Ock Joohyun publicly supports NewJeans amid agency dispute ... “You’ll become even more amazing people”

Singer and musical actress Ock Joohyun showed her support for NewJeans.

On December 17th, 'Matahari' cast members Ock Joohyun and Yoon Sabong appeared as guests on SBS Power FM's 'Wendy's Young Street.'

During the show, Ock Joohyun recommended NewJeans' song 'Ditto'.  

She explained, “Since I was once part of a girl group myself, I intentionally look up more news about my girl group juniors. NewJeans recently went through some complicated issues, and I really wanted to show my support. Watching what they’ve been experiencing recently, I’ve been silently rooting for them a lot.”

She added, “I don’t have any members I’m personally in contact with, but as a senior, I want to tell them this: rather than nothing happening at all, you’ll grow to become much more amazing people through these experiences. You’ll carry deeper emotions and become artists who can deliver even better music, so I want to cheer you on.”

She concluded, “I’ve also looked up a lot of their music and performances, and they’re great.”

Meanwhile, NewJeans recently declared the termination of their exclusive contract with their agency, HYBE Label’s ADOR, and has entered into legal disputes.
