Fundraising for NewJeans ... Team Bunnies' member sent to the Family Court's Juvenile Division for violating the Act of Donation

A member of Team Bunnies, a fan group that raised donations to take legal action against malicious comments targeting NewJeans, has been sent to the Family Court's Juvenile Division for violating the Act on the Collection and Use of Donations. The decision was made considering the person in question is under the age of 18.

According to Chosun Biz on the 28th, the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office determined there were legal violations done by A, an underage member of Team Bunnies, and decided to send them to the Seoul Family Court's Juvenile Division. The prosecutors reportedly transferred this case as a protective case, rather than a criminal case, based on A's age and the seriousness of the action.

A legal expert explained, "It's highly likely this happened because they didn't fully understand the relevant law. Since the individual is a minor, they are mainly covered by the 'Juvenile Act,' and authorities decided this was not a matter for criminal punishment."

The Family Court’s Juvenile Division will review A’s age, the seriousness of the actions, and the possibility for reformation to determine the protective measures. Depending on the outcome, the court may impose counseling, community service, probation, or even dismiss the case entirely if it's deemed minor.

Team Bunnies is a part of the NewJeans fandom, 'Bunnies.' It was formed during the height of conflict between HYBE and ADOR last year to show support for NewJeans.

On October 21 last year, they started collecting donations online, claiming that they would 'take legal action against malicious posts targeting NewJeans.' They quickly raised over 50 million KRW in just 8 hours. However, this immediately led to a legal controversy over the violations of the donation collection law.

The current Donation Act states that anyone raising over 10 million KRW in donations must register with local authorities. Violation of this law can lead up to 3 years in prison or a fine of up to 30 million KRW. A citizen complaint was filed through the National Petition System, and the Seul Metropolitan Government confirmed that the fundraising was not registered in advance.

The fund are currently frozen as authorities are investigating. Depending on the investigation's outcome, any money that hasn't been used will be returned to the people who donated it as required by law, right after the investigation is finished.

Team Bunnies gained a lot of attention during the dispute between HYBE and former ADOR CEO Min Heejin. While their identities weren't officially revealed, they described themselves as "a group of experts from various fields who support NewJeans."

The group expressed support for Hanni's appearance at the National Assembly auditand sent messages and faxes to many politicians demanding the attendance of HYBE officials. They even released information they claimed was confidential company material, like documents comparing ADOR’s NewJeans project and BELIFT LAB’s ILLIT project.

The NewJeans fandom Bunnies later clarified, “Team Bunnies does not represent the opinions of the entire fandom.”

-This is ridiculous...

-Even if it was done by a minor, the adults should take responsibility. Why would anyone want to ruin a kid’s life like this?

-Did they use a minor as a scapegoat??? That is truly something.

-I can't believe it. They're basically saying this minor led the whole thing.

-There’s no way everyone in that team was a minor and no way it was just one person. But they put the minor up front? Wow.

-Weren’t they supposed to be a 'team'?

-A minor?? Didn't they say there were also people from the legal field involved? And yet they used a minor as their representative?

-Why would a minor do all that just to 'protect' a celebrity...?

-Something smells fishyㅎㅎㅎ

-Didn’t they meet with NewJeans’ family and lawyers? Did they really trust a minor to handle all this?

-ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Unbelievable;; Now that there’s a problem, they’re using the minor as a shield.

-Team Bunnies acted like an agency, putting out official statements and coordinating things with NewJeans... And now you're saying the person behind that is a minor? Does that make any sense?

-There’s more than one shady thing going on here.

-Did they use the minor’s bank account for the fundraising?

-NewJeans, please save them...

TWICE Chaeyoung's boyfriend, Zion.T: "I often get comment about being too skinny. I find it fascinating how people eat three full meals a day"

Zion.T, who is publicly dating TWICE's Chaeyoung, said that he finds it fascinating when people manage to eat three full meals a day.

On the 26th, a new episode of Kim Nayoung's 'No Filter TV' titled 'Zion.T on No Filter...? A talk full of twists on his favorite things" was posted on Youtube.

Zion.T shared his daily routine, saying, "When I wake up, I have a few tasks piled up. I spend 2-3 hours taking care of those, and then I head out to my studio. If I finish early, I just come back home."

Zion.T also mentioned that he works as the CEO of his own label, Standard Friends, saying, "I run a company. When my staff are in, I stay at the office. When they're not, I just go home. My schedule is pretty flexible."

When asked how many meals he eats a day, Zion.T answered, "Usually two. I eat one meal properly and the other meal is like half to one full meal." He added, "I find it fascinating how people eat three full meals a day. How do they eat three full meals?" Hearing this, Kim Nayoung cautioned, "You should be careful saying that. Some people might be offended," to which Zion.T replied, "I get judged a lot for my body too. People say I'm too skinny. So I think I'm allowed to say that."

Zion.T also shared his secret to not gaining weight. He simply said, "You just need to have a high metabolism."

Meanwhile, Zion.T is currently in a public relationship with a girl group member. He confirmed he was dating TWICE's Chaeyoung in April last year. The two of them have an age gap of 10 years. It is reported that they started dating after being introduced by a mutual friend.

-Are they still dating???

-Wow, I just found out they’re dating.

-They're dating?? But honestly, I also find three meals hard. Two meals is perfect.

-They’re still together and have been dating for quite a while.

-ㅇ0ㅇ I thought Chaeyoung was dating some tattoo artist.

-Since when have they been dating????????

-You actually have to put effort just to eat three meals a dayㅋㅋㅋ

-I only knew she dated a tattoo artist a while ago. I didn’t know she’s now publicly dating Zion.T.

-But Chaeyoung's ideal type seems to be that... skinny and kind of fragile-looking… He seems like a good match for herㅋㅋ

-Why is everyone so surprised? There were quite a few articles about them, and it’s been a while already.

-Chaeyoung still seems like a baby to me...

Surprisingly, the period when many idol fans leave their fandoms is right after enduring the military hiatus

It is said that many fans leave the fandom during the idol's first comeback after discharge.

After waiting for a longtime, fans naturally expect a good album as a reward. If the album isn't as good as they hoped, they feel disappointed and realize their waiting was not worth it...

theqoo

-I'm a fan of an actor. During his military hiatus, I rewatched his old works while anticipating for his comeback. But after he got discharged, he didn't start a new project right away, making the brea even longer. Now, his first ever drama since his discharge has aired, and his next one is also confirmed. He's been busy appearing everywhere, but my feelings are just... Lukewarm. I think I'm gonna leave the fandom.

-It's probably because people change after they go to the military... During the military hiatus, it's easier since you can hold onto the image you used to love. But when they get discharged and you see their tired eyes, changed face, personality, or attitude... Your feelings cool down.

-My idol came back looking even better after losing weight in the military. He didn't change much else, he came back almost immediately, and poured everything into his comeback activities, but the fandom still dropped sharply. I think the biggest problem is that the fans' feelings cool off during the military hiatus. They wait out of habit, but when their idol finally gets discharged and makes a comeback, they realize their heart isn't the same anymore and leave...

-True. If the comeback song or concept is bad, you just lose interest instantly.

-The quality of the comeback does matter, but sometimes people leave because the idol's face changed.

-Either the idol changed, the fan changed, or both changed. You might deny it at first, but you'll soon realize during your idol's first comeback.

-It's because fans wait through the military service, but they don't make a comeback right away. Or even worse, they don't even show their faceㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-Right, I totally understand what you mean.

-Since idols go to the military in their late 20s, the cute charm is usually gone when they get discharged. At this point, they have to survive purely on their skills, and my bias couldn't do that.

-My idol's post-military comeback will probably be in the second half of next year... I wonder what it's gonna be like...

-It's my first time sending my favorite idol to the military, and since he's getting out soon... I'm scared.

-They should make their first comeback right away. If they make fans wait for another 9 months, fans will be freaking pissed offㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Will we see '30-something' IU and Byun Wooseok in school uniforms again? ... '21st Century Grand Prince's Wife' spotted filming at a school, sparking buzz

IU and Byun Wooseok, who are drawing attention for their pairing in the upcoming drama '21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife,' are sparking buzz for their scenes in school uniform.

Recently, posts from people claiming to have participated in the filming of '21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife' were spread online. An extra shared a photo of the school uniform worn during the filming, drawing a lot of attention. The revealed uniform is a light blue shirt paired with a dark blue vest and skirt, the unique pattern on the tie and vest caught everyone's eyes.

Viewers who saw the photos shared their excitement, saying, "IU and Byun Wooseok would look great in those," and "They cold totally pull off the roles of high school students."

Notably, IU (born in 1993) and Byun Wooseok (born in 1991) are both in their mid-30s, but they both looked perfectly natural in school uniforms in their last projects.

IU had earned high praises for her previous hit Netflix series 'When Life Gives You Tangerines' released in March, where she perfectly played characters from a wide range of ages, from a high school student to a working adult. Byun Wooseok also previously played the role of a high school student in his hit drama last year, 'Lovely Runner.'

In addition, there have been sightings of IU, Byun Wooseok, and Roh Sanghyun filming at a high school for '21st Century Grand Prince's Wife,' which raises expectations even more.

'21st Century Grand Prince's Wife' is a romance drama set in a fictional 21st-century constitutional monarchy in South Korea. It tells the story about Sung Heejoo (IU), a wealthy heiress annoyed by the fact that she's only a 'commoner,' and Grand Prince Lee Wan (Byun Wooseok), the king's son who is sad because he can't have anything. This drama is planned to air in the first half of next year.

NewJeans' Hanni reaches settlement with malicious commenter ... Shows mercy despite insulting comment: "Does crying help?"

NewJeans Hanni has reached a settlement with a malicious commenter.

On the 27th, the Seoul Southern District Court’s 14th Criminal Division dismissed the public prosecution against 'A,' who was charged with defamation for leaving malicious comments toward NewJeans' Hanni.

Last October, A wrote an insulting comment on an article about Hanni, saying things like, "What the hell is she even saying? Is she f***ing crazy? Does crying help? Huh?"

The article in question was about Hanni appearing as a witness at the parliamentary audit for the National Assembly's Environment and Labor Committee, where she shed tears while discussing unfair treatment she experienced at her agency.

Following this, the prosecution sent A to a formal trial rather than a summary indictment. However, it was reported that A reached a settlement with Hanni's side before the verdict was announced.

[+82][-26] You shouldn’t go easy on people like that… It's a habit, they’ll 100% do it again.

[+81][-54] Wow, I thought it was some kind of sexual comment or something really over the line. I didn’t know you could get sued for saying something like that;;

[+63][-41] A lawsuit over just that? Must be nice to have money.

[+54][-15] She is truly the most beautiful person ever. Totally my type.

[+43][-15] Those who say "You can get sued for something like that?" probably don't realize that what they're doing might be malicious.

[+35][-24] Don't bully our Pham Hanni~~

[+34][-31] Hanni... I miss NewJeans' performances.

[+31][-30] They're just doing media play.

[+27][-25] Suing for something that minor?

Kim Soohyun's side asks the late Kim Saeron's family: "Was she the type of person who would talk about sexual things using vulgar language with a man she wasn't even close to?"

Kim Soohyun's side stated a firm position regarding the case involving the late Kim Saeron, saying "The real issue in this case is evidence fabrication. This entire incident is a large-scale fraud crime against the public that destroyed the reputation of an innocent victim."

On the 27th, attorney Go Sangrok as Kim Soohyun's legal representative posted an official statement on his blog, addressing and denying claims made by the late Kim Saeron's family point by point.

Attorney Go said in the post, "The cause of her death was reported to be suicide. Based on what is known, she had married an American man in January this year, with the hope of a better life, but the marriage failed. Furthermore, her pan to open a cafe after returning to South Korea also fell apart. She appears to have fallen into deep despair." He continued, "Boo Jiseok, the lawyer of her family, stated in a press conference that the late Kim Saeron had numerous self-harm attempts that even her family was not fully aware of, which aligns with the facts that we have gathered. Her final attempt at self-harm, which happened after many tries, is what eventually led her to death."

He added that her misfortune began after the late Kim Saeron's DUI incident in 2022, saying, "It has been confirmed by various documents that she was cut off by her family during this period. She no longer expected comfort or support from her family, as her emotional connection with her family was already broken. Furthermore, if the family was not aware that their daughter had repeatedly harmed herself that she was in danger, it can be concluded that the family relationship had truly broken down a long time ago."

He further explained, "According to a testimony from her ex-boyfriend last March, she suffered greatly because of verbal abuse and physical violence from her American husband she married before she died. He also testified that she was most hurt by the indifference of her family, with whom she had essentially cut ties, leading her to feel very hopeless about her situation. According to the ex-boyfriend, on 1 November 2024, just two months before her death, the late Kim Saeron severed a wrist ligament due to self-harm, requiring an emergency surgery. Even though her family was called, no one showed up." The attorney added, "We have already confirmed other evidence that support the fact that similar incidents had been happening for more than two years after the 2022 DUI accident."

Attorney Go also brought up what the 'fake aunt' figure had claimed, saying, "An acquaintance whose name is unknown claimed that the late Kim Saeron tried to harm herself on January 8th of this year, and that she and the family took care of her.' However, that is completely false. The late Kim Saeron was actually in the U.S. Documents show that she was registering her marriage on that very day. Almost 100% of what this person has said so far is a lie," and he pointed out that this person is now completely silent.

Attorney Go pointed out, "The fact that the family didn't know the she got married shows that the family relationship was broken. If they did find out about the marriage (later on), and still lied by saying 'we didn't know that fact,' there is only one reason why." He continued, "They needed to shift the blame for her death away from the family or the husband and onto an innocent man who had nothing to do with it."

Attorney Go then demanded, "Submit all the conversations from the group chat room you mentioned on air to the investigative authorities. If they claim that 'everyone deleted the chat at the same time,' the public will not find it convincing. Even if everyone did delete it, all conversation records can be recovered by using digital forensics on just one participant's cell phone." He then addressed the person claiming to be the late Kim Saeron's aunt, "You said that 'when the late Kim Saeron was in high school, you knew she was dating Kim Soohyun because so many letters came from the military.' If that is true, please show all the other letters to the public or give them all to the police, not just the one letter you showed. If you try to claim you only kept one letter and destroyed all the rest, the public will not find that convincing either."

Attorney Go also asked the late Kim Saeorn's parents, "After hearing the audio recording from the May 7th press conference, the late Kim Saeron's friends reportedly said, 'Shew was not the kind of person who would say such profanity.' So, is the voice in the public audio recording really your daughter's voice? Also, is the daughter you remember someone who would borrow a few hundred dollars at a cafe from a man she just saw again after nearly 10 years, a man who was not even a close friend? And would the daughter you knew answer all his questions and talk about her sexual relationships as a teenager, using vulgar language? Is that truly the real person your daughter was, as you, her parents, remember her?"

Attorney Go emphasized again, "The main issue in this case is 'destroying a person's reputation by faking evidence.' They used false information and manipulated audio files to damage the reputation of an innocent victim." He further defined it as 'an international-scale cybercrime' as this incident has spread to foreign news, damaging trust in the entire Hallyu industry as a whole."

He urged, ""The government must clearly see what this case is really about and thoroughly uncover the truth behind the fake evidence and conspiracy. The people responsible must be punished in a way that matches how widely their actions have spread around the world." He concluded the post by saying, "Now, we cannot protect our good name by staying silent. Do not agree with the false stories they are creating. Please stand with us so that the innocent victim can return to their proper place."

[+1,332][-695] What's truly chilling is the fact that not a single person has apologized to Kim Soohyun for misunderstanding him as a child groomer. All the comments are just people blaming others or refusing to believe itㄷㄷ

[+1,015][-573] When I first saw the news, the story was very shocking, and since the person who died was named as the victim of something that happened when she was a minor, I immediately thought, 'I knew Kim Soohyun was that kind of person.' But after that, when I saw the news and the things they called 'evidence,' it all looked fake and messy, like it had been totally made up. I felt sorry for misunderstanding and leaving comments based on misinformation... I hope the truth comes out and those people who acted like parents but aren’t deserving of the title get exposed.

[+638][-390] Kim Soo hyun is completely the victim here. The people who are still leaving mean comments absolutely deserve to be sued. The attorney is telling them to show all that so-called evidence of him dating her when she was a minor, but they can't show it because it doesn't exist. I hope all of the perpetrators’ disgusting actions are fully exposed through investigation, and that Kim Soohyun returns stronger and shines even brighter.

[+532][-245] The KakaoTalk messages from 2016 and 2018 were all fake evidence (the person in the messages wasn’t Kim Soohyun). Kim Saeron's statement was also fake (the photo they claimed was proof from 2016 was actually from 2020). In conclusion, they did not date when she was underage. Despite this, Garo Sero Research Institute and her family made fake claims using this faked evidence. The police need to conduct a full search and thorough investigation.

[+172][-86] Kim Saeron’s family was manipulated by Garo Sero Research Institute’s strategy. Kim Soohyun must feel wronged. The true villain is Garo Sero Research Institute.
