SOURCE: '식스센스' 정철민 PD, 강제추행 혐의 첫 공판서 "추행 의도 없었다" 전면 부인
Director of 'Sixth Sense,' Jung Chulmin PD, has been sent to trial on charges of sexual assault and denied all allegations during the first hearing.
On the 14th, the Seoul Western District Court held the first trial regarding sexual assault charges against Jung Chulmin PD. The trial was held privately due to the sensitivity of the matter, and the court requested reporters to leave, judging that it was inappropriate for detailed information to be disclosed externally.
It was reported that Jung PD's side admitted to some phyisical contact with the victim, but stated that 'there was no intention to harass.' Additionally, he had also requested a jury trial, but it was not accepted due to opposition from the victim's side, and the case will proceed as a standard trial.
Jung PD is accused of making unwanted physical contact with a victim, who had previously worked together with him on a program. The victim claims that on their way to a team dinner, Jung PD touched her shoulders, arms, and neck.
Previously, the police decided not to forward the case, stating there was insufficient evidence to prove his intention. However, after the victim filed an objection, the prosecutors re-examined the case, reversed the decision, and indicted Jung PD without detention in February.
Prosecutors believe the charges are valid based on CCTV analysis from the time, which showed the victim attempting to avoid the phyiscal contact.
