Dangoon's Review of 'Goodbye Earth'

What's the worst Netflix original series I have ever watched?

It's Goodbye Earth

I usually don't say things like this, but...

Do not watch it.

Ever.

Rating - 0 points

I have never heard Dangoon say things like this before.
'Instead of watching this drama, you might wanna rewatch your favorite drama or movie'

-Why? How bad is it?

-I usually watch Netflix series till the end, but I dropped this one in the middle of episode 3.

-Is it that bad??

-It's the first time I've ever stopped watching a Netflix original after episode 1. The story is too scattered.

-What can I say about this... It's surprisingly boring, haha. I've watched almost all Netflix shows this year, but this one is on another level of boredom.

-This person usually gives very blunt reviews, so if they say it's mostly boring, then it must be seriously dull. I was planning to watch it but kept delaying it...

-The original story wasn't like this at all. What were they fixated on when making it...?

-Was it because they were too busy editing Yoo Ah-in's scenes? Why?

-That makes me even more curious about itㅋㅋㅋ

-I had high expectations because of Ahn Eun-jin, but it seems it's just boring...

-It's not just Yoo Ah-in's problem. It's just a total mess, honestly; it's just not fun and extremely boring.

-It seems they edited it too much, which messed things up...ㅠㅠ It's a pity.

-The explanation of the content is also unclear, and the timeline keeps changing back and forth. Meanwhile, there's not much happening in the main story.

-But seriously, it's so boring that I just changed to something else while watching it...ㅋㅋㅋ From what I've seen here, everyone seems to feel the sameㅋㅋㅋ

-Well, I stopped watching after Episode 1; it's a shame.

-The actors' performances were good, though

-I wonder if they removed too much of Yoo Ah-in's scenes and filled them with other parts, making it even more boring.

-It should have been a 6-episode series at most.

-Wow, I watch Dangun's review broadcasts often, and it's the first time I've seen him give 0 points. Even if it's not fun, he usually gives some points.

Netflix Decides to Keep Yoo Ah In in 'Goodbye Earth' Without Edits

Yoo Ah-in will not be edited out of 'Goodbye Earth'.

On the 9th, Netflix stated, "There is currently no set release date for 'Goodbye Earth'. Yoo Ah-in's footage will not be edited out as his character contributes to the whole story. Therefore, it is difficult to provide detailed information about the amount of his footage before the series is released."

Earlier, Sports Chosun reported that 'Goodbye Earth' will be released on April 26th.

'Goodbye Earth' is based on the novel of the same name by author Isaka Kotaro, depicting the story set 200 days before the end of the world after the apocalypse is announced. Directed by Kim Jin-min, known for Netflix's "No Longer Human" and "My Name," and written by Jung Sung-joo. Originally scheduled for release last year, it was postponed due to Yoo Ah-in's drug scandal.

Yoo Ah-in was indicted from September 2020 to March last year on charges of taking more than seven types of drugs including propofol, marijuana, cocaine, ketamine, zolpidem, midazolam, and alprazolam. There are also allegations of evidence destruction and coercion of marijuana smoking among acquaintances.

-Right... He's the main character after all. What a nuisance.

-There's really nothing they can do about it...

-I'm sure there will probably a lot of people who won't watch the series because of him. The staff members must've worked hard on it, so I hope they would still release the series. What did the other actors and actresses do wrong to deserve this...

-It's understandable since he's the main character, but it's really unfair for the staff and other actors and actressesㅠㅠ

-Still, since it's an OTT drama, only those who want to watch will watch. Besides, the staff members and other supporting actors and actresses could still put this series as a part of their portfolio anyway.

-Ugh, I really hate him. Since it's already been filmed, there's nothing they can do. However, I hope he faces the consequences he deserves. He shouldn't be back on TV again, though.
