Actor Ahn Hyoseop will attend the Academy Awards for the first time in his life.

According to a report by Maeil Business Star Today on the 13th, Ahn Hyoseop will depart on the afternoon of the 14th to attend the 98th Academy Awards (2026 Oscars), which will be held on the 15th (local time) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles.

Ahn Hyoseop built a global fandom through his voice acting role as Jinwoo of Saja Boys in 'K-pop Demon Hunters.' Jinwoo, a character with a mysterious yet powerful charisma, earned the nickname 'God Jinwoo' and contributed significantly to the project's success.

'K-pop Demon Hunters' is an animation that tells the story of the K-pop idol group Huntrix protecting the world from evil spirits. It gaines enthusiastic response from global fans by uniquely capturing Korean sentiment with Seoul as its background.

The project surpassed 500 million cumulative global views, breaking records as one of the most successful titles in Netflix's history. Meanwhile, the main OST 'Golden' topped the Billboard HOT 100 main single chart, spreading the craze worldwide.

At this year's Academy Awards, the singers who provided vocals for Huntrix (EJAE, Audrey Nuna, Rei Ami) are set to perform 'Golden.' Attention is also focused on the attendance of Ahn Hyoseop, the voice behind Jinwoo.

Meanwhile, on the 12th, Netflix officially announced a sequel to 'K-pop Demon Hunters' after signing a multi-year partnership with directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans.
