Singer Eddy Kim (real name Kim Jung-hwan) is resuming activities after the controversy that took place 5 years ago. According to Mystic Story, his agency, on January 23, Eddy Kim will release a new song titled 'It Will Be Okay' through various music streaming sites at 6 p.m.
Producer Yoon Jong-shin, who collaborates with Mystic Story and presents various genres of music through his music project 'track by YOON,' supported Eddy Kim's comeback. 'It Will Be Okay' will be released as the 4th album under the 'track by YOON' format.
The agency stated, " 'It Will Be Okay,' presented by Eddy Kim and Yoon Jong-shin, is a song inspired by a voice message left by Eddy Kim, who was in his mid-20s and played acoustic guitar. It is a charming R&B ballad that is completed with vintage and retro electronic piano and synth sounds."
They added, "'It Will Be Okay' is a song that reflects on the inner contemplation of the frequently uttered phrase 'It will be okay,' which is often spoken habitually in the face of difficulties and worries in life. Through this song, Eddy Kim aims to convey not only the pain of parting but also comfort and empathy for life."
Eddy Kim's new song release comes after a hiatus of about 5 years. After releasing the OST 'Perhaps Love' for the tvN drama 'Memories of The Alhambra' in January 2019, he suspended his activities. In 2019, he faced charges related to the distribution of obscene materials and received a deferred prosecution decision in 2020.
Eddy Kim underwent police investigation for allegations of distributing obscene materials under the Information and Communication Network Act in 2019. The prosecution, considering that Eddy Kim's act of distributing obscene materials occurred only once and taking into account his deep reflection, decided on a deferred prosecution.
Mystic Story, Eddy Kim's agency, explained to Newsen on March 6, 2020, "Eddy Kim underwent a police investigation for allegations of distributing obscene materials at the end of March 2019. Subsequently, he was sent to the prosecution with the prosecution opinion and ultimately received a deferred prosecution decision."
They further stated, "While Eddy Kim did not personally shoot or distribute illegal videos, it was confirmed that he uploaded one captured image online. During the investigation, it was also confirmed that the chat room Eddy Kim was involved in was a separate chat room gathered as a hobby, unrelated to the problematic chat room that shared illegal filming materials."
The agency concluded, "Regardless of the content, Eddy Kim acknowledges that such behavior was reckless, and he deeply reflects on it. We sincerely apologize to those who may have been disappointed. In the future, Eddy Kim will strive to act with a heavy sense of responsibility and caution. We apologize once again for causing concern."
-Yeah, it's not getting any better.
-"Although Eddy Kim did not directly film or distribute illegal videos, he confirmed to have uploaded one image captured online, leading to a police investigation. In connection with this, Mystic Story, Eddy Kim's agency, officially announced in March 2020, 'During the police investigation, it was confirmed that the chatroom Eddy Kim was part of was unrelated to the chatroom where illegal filming materials were shared (by figures like Jung Joon-young), and it was a separate chatroom formed as a hobby.'" I almost misunderstood....
-Close friends coming out ahead of Jung Joon-young's release.
-If you're sorry, why are you coming out?
-Really, all kinds of bastards are making a comeback, huh.
-Is Eddy Kim still with Mystic?
-If only you read the whole content and judge... it's a case like Roy Kim's, and he has admitted his reflection.
-Oh... Yoon Jong-shin, disappointed.
-I think I saw a post about this being an unjust case, right?
-What kind of capture did he upload?
-Don't know who it is, but if the police investigated, there must be some wrongdoing, right?
-Seems like many people don't know that Yoon Jong-shin is just the same kind of person...ㅋㅋㅋ
-Male celebrities in Korea have it easy. If you apologize and come out, it's all good. Female celebrities get branded as trash with a bad image even if they apologize.
