The unsolved case of Goo Hara's safe theft

The day after Goo Hara's older brother, who had stayed at the deceased's home until her 49th day memorial, returned to his hometown, the burglary was committed early in the morning.

14 January 2020, 12:15 AM
An unidentified man, Mr. A, broke into Goo Hara's house

14 January 2020, 12:30 AM
He (They) walked through the garden and approached the front door

(Seen entering the password, which he already knew beforehand)

(When the password didn't work, he checked the inside through the window)

K: We have a total of four CCTV cameras at our house.

K: The CCTV in the yard captured him climbing over the wall into our yard

K: He approached the front door and entered the password. As the password didn't work, he exited through the way he came in.

The safe was gone.

It is said that the safe contained Goo Hara's documents and the phone she used when she was alive.

K: He pressed the password as if he knew it

K: He pressed it like this (the previous password)

K: (After Goo Hara's death), I changed the password

K: Only Goo Hoin and I knew about the new password

The culprit is someone that Goo Hara knows.

K: People who frequently visited her house knew the password,

K: They approached and took a peek inside through the window first.

K: That means they knew about this door.

They knew the previous password

and seemed familiar with the layout of the house,

(They knew the password had changed and invaded through the second-floor veranda into the dressing room connected to the multipurpose room. It is presumed that they knew the layout from veranda to multipurpose room to dressing room.)

They are suspected of being masked criminals.

We are seeking witnesses.
Please report to Dispatch via email.

- Description:
1. Height: 170~180cm
2. Wears metal-framed glasses with prescription lenses.
3. Sports shoes with dial for adjusting laces.
4. Wears a jacket with different materials on the back and shoulders.

Summary of the Incident:
On 14 January 2020, intruders broke into Goo Hara's residence in Cheongdam-dong, stealing her personal safe. Suspects, estimated to be 3~4 individuals, wore masks. They were familiar with the password used by Goo Hara while she was alive.

Since the house had been unoccupied for a while, the memory of the CCTV had expired.
Reports were filed, but there was no progress in the investigation. Eventually, the case was temporarily closed as unsolved.

-That guy's going straight to hell...

-I don't think even going to heaven would bring peace for her, it's heartbreaking.. May you be truly free from everything now.

-Damn, those idiots must've tampered with the evidence amongst themselves and probably even got the police to cover it up.

-So they couldn't break in but the safe disappeared?

-How do they even sleep at night?

-How could someone be so evilㅠㅠ May Hara now rest peacefully in heavenㅠㅠ

-Who could it be?

-How did they know what was in the safe and steal it? Definitely someone who's been to the house...

-The police are not incapable of catching them, they're just not catching them.

-Does this even make sense?

-It's so unreasonable that they haven't been caught yet.

-If they're people that Goo Hara knows, shouldn't they be recognizable? Why isn't anyone coming forward with tips?

-It's frustrating, really.

-Hara-ya... ㅜㅠ

-Ugh, gives me chills..

BBC report: Goo Hara's ex-boyfriend threatened, "I will end your career"

Goo Hara was also a victim of illegal filming.

When her ex-boyfriend threatened to expose her private photos, she reported him to the police.

Her ex-boyfriend said, "I will end your celebrity life."

This is an interview with Goo Hara's brother:

"I remember her being threatened like that. My sister still wanted to be a singer and it was her dream. She was afraid people will see her pictures, because she might lose even her job if it happened. So she begged him not to do it as she knelt down."

The CCTV footage of Goo Hara pleading with her ex-boyfriend not to release the photos quickly spread.

"It hurt a lot to see a top star shining on stage kneeling down and begging in front of a man. And because it was a moment where Hara could lose everything she had built up, I think she was so desperate."

Goo Hara's ex-boyfriend was eventually convicted of assault and coercion.

-Die, you piece of garbage.

-Whenever I think of Hara, my heart feels so heavy. I hope she is at peace now.

-Is he still not dead?

-Seriously, what a bastard.

-Just seeing that makes me so angry, it's so frustrating...

-I really want to kill him.

-May he receive punishment for the rest of his life, seriously.

-Even though I'm not a fan, my heart ached when I saw that picture of her kneeling.

-May that bastard suffer forever.

-Ah, it's so heartbreaking, really.

-Hara...

-Hara, I really feel like crying...

-The perpetrator is breathing freely, living well. Damn, is this fair?

-Jongbeom!!! He's living well, right?ㅋㅋ Jongbeom, Choi Jongbeom, I wonder what he's doing now! So curious! ㅋㅋㅋ

-I'm curious about the parents who raised such trash.

-Murderer, may you suffer for the rest of your life, Jongbeom.

-Can't they reveal the perpetrator's name? He was quite famous.

-I feel like I'll have recurring nightmares about this.

-I hope that son of a bitch dies. Damn it.

Goo Hara played a very important role in uncovering the connections involved in the Burning Sun scandal

Who on earth is that person referred to as a 'Police Prosecutor General' in that group chat? That was such a crucial point. It was the most unresolved issue and also a kind of homework. It was Goo Hara who stepped in and broke the ice.

I still clearly remember that day. "Reporter-nim, I'm Hara" I remember vividly her voice when she said, "I really want to help you." I was truly grateful.

Goo Hara and Choi Jonghoon were very close since their debut, and they knew each other to some extent with Seungri and Jung Joonyoung as well.

At that time, Hara mentioned that because of her acquaintance, she had seen them using their phones before and said, "There's really something strange about them, Reporter-nim. What you said is right." Then, she asked, "How can I help?" So, I honestly spoke, "There's something I want to know about that 'Police Prosecutor General' guy, but I don't know how. So, could you help with this?" I remember that at that time, Goo Hara called Choi Jonghoon and asked him about that part on my behalf.

The journalist simply asked Choi to confirm the identity of the police officer referred to as "Police Prosecutor General" in the message. Choi Jonghoon told me that the figure known as the "Police Prosecutor General" was not fictional but an actual police officer named Yoon Gyu-geun. (Goo Hara) helped me to get Choi Jonghoon talk out about it.

Goo Hara was an incredibly brave woman. What she said to me was... "I'm also a revenge porn victim"

Within 48 hours, Reporter Kang releseas two of the most important articles, gracing the news headlines.

-Such a brave woman... I wonder how difficult it must've been for herㅠㅠ Rest in peace, Hara-ya

-Wow... I need to watch that documentary.

-I miss Hara.

-She was such an amazing person.

-Hara, you lived such a wonderful and beautiful life.

-Hara, be happy.

-Wow..ㅠㅠㅜㅜㅜ She must have been really brave.

-It must have been tough for herㅠㅠ Hara, you're really brave and cool.

-She was so... so brave.  It must have been difficult just for herself, but persuading her friend to come forward is really tough... Damn, it's heartbreaking. I think she must have gone through a lot alone and got tiredㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ I really hope she's happy now.

-In my opinion, I don't think Goo Hara's death was suicide.

-My heart hurts to read this... How did she handle it all?

-This is so saddening and upsetting to me... She was a lightㅠㅠ

-Haraㅜㅜㅜㅜㅜㅜ I hope you're happy in heaven.

-She seemed like a delicate and beautiful flower, but she was actually as fiery as flames.

Goo Hara's Mother Can't Receive Inheritance ... Sibling and Disobedient Children's Inheritance Rights Ruled Unconstitutional

The Constitutional Court has decided that giving inheritance rights to the siblings of someone who passes away, regardless of the deceased's intentions, breaks the rules of the constitution. The Constitutional Court also ruled that it is unconstitutional not to establish provisions such as disqualifying inheritance if the inheritor committed wrongdoings such as abandonment or abuse. They ruled that it's right to give more inheritance rights to those who support their family more.

theqoo

-Thank goodness! Rest in peace, Hara. Hopefully, justice will be served soon.

-Finally...

-Wow, finally!! It's really great to hear this!!

-But didn't the news say she took 40% of the inheritance?? Hasn't she taken it yet?

-I'm relieved..ㅠㅠ

-Didn't her mom already receive it??

-But Goo Hara's mom has already received it.

-According to the article, Goo Hara's mom has already received 40%... Wow...

-This is one of their ways to prevent cases like Hara's from happening in the future. I'm so relieved.

-Goo Hara's mom has already taken everythingㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ Still, it's fortunate that the law has been enacted from now on.

-Hara's brother also suffered a lotㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

-I hope such heartbreaking incidents won't happen again in the future. Be happy, Hara.

-So now, those who abandoned their children will be unable to receive their children's property?

Am I the only one who disagrees that women were the ones who killed Goo Hara?

It's true that Goo Hara was one of the Gen 2 female idols who got the most hate comments and was also nit-picked by Kim Gura for refusing to do aegyo on TV.

Regardless of that, why do people blame the malicious comments instead of her ex-boyfriend, who took illegal videos, threatened her, and even made her kneel in the elevator before she eventually took her own life? Thanks to them, her ex is now able to live without any consequences and continue living without being held accountable.

I don't want to talk about her, but Pann is the easiest way in this situation. It's very disrespectful to constantly bring up Sulli and Goo Hara's names for no reason, it's insulting.

"You begged me to save your life" Goo Hara, from her boyfriend who filmed their intimate intercourse to her parents who cut off ties with her ... Her past sends chills down your spine.

In September 2018, it was reported that Goo Hara's boyfriend at the time, Choi Jongbum, who was working as a hair designer in Cheongdam-dong, had physically assaulted her during an argument, leaving her with bruises on her arms and legs. He also allegedly to threatened to share a video of their sexual intercourse, leading him to trial.

Additionally, in August of the same year, Choi Jongbum was also accused of illegally filming Goo Hara's body without her consent and forcing her to kneel and apologize to the CEO of her agency.

However, Choi Jongbum continued to appeal against the charges and was eventually sentenced to one year in prison by the Supreme Court after going through three trials.

As a result of the incident, Goo Hara suffered deep emotional wounds and attempted to take her own life twice. Tragically, she passed away on November 24, 2021.

Why do some people blame women for Goo Hara's death, despite there being a clear perpetrator in this case? While Sulli faced significant online bullying from women, I don't think this was the case for Goo Hara.

This incident led her to be a hot issue in male-dominated online communities for the video that was never right to film in the first place. They all talked about how her ex-boyfriend was innocent, how they wanted to see the videos and even images of her autopsy report. During that time, it was mainly women who supported Goo Hara.

I'm sure people will ask whether should I really talk about this here. Not to mention people mentioning Sulli which is even more out of topic. That is insulting and disrespectful to them. Goo Hara clearly identified her abuser and mentioned that she felt like she was going to die because of him.

Ignoring that fact is even more disrespectful to her. The abuser is living comfortably now, knowing that people are forgetting about what he did.

1. [+574][-96] The primary reason behind Goo Hara's death was her boyfriend. I 100% agree that he should be punished for what he did. However, do you guys really not know why people are blaming female-dominated online communities for both Sulli and Goo Hara's deaths? The difference between male dan female-dominated online communities is the double standards that exist in female-dominated online communities. As you can see, there's a difference between male and female-dominated online communities. Compared to male-dominated online communities, female-dominated online communities are relatively restrained. The most popular female-dominated online communities include Nate Pann, Instiz, Jjukbbang, Theqoo, etc. It's easier for something to become an issue in female-dominated online communities. The characteristic of female-dominated online communities is they justify malicious comments and the commenters act as if they're just stating their opinions, claiming it's just 'an opinion from a regular person's POV'. As a result of this, people like Sulli and Goo Hara end up being portrayed as 'b*tches with mental illnesses' instead of victims. What about sexual harassment and hate comments in male-dominated online communities? Most men there sexually harass celebrities. They view men who leave hate comments as strange. Which one is strange: The celebrities who experience sexual harassment or men who sexually harass celebrities? Society naturally picks the latter. What about female-dominated online communities? 'Doesn't Sulli look weird these days?', 'What's wrong with Sulli?', 'Sulli is really controversial', 'Looks like Sulli is using drugs. Her gaze looks strange' etc... Do you think the OP of those hate posts truly consider that their posts are acceptable? Just by looking at the number of likes on the articles that become issues, it's clear that those malicious comments are justified. As a result, those celebrities become the target of a witch hunt. Those justified comments ultimately sacrifice many beautiful and talented women like Sulli and Goo Hara. Secondly, the double standards in female-dominated online communities. What are the things that you always say? 'Women's rights', 'Feminism', 'Don't judge women recklessly, 'Don't create a harsh society for women', 'Don't force women to have a pretty and skinny body', etc, right? However, what are the posts about female idols that constantly become trend in female-dominated online communities? 'Her face has changed, don't you think so? Did she get plastic surgery?', 'Her double eyelids surgery looks so obvious, what a shame', 'It looks like she has gained weight lately, right?', 'Isn't she too skinny? It looks creepy', 'Did you see her make a mistake in her performance today?', 'Why is her expression like that? She must be controlling her teammatesㅠㅠ', 'Why does she talk like that? Seems like she doesn't have a good personality', 'Isn't she trying too hard to act cute?', etc. They constantly talk about women's rights and feminism, as if all women are united to change society. However, in reality, they constantly criticize every aspect of female idols and ultimately apply the same 'oppressive standards for women' that they speak out against. They are even more eager than anyone else to attach these standards to female idols, simply because they are prettier and more talented than them. I think it's ridiculous that sometimes they get mocked for it. You can notice this just by looking at the posts in 'Enter-talk' for a day or two. Once again, I'm not saying that male-dominated online communities are innocent or that Goo Hara's ex-boyfriend is innocent. I'm just saying that female-dominated online communities are at fault too and I'm writing this comment for people who can't accept that.

2. [+340][-42] In the end, the cause of Goo Hara's death is indeed her ex-boyfriend. But I remember seeing comments from female-dominated online communities when Goo Hara first attempted suicide saying things like, 'She's just putting on a show to gain sympathy. It's not going to change anything', etc. At that time, there were some Pann-jummas who even called Goo Hara a 'b*tch'. They ignored the fact that Goo Hara was beaten up during a physical fight with her boyfriend and instead focused on the fact that Goo Hara left nail marks on her boyfriend's face by saying 'How could you make someone else's precious child's face like that? She's such a b*tch', etc. However, it's understandable since they probably lived in a time when women's rights were at rock bottom. But still, there were a lot of people who upvoted those comments. In the end, it's fact that both male and female-dominated online communities left malicious comments for them.

3. [+317][-62] I remember this because I was a fan of hers, you guys were on her ex-boyfriend's side. You questioned whether she was the one who asked to film the video. You also questioned how will she take responsibility for the nail marks she left on her ex-boyfriend's face, because those scars will never go away. It was no joke. Do you really not remember that? You have no shame at all.

The picture that Goo Hara uploaded and on Instagram and deleted it shortly afterwards

This is tasty.. It tasted good..

Just judging from the appearance and the emoticon, people are assuming it's a marijuana.
I don't care whether if she smokes or not, because she's an adult anyway.. But the fact that she deleted the picture right after she uploaded it makes the whole thing sound very suspicious.
Maybe she thought she uploaded it on her private account, and deleted it shortly after realizing that she uploaded it on the wrong account.

[+428][-9]

1. [+223][-8] Why is she hanging out with Sulli? Kang Jiyoung seems to be doing everything she wants to do and living a really happy life in Japan.. While Hara said she's going to focus on her career as an actress after she quits Kara but she hasn't starred in anything up until this second and all she ever does is seeking for public's attention along with Sulliㅋㅋㅋ I used to like her a lot, though.. I'm really disappointed in her..

2. [+160][-102] Why do I find Sulli is suspicious..ㅋ I mean, would she be the only one who smokes in her surroundings?ㅋㅋㅋ Whenever a girl smokes, the other girls around her would always follow her to smoke too.

3. [+153][-15] Does it look like an ordinary cigarette to you? That looks like marijuana.. That's very suspicious..

4. [+102][-5] TOP's marijuana controversy was a really hot issue and judging by how she uploaded that picture to her Instagram, she was really careless about the whole situation right now.. Seems like it's true that she's a fool..

5. [+72][-8] She explained that it was a rolling tobacco~~ So if your oppas smoke they look sexy and cool but when Goo Hara smokes it's a marijuana??ㅋㅋㅋ

6. [+71][-3] Was she high when she uploaded this picture?? Police Ajusshi, take a look at this..

7. [+61][-11] Seems like Sulli and Hara are doing drugs.. That's why they are always not on their right state of their minds..

8. [+59][-4] Looking from the alcohol bottles in the picture, looks like she had some fun there..

9. [+58][-3] I don't really find Hara likable, but how could you judge her right away just because she says its's tasty.. Are female idols not allowed to post the pictures of them smoking..? She's not even an idol anymore now..

10. [+46][-2] It's nothing problematic if that's just a cigarette..

11. [+44][-36] So what?? Can't she even smoke?

12. [+41][-4] She's an adult, she's allowed to smoke.. Even though it's not a really good sight to see..

13. [+34][-2] It's a rolling tobacco.. But aren't you guys being unfair here? When a male idol accidentally uploads a picture of him smoking, you guys would defend him..

14. [+33][-5] I wonder why would she brag off about doing drugs on her social media?? Was she in the right state of her mind when she uploaded this?

15. [+29][-1] It's actually up to her whether if she wants to smoke or not.. I bet she deleted the picture because the response from her followers weren't positiveㅋㅋ So what if she smokes or not~

Goo Hara and Sulli's relationship

1. [+475][-62] Two attention seekers.
2. [+282][-30] Why does Goo Hara look younger than Sulli?
3. [+256][-51] Goo Hara really looks younger than she actually is..
4. [+0][-0] Sulli's skin is just so pretty.
5. [+3][-0] Did they do drugs..
6. [+0][-0] Pretty.. but don't use your faces like that
7. [+0][-0] Birds of a feather flock together..
8. [+0][-0] Hara-ya, don't hang around Sulli too much. I'm worried you'll turn into someone like her..
9. [+9][-10] Look at small Hara's face is.
10. [+11][-0] It looks like the picture wasn't taken at their house.
