stage name...

-You don't need any other name. Either it's Park Sunghoon or use Jun Jaejoon as your stage name. But it's just because you've so perfectly digested the role of Jun Jaejoon that I can't think of anything else!!!

-Jun Jaejoon's character is so powerfulㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Kwak Dongyeon Reveals That His 'Chinese Rich Man' Acting was an Adlib Taught by Kim Jiwon

There's this scene where I speak Chinese. In that scene, I was told, 'Soocheol, just say anything in Chinese.' The writer said, 'Dongyeon will handle it well on his own.' We had discussions with the directors about whether to use fake Chinese or real Chinese. Eventually, Soocheol talks about cilantro after much deliberation. I had a headache, for real. There were several NGs. Everyone tried to hold back laughter, but Kim Jungnan Sunbaenim, who played as Beomja, couldn't hold it in and laughed during the scene. They just left it as it is.

Especially the line, 'Your Majesty~ What has become of my child?' was a phrase taught by Kim Jiwon. She mentioned that she had watched quite a few Chinese dramas herself, and since this phrase frequently appeared in historical dramas, she offered her help, which brought laughter.

-That was so funnyㅋㅋㅋ

-The fact that Kim Jiwon was the one who taught that line is a plot twistㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-It's a total plot twist that Kim Ji-won taught him that lineㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-I thought 'Kwak Dongyeon must've watched a lot of Chinese dramas' after hearing that lineㅋㅋㅋㅋ Turns out there's a plot twist behind itㅋㅋㅋ

-That was a major plot twistㅋㅋㅋ Are you kidding meㅜㅋㅋㅋ Totally unexpectedㅋㅋㅋ

-That part was hilariousㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-Kim Ji-won is really subtly funnyㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-It was Kim Ji-won's ideaㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-This scene was really funnyㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-The actors did well in bringing this scene to lifeㅋㅋㅋ

-But if they talked about it beforehand and planned it out, is it still an ad-lib?
ㄴIf it's not in the script, it's an ad-lib. Most ad-libs are thought up during on-site rehearsals and then adjusted.

-I wonder what Chinese drama she watchesㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-Kim Ji-won is naturally funny, she doesn't even have to tryㅋㅋㅋ

-I speak Chinese and this scene was really hilariousㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
