Lawyers analyze Song Mino's willingness to re-enlist: "Likely a strategy aimed at sentencing"

WINNER's Song Mino, who faces a prison sentence for allegedly being absent without leave for 102 days while serving as a public service worker, has expressed his intention to re-enlist. This prompted a cold analysis from the legal community.

On the 28th, lawyer Lee Seungjae appeared on the Youtube channel 'Enterainment President Lee Jinho' and analyzed Song Mino's strategy for trial and his possible next steps. Regarding Song Mino quickly admitting to the charges, the lawyer said, "Since the facts, including KakaoTalk messages and witness statements, are very clear, he likely judged that denying them could've been disadvantageous for his sentencing."

In particular, regarding Song Mino's widely discussed statement about his willingness to re-enlist, he explained, "Re-serving for the period of absence is a standard procedure by the Military Service Act," and pointed out that it's 'less a personal choice and more a legal obligation.' Under current law, if someone is absent from duty for more than eight days and becomes subject to criminal punishment, their discharge is canceled and they must re-serve the unfulfilled period. He added, "The only way to avoid this is to serve a prison sentence of at least 1 year and 6 months," suggesting that the statement Song Mino made may be a strategic move to show remorse and seek leniency.

Song Mino began his alternative service in March 2023 but was indicted for leaving his workplace without valid reason for a total of 102 days between May and December of that year. At the first hearing held on the 21st, the prosecution requested a sentence of 1 year and 6 months in prison. In his final statement, Song Mino said, "If given the opportunity, I want to complete my service faithfully."

Legal experts believe that if Song Mino is found guilty and required to re-enlist, he is highly likely to be reassigned to an institution with a much stricter environment due to public scrutiny. Attention is now focused on the court's final sentencing and whether he can restore his damaged image by re-enlisting.

Lee Kwangsoo: "I got a real gold tooth with my own money for this project ... I should be reimbursed"

SOURCE: 이광수 “작품 위해 사비로 금니 했다…지금 시세로 정산해야” (컬투쇼)

Actor Lee Kwangsoo revealed that he actually got a real gold tooth for his role in a project.

On the broadcast of SBS PowerFM's 'Cultwo Show' on the 29th, Park Boyoung appeared as a special DJ while Lee Kwangsoo and Director Kim Sunghoon, who worked together on the Disney+ 'Gold Land' joined as guests.

On this broadcast, Park Boyoung said, "Because the makeup process would take a long time, Kwangsoo Oppa actually got a real gold tooth. The director even told him not to show it anywhere. So when he received an award in the middle of filming, he covered his mouth during the acceptance speech so it wouldn't be seen."

She continued, "One day, during promotions, the director seemed like he was running out of things to say, so he asked Kwangsoo Oppa to show his tooth. He basically spoiled the show himself," adding, "That was the first time the gold tooth was revealed. Thanks to that, a lot of people became curious and started wondering what kind of project it was."

When host Kim Taegyun asked, "So you paid for it yourself? It wasn't covered by the production budget?" Lee Kwangsoo laughed and replied, "I didn't specifically say I'd pay for it myself. They told me to get it, so I did. I still haven't been reimbursed yet. I'm still chasing down the money for that missing gold tooth."

Additionally, when Kim Taegyun asked, "Would you be paid based on the price at the time or the current price?" Lee Kwangsoo joked, "I think I should be paid at today's rate."

In response, Director Kim Sunghoon said, "It'll be settled soon," to which Lee Kwangsoo replied, "You've been settling it for over a year," drawing laughter.

Meanwhile, 'Gold Land' is a survival thriller about Heejoo (played by Park Boyoung) who gets her hands on 150 billion KRW worth of smuggled golds and fights to claim it all amid a chaotic world of greed and betrayal. The show will begin releasing the first two episodes on the 29th, with two new episodes dropping each week.

Kang Mina: "I'm very close with IOI ... Not joining the full-group reunion was the best decision"

SOURCE: [뮤:터뷰③]강미나 “아이오아이와 너무 친해..완전체 불참은 최선이었어요”

Actress Kang Mina shared her honest feelings about not participating in IOI's full-group activities.

Now in her 10th year since debut, Kang Mina has been active in various fields, including group activities with IOI, Gugudan, and also acting. While IOI reunites as a full-group for their 10th debut anniversary, Kang Mina decided to focus on her acting career despite her disappointment. How does Kang Mina feel now, a decade into her career?

On the 29th, Kang Mina met with Herald Muse at a cafe in Seoul, stating, "Honestly, I don't know the full details of the IOI project. I heard it's been in preparation since the second half of last year. I just finished filming an unreleased drama a month ago. There were also promotional schedules in between. I felt it would be difficult to participate in IOI's activities, so I thought it was best to convey my decision to the members."

However, she emphasized that she is still very close with the members, saying, "We're actually so close that we already know we're supporting one another. Even just a single like on social media makes me feel that they're watching and rooting for me. The members also leave comments on my posts, which I'm so grateful for, and I support them as well. If the timing works, I'd like to make a surprise visit to IOI's practice, but since I don't know any details, that might be difficult."

Many IOI's members are also active as actresses, including Kim Sejeong, Jung Chaeyeon, Kim Doyeon, and Kim Sohye. When asked if she discusses acting with these fellow members, she laughed and said, "We don't really talk about acting. When we meet, we usually talk about things like, 'How is your diet?', 'I heard this place is good,' or 'There's a nice wine bar. Let's go there together.'"

Having debuted in 2016, Kang Mina is now marking her 10th year in the entertainment industry. She said, "What I've felt most this year is wondering whether I can proudly say that I'm in my 10th year since debut. I'm not confident yet, but I'm trying to become an actress worthy of that milestone. I've looked back on the past often, but now I think more about how I should move forward."

Kang Mina also described 'If Wishes Could Kill' as a project that could be a turning point in her career, saying, "It doesn't feel real yet, but I'm very grateful that many people have watched it since its release. I think it could be a turning point for me. Those who like shamanism, horror, or gore genres will most likely enjoy this show. It's a project that feels like unraveling something ambiguous like a game where you're confused about what is real and what isn't."

Reflecting on her acting career, Kang Mina said, "Acting is very difficult and I constantly hit walls. I often feel unsure about my acting performance and I just kind of wing it while saying 'I don't know.' But when something deep inside me comes out unexpectedly, I feel a sense of achievement and charm. When I talk about my projects with such affection in interviews like this, I realize that I truly love acting. I believe I have filmed every single project with love."

What's happening with Danielle's 43 billion KRW lawsuit? ... ADOR's entire legal team resigns

SOURCE: 다니엘 430억 손배소에 무슨 일…어도어 변호인단 전원 사임

The legal team representing ADOR, which filed a damages lawsuit worth 43 billion KRW against former NewJeans' member Danielle, her family, and former ADOR CEO Min Heejin (now CEO of OOAK Records), has stepped down.

According to the legal community on the 29th, all five attorneys from Kim & Chang Law Firm who had been representing ADOR submitted their resignations to the court on the 24th.

It has been reported that the resignation is a measure taken by ADOR to handle the ongoing lawsuit more efficiently.

The resignation took place following the preparatory hearing for the damage lawsuit filed by ADOR against Danielle's side and former CEO Min Heejin held on the 26th of last month.

At the time, both sides showed sharp disagreement over the potential prolonging of the case. Danielle's side argued that ADOR was delaying proceedings by requesting for extensions, stating, "Danielle is an idol. If the lawsuit is prolonged, she will inevitably suffer damages. This is the most important period of her career."

In response, ADOR argued that they needed additional review time due to the complexity of the issues, stating, "This is not a lawsuit that determines whether the defendant can continue entertainment activities or not. She can decide on and carry out entertainment activities herself."

ADOR had requested a delay of the hearing schedule, but the court rejected it. The first formal hearing is set for May 14.

ADOR filed the damages lawsuit in last December, along with the termination of Danielle's exclusive contract. At the time ADOR stated, "We intend to hold a family member of Danielle and former CEO Min Heejin legally responsible, as they are responsible for causing this conflict and delayed the return of NewJeans."
