Professional baseball player Hwang Jaegyun (37), who plays for the KT Wiz, has been surrounded by rumors of divorce from T-ara's member, Jiyeon (31, Park Jiyeon). The team has stated that they are unable to confirm the reports.
On the 5th, when asked about Hwang Jaegyun's divorce rumors, a representative from KT Wiz responded, "We cannot confirm that because it is his private life."
The representative further emphasized, "Moreover, as Hwang is currently participating in an important game, we cannot provide any comments out of consideration for the player."
Earlier that day, a media outlet reported that Hwang Jaegyun had filed for divorce mediation at the Seoul Family Court and was in the process of getting divorced from Jiyeon.
This is not the first time rumors of their divorce have surfaced. A commentator from Busan’s KNN Radio, during a baseball broadcast, mentioned that Hwang had divorced. Additionally, sightings of Hwang at a late-night bar led to further speculation about the divorce. Both parties had previously denied these rumors, stating that they were unfounded. However, the rumors resurfaced when fans noticed that Jiyeon’s wedding ring was missing in her YouTube videos, and she did not mention her husband, Hwang Jaegyun.
Meanwhile, Hwang Jaegyun and Jiyeon got married on 10 December 2022, and they have no children.
