NCT Taeyong, The Controversy … ‘The Kakao Talk messages sent by Informants are edited’

Before that, let’s understand completely the timeline of the case.

Note: A —> The victim, B —> The informant, Taeyong

On May 2nd, 2009, Taeyong left a comment on another class’ community site. Taeyong was in his 2nd year of middle school.

‘Hul. There are 10 people in the picture, but it looks like there are 13’

And then 10 years passed. Later on September 17th, 2019, B posted on an online community. The summary of B’s post:
  1. B is the administrator of that class’ community site
  2. Taeyong made fun of a friend’s appearance, who at the time was chubby.
  3. B felt sorry for talking about something that happened in the past
  4. B insisted that what Taeyong did was wrong

And then, SM Ent. released a statement regarding this post.
“Taeyong deeply regrets the hurtful comment he has left as a middle school student. He also apologises to everyone whom he has hurt, during his training days and after his debut. He is still reflecting on his behaviour…”

Taeyong personally met the victim, A. It was the next day after he came back from The States for a promotion with Super M. A also posted on their personal SNS account (that Taeyong apologised)

‘I’m the victim who has personally met and received apology from Lee Taeyong in person. I’m writing this post to clarify any misunderstanding that have been spreading regarding this case. Through this too, I’d like to announce that we don’t want the private conversation between me, the staffs, and Taeyong to spread publicly. We kindly ask for your understanding’

A is receiving treatment at a hospital due to A’s psychological condition. Taeyong’s rep has already gave a compensation for the damages. Both parties have also written a confidential agreement regarding the damages compensation.

Taeyong’s controversy ended here.

Until, June 2020…

The informant, B, appeared again and asked for Taeyong’s fans to remain calm, since B is also having a hard time. But then, B shot another arrow by posting the Kakao Talk messages.

B claimed that ‘Taeyong’s apology wasn’t sincere’, as B revealed the text messages between A and Taeyong  on October 28, 2019. The message said:

‘When I (The victim) enter the room while crying, you were sitting with your legs crossed and stared out of the window… All I wanted was a sincere apology from you, I’m sending you this long message because I wanted to get along with you’

However Dispatch has obtained the original text. The Kakao Talk screen capture that the informant posted above was edited. In the original text, the victim, A, was worrying about Taeyong’s health.

October 28, 2019

A: Is your waist okay now? It seems like you’re always saying that you’re okay
A: Don’t be too ambitious to reach your goals, it’s going to hurt your waist. Take some rest from time to time.
A: Honestly, when people around me said that you lied about apologising to me. I denied and said you weren’t lying at all.
A: I believe that your apology was sincere. You bowed so deep that I could see the crown of your head.

B had removed some parts of the text messages and posted it online, claiming that it was ‘proof’ that the victim felt Taeyong’s apology wasn’t sincere.

What happened when Taeyong and the victim first met on October 11, 2019?

A: Hi, I’m A… My eyes look uneven from phone camera. Thank you for pretending like you didn’t notice it.
TY: Once again, I’m sorry. I can not contact you often and it may take me a long time to reply your texts for the time being, but I would be really grateful if you understand and keep supporting me.

The conversation between Taeyong and the victim continued to the next day

A: Pain in the waist are extremely painful, don’t hold it in until it gets even more severe. You understand?ㅠㅠ
TY: Yes, thank you. I will take care of my body. Thank you for giving me strength.
A: After what happened yesterday, I don’t want us to feel uncomfortable to each other. I want us to be friends, exchanging texts from time to time, etc. But if you feel uncomfortable with that, you don’t have to do it. I want to respect your thoughts and opinions.
TY: Thank you for asking that to me, I have never felt uncomfortable. But I may be a little bit hard to reach because of work, I can’t always respond to your text quickly. But I know you’ll understand that!! Let’s meet in my concert next time.

Taeyong KEPT this promise. He contacted A first on May 15, 2020.

TY: Hi! This is Taeyong, how are you doing?
A: Hey, I’m currently watching a baseball game!
TY: I see^^ Remember when I promised to invite you to my concert? But due to COVID-19 outbreak, our concert will be held online. You can watch it this Sunday at 3PM on V Live. I will send you the code tomorrow or maybe the day after it. Does it overlap with the baseball game? Just feel free to watch the concert if you have free time.

Then Taeyong sent the code to NCT’s Online Concert on May 17, 2020.

TY: I was about to invite you to my concert, it’s such a pity. Just open the V Live App, go to Store, and type the code link I sent you.
A: Okay. It’s so fascinating how concerts these days are held online and not face-to-face… Good luck!
TY: Thank you. Take care of your health~

B also pointed things that differ from what actually happened.
B revealed that Taeyong promised to donate to the victim of school violence, and in another interview B said that they didn’t know if Taeyong kept his promises or not.

User: What’s with the donation and volunteer work? Was it mentioned in the conversation between Taeyong and the victim?? The victim asked him to donate and volunteer for the victim of school violence?
B: That’s what the friend of the victim wanted from Taeyong!

Dispatch did their research and found out that since April 2016, Taeyong has been constantly donating 1M KRW every month. He has donated more than 50M KRW so far. He also did volunteer work for the victim of school-violence.

<Scholarship that TY gave out>

From September 2016 ~ until now: Donating more than 1M KRW every month to Multicultural School, All Love School.

The principal of Multicultural School, All Love School revealed, “Everyone in that school wants to receive the scholarship from Taeyong. And that Taeyong once carefully said that he didn’t want (his donation) to be revealed. When I was Taeyong’s age, I did not have any thoughts to donate like what he does”

In conclusion, it is true that Taeyong made fun of a friend’s appearance when he was younger. And that the victim was deeply hurt by what he said. But there are some parts that differ from the truths as well, for example: Taeyong is homophobic, Taeyong caused a friend to do self-harm etc. These accusations were only made by B, the informant.

TY’s teacher said, ‘I still clearly remember what happened. Taeyong has nothing to do with the student who did self-harm.’

Another witness who was present on the scene also said, ‘I was there when it happened. Taeyong has never caused anything problematic. However, it is not true that the victim threw a chair towards Taeyong’s direction’

Dispatch managed to get in touch with the ‘Rolling Paper’ victim, who said, ‘I didn’t feel offended. It happened when we were young. Sometimes, we joke about something that crosses the lines with our close friends. On top of all, I’m not gay, so it doesn’t really matter to me. What B did was very sickening. I don’t even know B personally, B is a stranger to me. And yet B uploaded that picture of rolling paper on the internet without asking any permissions first. I hope B sees this news and contact me as soon as possible to apologise’

Hello, I’m the one who was involved when Taeyong wrote the rolling paper.

I know that this picture can’t convince you, but I hope you believe me.

First of all, I have never spoken up my opinion about Taeyong, except for Taeyong’s apology article last year.
Seems like there are a lot of people who mistook me as the one who wrote the other posts. But it was another classmate of Taeyong.

After reading the post that the informant uploaded here, and also the comments. I hesitated a lot whether to write this post or not.
Taeyong’s sister told me to keep it to myself, which I did. But after listening to the voice note, I don’t think I can keep this any longer. That’s why I’m writing this post.

Whose side do you think the informant is on?
I personally think, she’s not on the victim’s side.
If she was, don’t you think that it would be the right thing for her to talk about the victims first instead of talking about herself?

It was very shocking to me.
The informant has never contacted or asked for permission to me before posting all those stories.
If she comes to my office, she could easily get my contact and ask for my permission. If she really cares about the victims, I wonder why she doesn’t even try to reach me.

I think the informant thinks that she’s speaking on the victim’s behalf.
Then, I’m going to speak on Taeyong’s sister’s behalf.

Ask me if there are things that you’re curious about.
I will tell you everything I know about it.
I will not talk about anything outside this topic.

[+935][-24]

1. [+304][-2] OP: Simply put, I’m not either the informant or the victim here. The matter between Taeyong and the victims shouldn’t be intervened by other people. It wouldn’t be a matter if the victims don’t mind to talk about this publicly, but why is it the informant that speaks up about this matter publicly? I don’t want this case to be talked anymore, so please stop. This story was posted online without my permission.

2. [+211][-2] I’m saying this just in case… I know that you guys won’t do it, but I’m worriedㅠㅠ The OP has decided to post this after concerning about it a lot, the OP is also trying their hard to answer all the questions you guys ask. So please, refrain yourself from asking difficult or rude questions. Let’s keep our manner!! I know that you guys aren’t that kind of people, but let’s be careful.

3. [+149][-2] To those who want to thank the OP, just comment below. I feel like the comments that are actually asking the OP questions are getting buried by the grateful commentsㅠㅠ I’ll delete this if you guys find this offensive.

4[+141][-1] This is what the OP answered:
Q: How do you feel when you first saw the post?
A: If you’re talking about the rolling paper, as I’ve already said in an article, I didn’t feel offensive at all. We’ve all been thoughtless when we were younger. The thing that upsets me is the fact that the informant posted it without my agreement in the first place.

5. [+140][-6] Hello, I’m a fellow schoolmate from Nam Seoul Middle School. I’m leaving this comment because I want to get in touch with the OP.

6. [+131][-0] This post is being re-posted in different online communities such as Instiz, Theqoo, etc. And the comment sections are total chaos. I hope it doesn’t hurt OP’s heart. Just report those posts, we will help you to report them.

7. [+103][-1] There are a lot of posts in Pann, Theqoo, etc, stating that Taeyong is NOT that kind of person, right? They all posted their statement alongside with proof that they went to the same school as Taeyong. But why does no one believe them until this point?

8. [+97][-0] .
1Q: Were you friends with Taeyong?
A: Yes. Taeyong and I were classmate in the 3rd year of middle school.

2Q: How do you feel when you first saw the post?
A: If you’re talking about the rolling paper, as I’ve already said in an article, I didn’t feel offensive at all. We’ve all been thoughtless when we were younger. The thing that upsets me is the fact that the informant posted it without my agreement in the first place.

3Q: Is it difficult for you to tell us your view on JH’s case?
A: Yes. I don’t know anything about that case

4Q: Have you ever feel offended or degraded by the thing that Taeyong wrote on the rolling paper?
A: I said that I don’t feel offended at all, but there are still people who leave hate comments because of that. I didn’t feel degraded if people mistook me as gay, but I know that what Taeyong wrote was wrong, and I can’t say anything on LGBTQ Community’s behalf if they feel offended by what he wrote.

The informant of Taeyong's school-violence case, 'I'm doubting the sincerity in his apology... He needs to fulfil his promises'

On October last year, A, who went to the same middle school with Taeyong posted a story about how Taeyong made fun of his friend on the Internet back then. A explained that Taeyong made fun of B based on her looks. Later, it was informed that Taeyong met B in person and apologised to her. In the press release, he said that even though there were no records, he apologised to B for the harms he had caused her.

However, the informant, A, revealed that Taeyong’s reps was vague and his apology was not sincere.

The informant, A, through SBS FunE’s reporter, revealed a voice note consisting a 50-min long conversation between them and SM Ent.’s lawyer. This happened after Taeyong’s meeting with B.

In the voice note, Taeyong’s lawyer explained that after Taeyong apologised, B is forbidden from talking about the case, or else she has to pay 2 times of the compensation that was given to her.

According to A, during the meeting, Taeyong’s reps asked for B to write a contract that was so demanding, as if it’s ‘trying to silent her’. The contract was signed by all the parties and now is in SM Ent.’s legal team. After signing the contract, B is not allowed to talk about the case anymore.

A also informed that Taeyong promised to donate to the victim of school violence, do volunteer works related to school violence, reflect on his behaviour, etc. However, she couldn’t confirm if Taeyong fulfilled his promises or not. A also said that Taeyong still hasn’t apologised to another victim, which is confirmed by his lawyer. He only asked for the victim’s address and phone number. A added that SM Ent. also still hasn’t deleted the post on the Internet that caused her to receive malicious comments.

According to SM Ent., there are a lot of part in A’s information that differs from what actually happened.

Regarding the contract, it was already approved by the lawyers and it was also made under B’s agreement. The contract talks about the compensation damages, that B had requested. The lawyers also explained to B and B’s mother that the contract was written for security purposes. Now, the contract is held by the lawyer only.

Regarding the donation and volunteer work, SM Ent. confirmed that Taeyong has been consistently donating to the victim of school violence, visit them, do volunteer work, etc since September 2016.

Regarding the online posts, SM Ent. said that even though the informant is not the victim, they genuinely gave legal advice to A regarding the hate comments. A sent the estimation of money needed to delete the post, however the original post couldn’t be deleted. Since deleting the post is not the best solution to get rid all of the hate comments, SM Ent. refused because it was meaningless. SM Ent. also added that the lawyer has never made any promise or agreement with A to delete the post.

An EXO-L of 8 years is finally going to get married

First of all, I've been a fan of EXO since their debut 8 years ago.
I'm currently 26 years old and I'm going to get married this Decemberㅎㅎ

I was in the 2nd year of high school when I stumbled upon the MV of EXO's Mama, I was so drawn in that I started stanning them right away. I've been through the Wolf and Growl era in 2013, where they hit really big. And I've also been all the hard times that EXO and EXO-L had.
Until now, they've reached the point where they're currently at, and I'm very proud of them.

I was depressed during my school days, I couldn't get along with my classmates, I was lonely.
I would listen to EXO's songs and fangirl over them whenever I get home from school, and I think that helped me a lot to overcome all the hard times I've gone through.

The fact that I could meet the man I'm going to marry is because EXO strengthened me back then. The strength they give me keep me alive, until I finally met him.

Now that I'm getting married and building a family of my own, I naturally...? Quit the fandom as I have less time to fangirl than I used to. But I will always remember the people who painted colours to my 10s and 20s. EXO, thank you so much for all the precious memories. I am really grateful for you, I love you.

+
I didn't expect this post to become a trend, it's so coolㅎㅎ I read the comments and some people are asking me whether if I got pregnant out of wedlock, but no. We got married by our own will, so please don't misunderstand^^ And I was cleaning my room when I found this signed Pepero bromade. I didn't know the post would trend, if I knew, I would've taken a proper pictureㅋㅋㅋ
Thanks for all the wishes. We're absolutely going to live our marriage life full of happiness, and I'll fangirl from time to time. Thank you<3

[+469][-24]

1. [+96][-3] Congratulations on your wedding!! As an EXO-L in the 20s, I can relate to this post in so many level. It's very heart-warming to readㅎㅎ I wish you all the best~~

2. [+80][-2] Congratulations on your wedding... I hope you have a nice marriage life

3. [+68][-2] I'm not a fan of EXO, and this is somehow... new to me... Congratulations on your wedding!

4. [+29][-2] My youth is EXO. The OP, EXO-Ls, and EXO were made for each other. Congratulations on your wedding, OP!!

5. [+25][-1] Don't quit the fandom. I'm older than Xiumin by 3 years, I'm married and I have kids of my own, I'm still fangirling to EXO and it brings me happiness. Taking care of kids is stressful and exhausting, so when they fall asleep at night, I would look up EXO's videos and fangirl in silenceㅋㅋㅋ That's how I release all the stress I had.

6. [+11][-0] I'm married to a fanboy of EXO, we're fangirl/boy over them togetherㅎㅎ I met him in an EXO's concert. Congratulations on your wedding! I wish you all the best. Let's continue fangirl/boy-ing just like how me and my husband!

The reason why NCT U's Boss is legendary...

This innocent-looking Jungwoo, and

This Win Win that makes you want to protect him at all costs, and

This Lucas that makes your heart skips a beat, and

This really... really handsome Jaehyun, and

This Taeyong that makes you want to give him everything you have, and

This is my boyfriend Mark, and

Last but not least, my bias^^ The Bunny King, Doyoungie

The most legendary line up ever...

Can this NCT U's Boss make a comeback...

[+400][-32]

1. [+204][-1] Why is Minhyung-ie your boyfriend

2. [+179][-2] Our Mark lives to his fullest, he doesn't deserve this...

3. [+104][-1] BO: Boss SS: Comeback

4. [+50][-0] Legend

5. [+39][-1] The visual combination of the 7 members during Boss era was indeed insane... That was also the era where I found the love of my life.

6. [+37][-0] Honestly, I don't know the purpose of that video but I just like it very much because there are handsome men showing off their charms for 1min straight. The best 1minute I've ever had in 2018.

7. [+28][-0] I'm trembling

8. [+26][-0] The way the OP writes long caption for the other member but when it comes to Jaehyun, they just write 'This really... really handsome Jaehyun'ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

The drama that currently is stirring a controversy

The scenes in the first episode of Broadcast Rookie

1. The female main character, dressed in school uniform, kissing the male characterㅋㅋㅋㅋ
The underage female main character kissed him as a form of gratitude that the male character helped her to buy cigarettes (He didn't buy her, he just helped her)

2. A f*cking explicit scene of prostitution

3. Scene of an artist drawing adult manga

Besides these, there's also an explicit scene of the female main character's body, etc.

What do you think??

[+961][-43]

1. [+984][-21] What kind of high school students hang out like this in Karaokes...

2. [+953][-12] I know that Kim Yoojung's image doesn't suit high-school student image like the other actresses her age, but can't they give them a youthful and fresh role to act? She's always being coupled with actors with huge age gap, as if there's no actor her age suits to be her couple. And also the choice of drama... Her company is the one to blame here.

3. [+884][-9] The original Webtoon is rated 19+... It features scene of an underage an a legal adult having sexual intercourse, etc. The story line is really disgusting, I was so freaking surprised when I heard that it's going to be adapted into a drama. And even more surprised when they confirmed that Ji Changwook and Kim Yoojung are going to star in the drama... I wonder what's in their mind...

4. [+601][-8] In the drama, Kim Yoojung works part time in a convenience store. Honestly, she's just wearing comfortable clothes but the producer twists the whole thing and makes it look like a fantasy about a convenience store part-time worker. I bet after watching this drama, trashy men would think themselves as Ji Changwook and flirt with part-time workers in convenience stores.

5. [+365][-4] I feel like Kim Yoojung purposely takes roles like this because she wants to get rid of her 'child actress' imageㅠㅠ Honestly, I really loved her in Love in The Moonlight. But she suddenly changes drastically, I mean... with her role in Clean with Passion for Now and this...
