Jung Yumi to Co-Star with Ju Jihoon in New Romance Drama Directed by Park Jun-hwa
Actress Jung Yumi returns to the small screen with a romance drama after four years.
According to broadcasting officials on the 21st, Jung Yumi and Ju Jihoon are set to collaborate as lead actors in a romance drama.
While the drama was initially known by the title "Love on a Single Log Bridge," there are internal discussions about a new title.
The drama depicts the story of a man and a woman who passionately loved each other in their late teens but separated due to opposition from their families. They reunite after 15 years and navigate through twists and turns to rebuild their love. It is a romance that portrays the characters overcoming destiny and various obstacles.
Jung Yumi takes on the role of Yoon Jiwon, who was in a relationship with Ju Ji-hoon during high school and reunites with him as adults. This marks her return to a lead role in a drama after four years since the 2020 Netflix series "The School Nurse Files." Particularly, fans are eager to see if Jeong Yoo-mi's charming "Yumvely" character, which she showcased in romantic dramas, will be revealed.
Ju Jihoon, who last appeared in a romance drama 18 years ago with MBC's "Princess Hours" in 2006, has already garnered attention both in and outside the broadcasting industry for his return to the romance genre.
The director for the drama is Park Jun-hwa, known for his work on romance dramas like tvN's "Because This Is My First Life," "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim," "Alchemy of Souls", and more. The script is written by Im Ye-jin, the author behind KBS 2TV's "Love in The Moonlight" and "The Tale of Nokdu."
The production team is currently refining some settings and details of the drama, with plans to soon begin the official casting for main and supporting roles.
-It's been a while since we've seen Jung Yumi in a romantic comedy.
-Why do they keep using Ju Jihoon in the industry? He has no acting skills, no ticket power, and a criminal record, I don't understand.
-Every time Ju Jihoon comes out, the reaction is terrible, so why do they keep casting him?
-Ju Jihoon isn't even that great at acting, and he's not super handsome, so why does he get cast a lot? Does he have a lot of fans in the industry?
-Isn't Ju Jihoon just cast a lot because he's a top star? His filmography is quite impressive.
-I was only waiting for Yumi's next drama, and now this crap... Damn it.
-Ju Jihoon's drug case happened over 10 years ago, and he's overcome it and is living well, so should people like him not get a second chance?
The director of 'Marry My Husband' was asked about the reason for casting BoA
"In the first half, Lee Yi-kyung and Song Ha-yoon played villains, while in the second half, BoA was newly introduced and changed the atmosphere. What was the reason for casting BoA?
▶(Park Won-guk) We were looking for an actor with such a strong presence and charm that viewers could react with 'Why is that actor appearing there?' when Oh Yoo-ra first appeared on screen. We believed that BoA, who radiates infinite charm while possessing enough charisma to dominate everyone around her, was suitable for the role of Oh Yoo-ra."
-...?ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
-Oh, the director of this drama was Park Won-guk?
-But that was totally unnecessary...
-I understand the intention behind it.
-They just wanted to use a well-known actor for a supporting antagonist role, but it's difficult to cast such a professional actor for a mid-story supporting role, so they used BoA for her name value.
-Ironically, it felt like the drama lost its momentum after Oh Yoo-ra appeared.
-I understand the intention, but it seems like BoA couldn't pull it off.
-BoA is more of a top figure in the music industry; she doesn't have much of a career as an actress. Viewers question 'Why her?'... and she couldn't even act properly.
-They should have prioritized acting skills in the first place before anything else.
-I understand the intention, but Oh Yoo-ra's character itself wasn't that great.
-I really like BoA as a singer, but I don't think she has that level of presence as an actress...
-But I think anyone would struggle to pull off that role.
-They wanted a famous celebrity, but also wanted it to be surprising and generate buzz. But it would have been difficult to cast a top actor (considering BoA's status and name value in the music industry, it's hard to imagine a top actor with such a career appearing in the latter part of the drama and playing the role of a mistress) So it seems like they wanted to use a well-known actor from the music industry.
-Apart from the acting, the character itself was strange, and it feels like BoA got all the criticism for it, which is unfortunate
-Wouldn't it have been better if they brought in actors like Yeon Min-jeong or Chun Seo-jin?
-It's sad that BoA received criticism, but many people, including me, stopped watching after Oh Yoo-ra appeared.

An online community user asked a dentist about the current situation
I went to an acquaitance who happens to be a dentist to have wisdom teeth pulled and asked a few things about the current situation.
Q. Are dentists not participating in the protest?
A. Medical school expansion and dental school are separate. Initially, there was an impression that dentistry was already saturated, but they seem to have it easy over there.
Q. So, you're unaffected by the current situation?
A. Not really.
Q. What do you think about the medical association?
A. It's too large an organization to reflect individual doctors well. It seems a bit outdated. Dentists, being relatively few in number, can be more flexible among ourselves if we face similar public opinion backlash, like 'let's not fight among ourselves,' but they seem not to have that. They're terrible at public relations.
Q. What do you think about installing CCTV?
A. At least in dentistry, I don't think there would be much opposition. I don't know how common the problem of doctors delegating surgeries to others is, but in dentistry, it's rare to have general anesthesia, and most of the time it's technical work like using handpieces. We can't just ask anyone to do it. If I can't do it, I refer the patient to another dentist.
Q. But are dentists really doctors?
A. For f*ck's sake, at least I've done full-body dissections.
Q. If there's a medical emergency on a plane and the flight attendants ask if there's a doctor, do you step up to help?
A. I can provide basic emergency care. Even nurses or oriental medicine doctors learn that much.
Q. Can you pronounce someone dead?
A. Do you want me to pronounce your death?
Q. But if there were to be a strike, how would it be done?
A. They'd hold patients hostage, but we could maybe hold wisdom teeth hostage at best.
Q. What if there's a patient dying from a fatal tooth disease?
A. Just fucking extract it.
Q. Do you have any advice for the general public?
A. Scaling is covered by insurance now, but many people don't know. Get it done.
-Wisdom teeth are really annoying, but suddenly being held hostage there makes them feel preciousㅋㅋㅋ
-I'll go to the dentist often.
-Scaling covered by insurance once a year.
-Where is this dentist? I suddenly want to visit, it's the first time I've felt this way about a dentistㅋㅋㅋ
-Dentists might be expensive, but at least they provide cosmetic treatments and don't refuse regular patients, there aren't any jerks like thatㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
-I still have two wisdom teeth leftㄷㄷㄷ
-Are dentists naturally funny???
-But seriously, when dentists feel like they can't handle something, they quickly refer you to another hospital haha. I was also referred to another dental clinic because I had an impacted wisdom tooth.

A rookie girl group song mentions the name of senior idols from the K-pop industry in their lyrics
Waiting for the day we'll meet someday, the sweat I shed will take me there
Mom said it would be tough for me, but it doesn't matter, thank you for believing in me
Just wait a little longer, every day
Practice and practice, that's all I need
Sometimes, the uncertain future
(but it's my only dream)
Keeps me from sleeping
But since it lets me breathe, I can't help it
(shining like you shining, shining like a star)
BLACKPINK in your area, Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, Lisa
