Choi Minhwan, a member of the band FTISLAND, fainted during a performance.

The group has been active not only in South Korea but also in the Japanese music market, even topping the Oricon charts. Additionally, each member has pursued solo activities across various field such as dramas, musicals, and variety shows. The group recently renewed its contract with FNC Entertainment.

Former LABOUM member Yulhee is taking legal action against her ex-husband, Choi Minhwan, for child custody, alimony, and asset division.

According to legal sources on the 4th, Yulhee submitted a request to the Seoul Family Court for mediation on custody modification and claims for alimony and asset division. Since there were no proper discussions regarding custody or alimony at the time of their divorce back in 2023, these legal procedures are belatedly taking place now.

Previously, Yulhee revealed her reasons for divorce through her YouTube channel, saying that conflicts began after she discovered Minhwan’s visits to adult entertainment venues. The two of them spent a year trying to work on their relationship, but Minhwan was the first to bring up divorce, leading to their separation. Yulhee revealed shocking details about Minhwan's behavior that happened even before she learned about Minhwan's visits to adult entertainment venues, such as squeezing her chest and touching her vital body parts in front of her parents-in-law.

Yulhee initially refrained from discussing her divorce publicly. However, after appearing on the show Now I’m Alone and hearing a YouTuber claim that the reason behind her divorce was that because she 'ran away from home,' she decided to share her side to prevent further misunderstandings.

During the divorce, custody was granted to Minhwan. At that time, they agreed that he would temporarily hold custody and that Yulhee could claim it later once she could provide a stable environment for the children. Regarding this, Yulhee shared, “When the divorce was first discussed, I intended to bring the children with me, but the only financial support offered was 50 million won (approx. $37,000 USD) and 2 million won (approx. $1,500 USD) per month in child support. Realistically, I could rent a small place for our family, but it's like telling me to die."

Without proper legal counsel during the divorce, Yulhee later learned that she could pursue custody and asset division through post-divorce litigation. It is reported that she decided to proceed with these measures to reunite with her children.

Additionally, an audio recording shared by Yulhee raised suspicions of Minhwan's involvement in prostitution, leading police to open an investigation. Minhwan is now under investigation for violating both the Anti-Prostitution Law and the Sexual Violence Crime Punishment Act (for forcible molestation by a family member). Minhwan has since withdrawn from all broadcasts, including The Return of Superman, and has suspended all FT Island activities.

While fans hope that the allegations made towards Choi Minhwan turn out to be false, they criticize Lee Hongki's remarks were careless, especially given that the audio recordings that have surfaced. Lee Hongki's posts have since been deleted.

Currently, the Seoul Gangnam Police are conducting an investigation into Choi Minhwan for solicitation under the Act on the Punishment of Arrangement of Commercial Sex Acts.
