Is Lim Youngwoong really at fault? Eyes on celebrities amidst impeachment turmoil

https://m.kukinews.com/article/view/kuk202412090176

Lim Youngwoong celebrated his dog's birthday on his social media account on the 7th. However, he was criticized for being thoughtless as he posted it on the same day as the dismissal of President Yoon's impeachment.

A netizen sent Lim Youngwoong a DM, pointing out his indifference towards the current political situation, to which Lim Youngwoong responded, "What?", "Am I a politician?", and "Why should I speak up?". Screenshots of their conversation quickly spread across online communities and the public's sentiment towards Lim Youngwoong deteriorated in an instant.

(Cont'd)

An insider of a music management company, A, told Cookie News, "It's right to speak up about the current situation, but forcing other people to (speak up) is not. Some netizens seem to approach celebrities to validate their opinions." A added, "However, we shouldn't tolerate if the celebrity reacts sharply about it. Since this is a very serious issue, we should be more careful about it."

A broadcasting insider, B, expressed an opposing opinion. B stated, "As images are the most important thing for celebrities, they often avoid making political statements. However, in a situation as critical as impeachment, protecting your image as a celebrity is meaningless. It is no longer unusual for celebrities to express their opinions on impeachment or other related matters. It's simply something that they should do as citizens."

-He could've just ignored the DM, but he chose to reply with 'What?'. That's why people are disappointed in him, especially because he had a positive image to begin with.

-You should've just ignored the DM, Mr. Lim 'What?'.

-Regardless whether he chooses to speak up or not, his attitude was just not it.

-Celebrities make their living off their images, so what can you do? That 'What?' reply was just so... off-putting. Even if it offended him, he should've just brushed it off. There are so many citizens protesting out there right now, and he said, "Why should I speak up when I'm not even a politician?" That's just very disappointing.

-Forcing?ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ It's not like your phone will explode if you don't respond to an Instagram DM.

-He didn't do anything wrong, it's just that what he did was very disappointing. Why even bother writing an article about it? To make him receive even more hate?

-If the purpose of this article was to stop Lim Youngwoong from receiving hate, it was absolutely a wrong decision. They should've just let it die down. Writing an article about it is like promoting people to hate him moreㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-His next song title should be 'What?'

-If he’d just stayed quiet, at least half of this would have been avoided. 'What?'ㅋㅋㅋ

-The problem isn’t that Lim Youngwoong didn’t make a political statement, it’s how he handled the situation. Articles like this feel like they’re trying to change the narrative, and that’s frustrating.

-If he’d just stayed quiet, at least half of this would have been avoided. But 'What?'ㅋㅋㅋ

Great tips to deal with menstrual odor

I heard that the smell of period blood can be very strong for men

This is not a troll, I'm very serious here. Men are sensitive to smells, and apparently, the smell of period blood is something they can notice right aways because it's not a scent they're used to.

Women often don't notice it, except in very extreme cases. Personally, I've occasionally noticed it, but I don't find it particularly disgusting. However, men say the smell is very strong. Therefore, I think we should find a solution to this.

First of all, the thing that men can do is block their noses, stop breathing, and just die. This is an instant solution. If they don't want to smell it, they should block their noses. But breathing the air through their mouths can make them feel like they're tasting the smell through their mouths, so they have to keep their mouths shut too. And at that point, they can just kill themselves.

For women, if a man approaches you when you're on period, just block his nose and kill him.

That's all from me.

theqoo

-That's a really great tip. I'll try it as soon as possible.

-Just tell them to try and smell their own scents;;

-ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ This is freaking hilariousㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-You're gonna become a murderer that way... Just bring a gun wherever you go, so when a man approaches you, you can just shoot them in the nose.

-There's an alternative... You can just punch them in the nose. That way they wouldn't be able to smell the period blood because their sense of smell is paralyzed~

-ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋThis is actually a great tip.

-I think that's pure bullshitㅋㅋ I've asked my exes about it and they all said they never smelled such thing, even the one guy who works at a female-dominated company.

-Oh... You're smart.

Jung Saemmool's comment on Instagram regarding the martial law issue

I'm saying this because a few people asked in the comments. Of course, I think the whole martial law situation is very wrong and I feel deeply distressed about it.

theqoo

-Shit...ㅡㅡ I've only been using Jung Saemmool's cushions until now. I guess I'll have to change it now. I didn't knowㅜㅜㅜㅜㅜ

-Oh sure... Another #2 voter.

-F*ck... I've been using Jung Saemmool's cushion and creams for years, I don't even know if they have any alternatives...

-I'm not buying her products anymore now. I only bought it because it was cheaper than Yves St. Laurent, but there are plenty of other good alternatives.

-Even so... She's a #2 voter.

-She's famous for being #2 voter...

-But why would people even ask about this to Jung Saemmool?? I don't like her either, but I just don't get it...

-#2 voters should just keep their mouths shut...

-Whoa... I had no idea she's a #2 voter... I'm never using her products again.

-She's a passionate fan of Yoon Sukyeol... Wow...

-So, she’s distressed about martial law but against impeachment, huh?

‘Now Is Actually the Opportunity’... India Recommends Travel to Korea Amid Martial Law

Following President Yoon Sukyeol's emergency declaration of martial law, some countries have issued travel advisories for South Korea. However, an Indian media outlet reported that it was a great opportunity to travel to South Korea.

On the 5th, Indian media outlet 'Curly Tales' reported, "South Korea has strengthened their security in some areas, but there are no major restrictions on tourist activities. This current situation may actually provide unexpected benefits to travelers."

The report highlighted the exchange rate as a key factor in the appeal of domestic travel. It noted that the South Korean won has fallen to its lowest level against the US dollar in two years, this fluctuations in exchange rate could be an attractive opportunity for travelers in terms of cost.

According to the Seoul foreign exchange market, the won-dollar exchange rate remained around the 1,380 KRW range around the US presidential election last month but surpassed the 1,410 KRW range after Donald Trump was confirmed as the US President-elect. Following President Yoon’s declaration of martial law on the 3rd, the exchange rate soared to the 1,440 KRW range.

However, the media advised, "Avoid politics-related rallies as much as possible, and check the latest travel advisories, including registering your travel details with your embassy."

Immediately after the martial law declaration on the 3rd, major countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and Japan issued warnings urging their citizens residing in or visiting South Korea to be extra careful. In response, the South Korean government, concerned about potential losses from a decline in incoming tourists, sent diplomatic notes to embassies in these countries. The notes reportedly stated that martial law had been lifted through democratic procedures, public safety and order are being maintained, and there are no disruptions to tourism or economic activities.
