(Taeyeon's concert) "Pre-sale ticket system, isn't that a reverse discrimination?"

"Pre-sale ticket system, isn't that a reverse discrimination?"

On the 14th, all tickets for the three performances of SNSD Taeyeon's Seoul concert 'TAEYEON CONCERT - The TENSE' in Seoul sold out during the pre-sale exclusively for official fan club members. Taeyeon once again proved her power, living up to her nickname '믿듣탱' (NB: Taengoo who you can trust/Trustworthy Taeng).

However, two days after the pre-sale, on the 16th, complaints arose among fans who tried to purchase tickets through general sales. They argued that the pre-sale system discriminates against fans who are not members of the official fan club.

Despite being a pre-sale exclusively for fan club members, the ticket queue for Taeyeon’s concert exceeded 100,000 people. Typically, when seats for fan club members are sold out, only restricted-view seats or canceled early-sale tickets are opened for general sale. Given that the Olympic Gymnastics Arena, where the concert will be held, has a total capacity of 14,730 seats, getting tickets through general sales is almost impossible.

One netizen commented, "Isn't this a system where you have to join the fan club to go to the concert?" They added, "Why don't they just raise the ticket price (including the fan club membership fee) and give general fans a chance first? The membership fee for the official SNSD fan club, which is required for the concert pre-sale, is 30,000 KRW and is valid for one year. Even if you fail to get tickets during the pre-sale, the membership fee is non-refundable. Another netizen said, "It's essentially charging a fee for trying to get tickets, which is unfair to people who just want to go to the concert."

(NB: The post in Theqoo only quoted the article to this point. Below is the part from the original article that isn't quoted by the OP in Theqoo)

It's not just Taeyeon's concert. Recently, most artists' concerts like BTS, The Boyz, Aespa, etc have been held with pre-sales for fan club members, and the remaining seats are then sold through general sales.

For Taeyeon's concert, it was stated that, "General sales will be conducted only for the remaining seats after the fan club pre-sale, and if the pre-sale for fan club members is sold out, there may be no seats available for general sales."

However, there are also differing opinions. One netizen, identifying as a fan of Taeyeon, argued, "It is only natural for fans of the artist to be given priority. With the fan club membership, we can communicate with the artist and purchase various merchandise. I believe it's a good system that allows fans who have actively supported the artist to secure tickets more easily."

Pop culture critic Ha Jaegeun analyzed, "From the agency's perspective, they have no choice but to give more opportunities to fans who passionately support the artist's activities," and added, "It's also their way to prevent people from reselling the tickets using macro systems. He continued, "Of course, it's possible to separate seats for general sales, but prioritizing fans who actively consume the artist's content is beneficial for strengthening the fan base."

Isn't it better to pay 30,000 won a year for a pre-sale opportunity rather than increasing ticket prices? You can also get pre-sale tickets for encore concerts and fan meetings.

theqoo

-ㅋㅋ Are you new to concerts? Why are you even mentioning Taeyeon's name there? People are making a fuss over everything.

-Did the journalist fail to get tickets?

-Reverse discrimination? What does that even mean? I don't understand.

-Just join the fan club;

-What is this nonsense? Has the journalist never tried ticketing?

-Today is the general sales, so try again, and calm down.

-Looks like the journalist didn't want to pay for the fan club membership fee and tried to get tickets for Taeyeon's concert but failed.

-Oh Gosh... You dumbass.

-Looks like the journalist was angry after preparing for the ticketing at 8PM yesterdayㅋㅋㅋ The general sales is today.

-Did you fail to get tickets? What kind of nonsense is this?

-I mean... Why do you think they have official fan clubs for?

-It's not reverse discrimination, it's called fan club privilege. If you want to go to the concert, join the fan club.

-Did he even consider thinking first before writing this article?

-Another person who doesn't know what they're talking about...

Appearances in variety show backfires ... Lee Heejun's self-pity and Lee Jehoon's zero survival skills drop their likeability

It seems that Lee Heejun and Lee Jehoon's appearances on variety shows turned out to be poison rather than benefit. Both actors revealed their true personalities behind their characters in dramas by appearing on various variety shows. However, they failed to gain public favor and instead were highlighted for their flaws.

Song Joongki and Lee Heejun appeared as guests on the episode of JTBC's 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator' on January 12th. Lee Heejun drew attention with his unique behavior and remarks on the show. He stated, "I don't care about taste," and dipped vegetables in truffle oil, which made viewers raise their eyebrows. The ingredients in his refrigerator reflected Lee Heejun's comfortable lifestyle.

He expressed self-pity, saying, "I feel sorry for myself because I have to finish my meals within 15 to 20 minutes." However, most office workers find this difficult to relate. His statement about having rice and seaweed soup cooked by his wife every morning also lacked consistency. In the scene where he was moved by Chef Choi Hyunsuk's dish, Lee Heejun repeatedly said, "I feel sorry for myself because I've been working so hard that I forgot how to appreciate taste." This reaction came off as exaggerated and unnatural.

The most controversial part was his attitude towards Chef Kim Poong. When the chef chose him, Lee Heejun couldn't hide his expressions and showed a rude behavior towards the chef's dish. He even ignored Song Joongki's positive reaction. Despite gaining popularity through his stable acting skills in previous works, Lee Heejun's behavior in 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator' fell short of the viewers' expectations, negatively impacting his image.

Meanwhile, Lee Jehoon's appearance on tvN's 'Rented in Finland,' is also receiving disappointing reactions. The program, which aired its first episode on January 6, gained high expectations with its fresh lineup including Lee Jehoon, Lee Dongho, Kwak Dongyeon, and Cha Eunwoo. However, it has been criticized as 'A celebrity travel show lacking both fun and emotion' after its release.

In particular, viewers are feeling disappointed with Lee Jehoon's lack of basic life skills. The scene where he couldn't even make scrambled eggs properly, despite being in his 40s, sparked debate among viewers. Since he usually runs an independent film Youtube channel and has always shown his cute side on variety shows, there were high expectations that he would also be charming in terms of his life skills. However, this turned out to be a point of criticism.

'Rented in Finland' started with a viewer rating of 3.3% for its first episode. However, the ratings have dropped to 2.4% in recent episodes. He also received similar criticism when he appeared on JTBC's 'Traveler' in 2019, which further increased his disappointment.

Actors often appear on variety shows to showcase their true personalities beyond their characters in dramas and to connect with the viewers on a more personal level. Lee Heejun and Lee Jehoon likely anticipated positive reactions as they challenged themselves to appear on variety shows. However, instead of showing a different and charming side of themselves, they ended up revealing their disappointing sides. This led to public criticism that their appearance on the show was a worse choice than not appearing at all.

theqoo

-ㅋㅋㅋ It seems like everyone's thinking the same thing. I also thought his behavior on 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator' was such a turn-offㅋㅋ

-It's not like they asked him to make side dishes... I can totally understand why people think it's such a turn-off when he couldn't even make a simple scrambled egg. I didn't think much of it, though... But did he really deserve to get criticized for that...?

-It’s not a crime for Lee Jehoon to not know how to cookㅋㅋㅋㅋ 'm not sure about Lee Heejun's concept, but it was rude of him to disrespect Kim Poong. Kim Poong chose to cook for him and he straight up said that he didn't like Kim Poong's cooking style. I got secondhand embarrassment while watching that.

-Compared to Lee Heejun's case, Lee Jehoon is actually adorable.

-All Lee Jehoon did was being not being able to cook. But he diligently helped others prepare breakfast, helped the others cooking, and even worked hard to clean up. He doesn't deserve this level of criticismㅠㅠ

-We're living in a world where you get criticized for not knowing how to make scrambled eggs...

-I didn't watch Lee Jehoon's show, so I don't know much. But honestly, Lee Heejun surprised me.

-Lee Jehoon just doesn't have that sense, that's just how he is. Besides, it's not like he ever has to cook for himself. So, I don't think he should be criticized just because of that.

-Is not knowing how to cook the same as being rude? Anyway, thankfully, neither of them are my husband.

-Honestly, I’m not even a fan, but I don’t get why Lee Jehoon is being criticized so muchㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅠㅠ His scrambled egg did surprise me, but other than that, there was nothing really wrong with him.

-No matter how bad you are at cooking, I just don't understand why he had to dump that much salt in the scrambled egg... I'd understand if he usually eats that salty, though.

-You really need to watch Lee Jehoon's clips... For me, it wasn't even the butter that surprised me. It's the salt. Whoa... I couldn't even say anything because it was so absurd.

-Other than that, Lee Jehoon was really good at cleaning and tidying up. He was also a great helper to Cha Eunwoo while he was cooking.

-Lee Heejun was really disappointing on 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator'

-I'm not a celebrity, so I don't know, but sometimes I think celebrities who maintain a normal, everyday person's sensibility are truly amazing.

Analyzing ATEEZ Hongjoong's lyrics, which seems targeting HYBE's reports and Bang Sihyuk

Should I be mad?

Not a single thing is fun (about this)

Act your age, you good-for-nothing

Just nod-nod, clap-clap (NB: Referring to a Korean nursery rhyme)

Why are you mad?

Do you think you're something special, hitman?

If you’ve got time to observe others, watch your own back

Du-du-du, bang

Life blinded by envy and jealousy

The way you curse while mentioning names

You'll be playing mind games all your life

You never work when it’s time to, you just keep getting mad later

Oh Gosh, it's so hot

Look at me fanning the flames, setting the remains of your house in fire, you old boomer

I know it's unfair

Yeah, yeah, that brand's muse is already me Yeah, yeah, your keyboard makes mе money Fame, yeah, don't bе too mad, I'm sorry Yeah, yeah, there's no way

theqoo

-Does he have anything to do with Bang Sihyuk too?

-This is f*cking hip-hop... 'Act your age, you good-for-nothing'ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-This is what hip-hop is.

-Oh, was his group mentioned in HYBE's report too?

-Ah... He mentioned 'Hitman' in the lyricsㅋㅋㅋ

-'Life blinded by envy and jealousy' << This is very accurate.

-I can hear BTS' fans freaking out from here.

-I'm a HYBE stan, but honestly, they deserve to be dissed even worse.

-Even if his group wasn't mentioned in HYBE's report, it's natural for him to be angry as he's also in the same industry.

-Hitman ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ And he also mentioned 'Bang' in the end. It's obvious he's attacking them.

-'Do you think you're something special, hitman?'~

-Wait... I didn't know he was this manlyㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-HYBE stans must be shaking in anger right nowㅋㅎㅋㅎ

-The lyrics are so good~^^

SHINee's full-group performance falls through leads to an unnecessary search for someone to blame

https://naver.me/GsjhLDD3

SHINee's absence as a full-group at SMTOWN Concert has sparked conflicts among fans as the 'Find the culprit' game is intensifying over who is responsible for this.

On January 11 and 12, SM Entertainment held a joint concert at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul to commemorate its 30th anniversary. While most SM artists participated, only Minho and Key from SHINee attended. Onew and Taemin, who left SM Entertainment in March last year and signed with Griffin Entertainment and Big Planet Made, respectively, did not attend.

Fans who were expecting a complete group performance started to speculate about the reasons for Taemin and Onew's absence. Onew had just released his 4th minialbum 'CONNECTION' on January 6, while Taemin is in the middle of his first world tour, 'Ephemeral Gaze.' However, since there were no other scheduled events between his Macau concert on January 4th and his Mexico concert on January 28th, there was no reason why he couldn't have participated in the SMTOWN Live. However, while Onew appeared in SM's 30th-anniversary content, Taemin did not.

Initally, Onew faced criticism because there were claims that he was uncooperative with group activities after releasing his solo album to fulfill his individual schedule. In response, the CEO of Onew's agency expressed his dissatisfaction through his personal SNS account, saying, "We're constantly receiving cancellations for the same reason. How much longer are we supposed to wait? Isn't there a problem?". They claimed that it wasn't their fault. The CEO continued to express their dissatisfaction and also stated, "SM is doing a good job."

Because of the CEO of Onew's agency saying there were no problems between them and SM, attention turned to Taemin's agency, Big Planet Made. On the 15th, Big Planet Made released an official statement through their SNS. Big Planet Made stated, "We are aware of the concerns regarding Taemin's activities with SHINee," and added, "All the content recently posted on SNS contains clear false information, and we will take strong legal action against such false information."

Big Planet Made especially emphasized, "Our company always supports and encourages Taemin's activities with SHINee, which he greatly loves," and added, "We are doing our best to provide full support so that our artist can receive fair treatment and carry out his activities." The expression "fair treatment" in the statement has once again sparked a debate among fans over who is responsible.

The reason why fans are trying to find out the reason why plans SHINee's full-group performance fell through is ultimately due to disappointment. It's become common for idol groups whose contracts have ended to leave their original agencies but still agree to continue group activities. In fact, some groups have successfully managed to pursue both individual and group activities. However, it's also common for plans to fall through due to changes in circumstances and different agencies. Even so, constantly trying to find the cause or blame for these situations isn't always good for the group's future. Instead of focusing on finding someone to blame, it might be more helpful for fans to believe that they will eventually come back together.

Despite difficulties in coordinating between the agencies, the four members have consistently expressed their desire for a complete SHINee group activity. Key and Minho, while performing at the SM Town concert, promised to appear as a full group next time. Separately from the company's stance, Taemin emphasized on the 13th that, "I, along with the other members, want to protect SHINee and write many more stories." Onew also mentioned the value of group activities in an interview. We look forward to seeing SHINee return to alleviate the disappointment caused by the incomplete group activity.

theqoo

-Poor Onew.

-I can't believe they stayed quiet when Onew was getting all the hate...ㅠ

-If the full-group performance wasn't important, why was Onew getting all the hate?? They spread rumors everywhere to the point even non-fans knew about itㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-Taemin-ah, what is this... The way BPM picking a fight with SM makes them look like HYBE.

-No need to look for the culprit. It's obvious already.

-BPM is acting way too much like HYBE.

-The more they do this kind of media play, the more it seems like Taemin is the reason why the full-group performance fell apartㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-Why did he join that company? I’m genuinely curious.

-Do they have no conscience?

-The one saying not to look for the culprit is usually the culpritㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-I didn’t like Onew, but this is very low of them.

-I guess they can't even deny it... They can only say 'don't look for the culrpit'...

-What’s with this 'culprit' nonsense? Where were articles like this when Onew was being getting all the hate?

-It would be better if they didn't do this kind of media playㅋㅋㅋ 'Unnecessary search for the culprit'ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Everyone already knows who the culprit is.

-I don't like Onew and frankly, I don't even know his face well. However, Taemin's side is so irritating. It's making his image getting worse.

Song Joongki breaks down in tears at Lee Sungmin’s words: "The actors feel like they want to die"

Lee Sungmin shared, "When I came here, I saw the parking lot was completely empty, and it broke my heart. It seems like there are hardly any people in the theater. There may be various reasons for this, but it's really tough for actors when there are no audiences in theaters. Especially when a movie is released during times like this, actors often feel like they want to die."

Song Joongki quietly nodded in agreement with every word Lee Sungmin said.

Lee Sungmin continued, "But still, it’s something we have to endure because we’re actors. Please give our movie as much support as you can so we can succeed until the end."

Lastly, Song Joongki took the microphone. "As my senior mentioned, the Korean film industry is going through a very difficult time these days. Honestly, just having a movie released in theaters is something we're really grateful for right now. We worked harder on promotions than ever before. We wanted to let people know about it and see it in a good light. Although the film industry is struggling, our role as actors is to create good content that comforts and entertains audiences who are going through tough times... So, we will do our best to create various works and be a source of strength for everyone."

Song Joongki then said, "As I talk about this, I feel like I'm about to cry..." and his voice trembled as he paused. After barely gathering himself, he said, "Thank you." His eyes welled up with tears. Lee Sungmin also became visibly emotional.

'Bogota', which was released on December 31st last year, is in a truly disastrous situation. As of the 15th, the cumulative audience is 400,000. The break-even point for this movie is 3 million viewers.

theqoo

-It's because the tickets are expensive and the movie is boring. Why are they acting like that while earning the amount of money that I can't even imagine?

-They get paid several years' worth of an average person's salary and yet they're complaining?? What a bullshitㅋㅋㅋ

-I'm struggling myself. Why should I watch a boring movie just because you're having a hard time? Just take care of your staff...

-Everyone is struggling in this economy!! During times like these, even reducing your fees could help create a better movie.

-If the movie is good, it will sell... Song Joongki's image is just becoming more unlikable over time.

-Even if the movie flops, the actors still get paid, right? A good movie will sell itself without much promotions.

-I don't understand when they say they want to die... Some people are literally dying right nowㅋㅋ Of course actors have their own struggles, but saying something like that in this day and age... It makes me wonder if they think death is that simple.

-I understand how they feel, but I just can’t sympathize at all.

-I get where they're coming from, but my own life is so tough that I can’t relate.

-Even so, they're still making a lot of money. What's there to cry about?

-It's not like they have to give back their fees if the movie flops, right?

-I don’t understand what they want us to do. I can’t relate at all.

-They probably each own a building anyway, so why should I feel sorry for them?

-Even if their movies fail, they can just go on to the next project and make a lot of money.

-Are you really making movies to comfort people who are struggling?ㅋㅋ
