Kim Jungho's You Should Know How to Shake So You Wouldn't Break

Book Introduction:

We live in a world where the possibility of unhappiness grows as we endure life's trials. In this rapidly changing world, even the modest leisure of individuals is being stripped away, and our minds, devoid of the capacity to care for ourselves, gradually deteriorate. What we desperately need in such times is the sincere advice of a seasoned psychologist. This book contains candid advice from a psychologist who has dedicated a lifetime to studying the human mind, applying that research to their own life, and growing through it.

Author Professor Kim Jung-ho delivers a clear and concise message throughout the book: in order to truly free ourselves from the trials of life, we must neither resist nor avoid them. We must bend and sway with the trials, becoming one with life itself. We must practice embracing life as it is, without being shaken by the trials that come our way. So, how can we develop a mind that remains steadfast and unbroken amidst turmoil? The answer lies within the pages of this book.

While psychology is undoubtedly useful in navigating life, presenting only rigid theories makes it difficult to apply them to everyday situations. Therefore, the author has integrated essential techniques for mastering the mind into modest, relatable everyday experiences that anyone can empathize with. Read this book lightly, sometimes laughing and saying, "Yes, I've been there too," and other times shedding tears of comfort instead of holding back. Your once heavy heart will gradually lighten without finding a shadowy place to settle.

Go Sunkyu's Mourning of Six Nights

Title: "Mourning of Six Nights"

In South Korea, burdened with the stigma of being the country with the highest suicide rate in the OECD, where an average of 36.1 people commit suicide every day, there has been a significant increase in the suicide rate among young people by 2030. In light of this, on November 20th, coinciding with the "World Day of Remembrance for Suicide Survivors," a "unprecedented attempt" was made in Korea with the publication of a book. This book, titled "Mourning of Six Nights," was co-authored by Dr. Ko Seon-gyu, a leading expert in suicide bereavement counseling in Korea, along with five survivors of suicide bereavement.

From the stories about "that day" when the deceased departed, to reflections on the funeral day, how to inform others about the death, the emotions and letters of the bereaved seeking the reasons for the death, stories about mementos and guilt, and how to deal with the traces of the deceased in the digital world, the book guides mourning through a total of six nights, discussing over 40 topics. Dr. Go Sunkyu, who leads the clinical psychology group MindsWorks through the Central Psychological Autopsy Center and the suicide bereavement support organization Marigold, separately gathered five bereaved individuals for counseling sessions and meetings specifically for this book. Over a year, they conducted additional research and collected materials to diligently write this book.

Unlike typical support group compilations or personal essays of bereaved individuals, "Mourning of Six Nights" goes further by not only presenting raw "testimonies" from suicide bereaved individuals but also having clinical psychologists directly extract and interpret these testimonies, uncovering their "hidden meanings" and sparing no effort in providing "counseling, advice, and assistance" for genuine mourning. Real experiences and expert opinions are harmoniously and robustly presented throughout the 300 pages.

While the Ministry of Health and Welfare supports suicide prevention policies and various groups and organizations supporting suicide bereaved families advocate for support groups, there is still a lack of information on "how to effectively conduct" these groups, "what questions and topics should be addressed," and "how much involvement and interpretation by professionals is desirable." This situation is similar worldwide. In this context, "Mourning of Six Nights" stands out as the first "mourning guidebook" for suicide bereaved individuals, a novel attempt never seen or heard of anywhere else in the world. The fact that such a groundbreaking attempt took place in Korea, coinciding with the "World Day of Remembrance for Suicide Survivors" designated every third Saturday of November in the United States, is even more significant, as it seems to reflect Koreans' concern, worry, and anxiety about the soaring suicide rate. After spending "six nights" (as structured in the book) with five bereaved individuals and psychologists who participated as "actual witnesses to mourning," readers who feel exhausted and broken-hearted will gradually gain the courage to step back into their lives and into the midst of people.

Kim Chan-gyul's Ashes and Foam

A shaman, Mari, who offers prayers to the sea on behalf of the islanders, becomes enchanted by the beautiful mermaid, Sua, and gets too close, falling into the sea. Sua, who rescues Mari, captivates her with a curious and affectionate demeanor despite being unable to speak human language. As the two solitary beings grow tenderly close, rumors spread across the island that "the shaman and the monster have become inseparable." When a typhoon hits the village causing significant damage, the islanders turn their blame towards Mari and Sua. From the moment when firewood is prepared to burn Mari and a harpoon is readied to pierce Sua, their long journey towards true love begins.

-John Berger's book was a required elective book for my major, interestingly.

-Wow, this makes me want to read more books ㅋㅋㅋ

-Wow, as an engineering student, these books seem difficult to readㅠㅠ Impressive.

-Even though she's busy, her determination to read books is really cool.

-It's admirable to read books when you're busy. I just crash as soon as I get off work...

-When Breath Becomes Air. I recommend this too!!

-Many seem interesting, I should take note.

-Just looking at the book list is cool...

-Yunjin is really cool

-Wow, it would be nice if the book list is regularly updated.

-It's really  impressive of her to find time to read even when she's busy.

-She reads a lot of good books. She said she was planning to go to university after leaving her company, it seems like she would do really well even if she chose that path.

-Yunjin is busy and yet she still has the time to read books. What a perfect life.

-Wow, there's a reason why Yunjin is smart.

-She's so smart. I'm the type who doesn't read because it seems boring...

-It's impressive considering how busy she is...

-Should add to next month's reading list.

-Wow... She reads all of that? Impressive...

-Wow, it seems like she reads a lot. I noticed in Point of Omniscient Interfere that she carries many books around.

The Reason why Huh Yunjin is Currently Trending at Number 2 on Namu Wiki

The book she was spotted reading in Point of Omniscient Interfere is about feminism, and this has sparked controversy.

-It's so cool to see someone read a lot of books... It's even cooler that they take notes while reading.

-The concept of LE SSERAFIM itself is inseparable from feminism.

-Impressiveㅠㅠ Those idiots who don't even know the basics of feminism but keep babbling about it are pathetic. They use feminism as a curse word because they're idiots. Read some books, you idiots!

-Honestly, in the US, if someone says anything about whatever book someone else is reading, it's literally an infringement of personal freedom. They could even get sued.

-It's hilarious that while women are reading books, all these guys can do is browse Namuwiki.

-Wow, even in her busy schedule, she reads and studies about gender equality. Impressive. I reflect on my laziness ㅠㅠ.

-Yunjin is really cool. So smart.

-It's great to see someone carrying around so many books like that.

-I don't know her personally, but it's really cool that she reads a lot!

-Wow, even for an average person in their 20s, it's rare to read books at that level, and nowadays it's even rarer because people prefer easy and sentimental reads. It's really impressive.

-Is it true that the book is related to feminism? I haven't read it so I don't know.

-Sigh, these losers... Yoonjin is truly a smart person.

-It's hilarious why this became a trending topic, but anyway, she's cool. I support her.

-What? Feminist books? I really support it, I should read it too.

-The books Yunjin reads are good, I should follow and build up my knowledge. Why make a fuss about reading other people's books?

-Carrying around multiple books like that is super cool.

-Ordinary people don't really use Namuwiki much, it's mostly weirdos who do.

Summary of SM Male Trainees Over the Past Decade (NCT, RIIZE)

🚨The year may not be exact🚨

There was a trainee turnover after EXO's debut in 2012.

Around that time, NCT's Taeyong joined the company.

Shortly after, he became the leader of the trainees and began leading the training.

In the same year, NCT members Jaehyun, Mark, and Yuta joined.

Johnny (from Chicago) joined SM in 2007 and only came to Korea for training during vacations.

It's said that Taeyong once went to pick up Johnny at the airport...

The following year, 2013,

NCT members Taeil, Doyoung, Ten, Winwin, Haechan, Jeno, Jaemin, and Jisung joined.

From this point, the vibe of a bustling big family began.

After that,

In 2015, Renjun joined.

In 2016, Chenle also joined.

After practicing together for a while,

In 2016, NCT U, NCT 127, and NCT Dream debuted.

After their debut, the member who became the leader of the trainees was

NCT's Jungwoo (joined in 2014, joined NCT in 2018).

At this time, there were also many foreign trainees, but Jungwoo was the eldest among the Koreans, and Kun from NCT was the eldest among the foreigners, and both played a leadership-like role as senior trainees.

The trainee who came in when Jungwoo was the leader of the trainees was

RIIZE's Sungchan (Joined in 2016)

Sungchan said he learned about trainee life in general from Jungwoo when he first joined the company.

(For reference, Jungwoo learned how to buy meals in SM Ent. from Doyoung and Jaehyun)

The following year, in 2017,  Eunseok, who is the same age as Sungchan, joined, and Jungwoo's children were born.

(= Referring to the trainees who trained together during Jungwoo's leadership, a term coined by Doyoung)

During this time, the WayV members were also practicing together.

The members involved in the infamous cola water purifier incident

〈Jungwoo, Seongchan, Eunseok, and WayV members〉

Curious if cola would turn into purified water in the water purifier, they filled an empty bottle with cola, and for the next 6 months, the water had a cola scent.

In 2018, Jungwoo debuted with NCT U in "Boss".

WayV debuted in 2019.

When WayV debuted, Sungchan became the eldest trainee.

The trainees who came in at that time were

RIIZE's Wonbin (Joined in 2019)

(Wonbin, please share some trainee stories...)

After that, Shotaro, Sohee, and Anton joined in order.

In September 2023, RIIZE debuted.

And now, among the members of NCT's final team, NCT Wish,

Long-time trainees Sion (joined in 2018) and Yushi (joined in 2016)

practice together with some members of NCT and RIIZE.

Especially Yushi who joined at a very young age and even witnessed the debut of NCT Dream.

The shining Yushi, who was very shy, joined the company around the time when NCT Dream debuted. Although he didn't say anything, he watched the Dream members learn to ride hoverboards. After the summer vacation training ended, he returned to Japan and immediately bought a hoverboard and started to learn how to ride it.

Quiet but with a passion greater than anyone else's in his heart, our Yushi is making his debut.

Thus, the final debut of the grand NCT and RIIZE is complete.

TMI

1. Eunseok and Jungwoo shared a dorm together when they were trainees.

2. Wonbin and Sion became close due to their similarities of being the same age, coming from regional areas (Ulsan, Mokpo), and being cast through DMs. They were always spotted together.

Trainees spotted in SM Town Concert
The one in the black hoodie is Wonbin, the one in the green vest is Sion.

3. Anton and Yushi are close friends, as they are the same age.

4. Anton's first encounter with a trainee after joining was Wonbin, and the first impression was intimidating.

5. Eunseok and Sion were spotted going to practice together during their trainee days.  It seems like Eunseok, Sion, and Wonbin practiced together for a long time and were close.

6. Shotaro's first friend upon arriving in Korea was Wonbin.

7. In the growl cover video that Shotaro uploaded during his time with NCT, the person dancing alongside him wearing a black hat is Yuushi, who was 17 at that time.

8. There are so many anecdotes about NCT trainees... It's almost like we need to start a new thread.

For instance, Taeyong noticing that the company were picking trainees to debut so he made them practice even harder; Taeyong ensuring Haechan, who was too young, to not go home alone but with Mark after practice; Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jaemin, and Jeno went to COEX; when Doyoung took Haechan, Jaemin, and Jeno to the Han River on a holiday; inviting foreign members (Johnny, Ten, Yuta) to Doyoung's house for holidays... and so on.

9. Also, among the trainees who debuted in other companies, it's presumed that some briefly trained in SM during the time when Jungwoo was the trainee leader, such as Enhypen's Jungwon (joined in 2017) and TWS's Shinyu (exact year unknown).

SM has a trainee system, so there are many trainees who passed through briefly.

And that's it.

theqoo

-The Dream members were really babies, huh.

-This is interesting.

-I need more stories about RIIZEㅋㅋㅋ

-The Dream members joined when they were so young...

-NCT had many members and activities as rookies, so there are lots of interesting stories. RIIZE and Wish are still newbies, so there aren't many stories yet. From what I saw at SM Town Concert, the two teams seemed really close, so I hope they share a lot in the future.

-So Jungwon was in SM, huh? Even Shinyu?ㅋㅋㅋ I'm curious about those stories.

-RIIZE hasn't had many chances to share stories yet. It's only been half a year since their debut, so they're not doing many live broadcasts or using Bubble yet. Waiting for the day they share trainee stories.

-Taeyong was the youngest when he joined, but then all the older ones left, and he clung to them crying, like, what should I do? And now he's the leader of NCT.

-They must have worked hard from a young age.

-Can't wait for Jungwoo's Children's stories to be revealed...

-I'm really curious about RIIZE's stories as trainees

-Taeyong, Jungwoo, Sungchan, especially, must have felt proud and pitiful. Just imagine, their older brothers who trained with them either debuted or left, and suddenly they became leaders, leading the practice, and they're still young.

-In RIIZE, Anton was the first one to join and Sohee was the last to join in 2022.

-Johnny, in the early days of his trainee life, traveled between the US and Korea... He also practiced when  EXO was formed, so he was a trainee for almost 9 years?

-NCT has been together for so long and has so many members, so they have the vibe of a big family ㅠㅜ Let's be happy together.

-If it weren't for the NCT system, with so many members, they probably wouldn't have all debuted...? In a way, it seems like a well-made system.

-There are not many Jungwoo's Children moments, right? Even just watching the videos, they were so heartwarming and fun

Actor L's Remains Silent in Response to Inquiry on 'Intimate Pictures and Cutting Off Contact'

TV Daily has reached out to Actor L's representatives regarding the issue, but has not received any response. The breakup, as disclosed by Person A, which caused distress, occurred within the context of a romantic relationship and thus may not be subject to controversy. However, if Actor L persisted in possessing intimate photos despite Person A's requests, the narrative would change.

Nonetheless, Actor L seems eager to keep his identity concealed.

theqoo

-Wow, if this is true, I really don't want to see him on variety shows. Disgusting. But I see comments saying that the ghosting isn't an issue, why is it not a problem? Can someone explain? Is it because it's not legally problematic?

-Or just say "no" if it's not true.

-If it's true, I hope he quits the entertainment industry.

-Now he'll contact herㅋㅋㅋ He should have been courteous to someone he dated for four years.

-There were many comments blaming the woman yesterday, but obviously, the one who deserves criticism is the man. Men are crazy.

-What good does it do to stay silent in such a situation? Honestly, if this weren't true, they should have come out with a firm response already.

-Is that person for real? Wow.

-The woman already suffered enough. Meanwhile, the actor disclosed his identity, he's probably waiting for things to calm down quietly.

-I don't know who the actor is, but it's hard to understand why people are subtly criticizing the OP. If your boyfriend disappears after having all sorts of photos, it's natural to be anxious, right? Just think about it from her perspective.

-Nothing has been confirmed yet.

-It seems like he's currently negotiating with the woman who posted the article.

-Those who blame the woman from the moment the post goes up are really like idiots, you know.

-Are those who blame the woman in their right mind?

-Who is it? Why am I the only one who doesn't know?

-Damn, this is disgusting.. Make sure to delete all the photos and never appear on TV again because it's disgusting.

-Or just say no right away. Remaining silent seems like admitting it, doesn't it?;;

-No.... It's not like he forced her to send the photos.  It's not like he cheated on her..

-I still don't know who it is.

-If it's not true, they should have made a statement earlier, they shouldn't let rumors spread all weekend.

-Wow, seriously, blaming the woman is really bullshit.
