Breaking News: Passengers of Air Busan plane claims that fire started from overhead compartment

https://n.news.naver.com/article/658/0000095653?sid=102

Was it because of a battery?ㅠㅠ

theqoo

-Huh?? That's crazy... The fire didn't start from outside of the plane?

-Hul... Fires caused by batteries are happening so often these days.

-It must've been a battery, e-cigarette, or a lighter.

-Maybe the battery got damaged because it was placed in the overhead compartment and hit something and then caught fire?

-Wasn't there almost a fire incident on Air Busan flight caused by a battery too?

-Does this mean the passenger who owns the battery is responsible for the fire...?

-We should probably ban power banks from both carry-on and checked luggage...

-Can power banks just suddenly catch fire like that??ㅠㅠ That's really scary. I need to be more careful.

-Aren't power banks supposed to be in the carry-on luggage?? How did it even catch fire?

-The exact cause of the fire in this incident is still unknown. However, there was a similar incident caused by a power bank on an Air Busan flight just a month ago....

-It could've been caused by a power bank.. Or maybe devices with larger battery like laptops or tablets.

-Thank goodness this happened before takeoff.......... It would've been terrifying if it had happened during the flight.

-Power banks are essentials when traveling... What should we do now?ㄷㄷ

-I don't even want to imagine if this had happened during the flight...ㅠ

-Power banks are indeed dangerous...

Late Oh Yoanna's family files lawsuit for 'workplace harassment' ... "We never received an apology"

It has been reported that the family of the late MBC weather caster Oh Yoanna, who passed away last year, has filed a lawsuit against the alleged perpetrators.

According to KBS on the 29th, Oh Yoanna's family submitted a complaint to the court last month, claiming that Oh Yoanna had endured workplace harassment for the past two years. The family presented text messages and phone call records between the late Oh Yoanna and her co-workers as evidence. Some of the text messages reportedly contained statements like, "I wonder if I'm really that bad to deserve hearing such things?" and "Am I doing so poorly that it causes the weather team to be discontinued?"

Her suicide note also reportedly mentioned the names of colleagues with whom she had conflicts, along with statements like, "I was treated as if I was an irresponsible person."

The family stated that despite suffering public verbal abuse and humiliation for two years, the late Oh Yoanna never received any apologies from the perpetrators. "We wish we could go back in time and stop that pain. This lawsuit is filed to prevent such violence and misfortune caused by the abuse of power in the workplace from happening again in the future."

The family also criticized MBC for condoning workplace harassment and demanded the company do a thorough investigation.

In response, MBC claimed that the late Oh Yoanna had never reported the situation to the relevant department or management. However, they stated they would launch an investigation if requested by the family.

MBC explained, "The company takes workplace harassment very seriously. We immediately investigate any reports or complaints filed by any freelancers or on-air talents." Furthermore, MBC requested, "We ask that you refrain from spreading unconfirmed rumors or making baseless accusations. This does not only affect the late (Oh Yoanna)'s reputation but can also create additional victims."

Currently, MBC's Youtube Channel is flooded with hateful comments directed at the watercasters accused of being the perpetrators. Comments on the weather news videos have been filled with thousands of comments such as, "This is the real-life Park Yeonjin situation. So scary," "Why did you bully Oh Yoanna?", "Did you enjoy bullying her?", "You must've felt safe thinking the victim stayed silent. How shameless," "I'm too scared to watch the weather forecast now," and "How can you go on-air with a smile on your face even after killing someone?"

Despite the backlash, the accused individuals have not issued any statements and continue to present the weather news.

Oh Yoanna passed away in September last year. She was a former idol trainee who won the title of 'Suk' in the 2019 Chunhyang Beauty Pageant. In 2021, she became an MBC weathercaster, presenting the weather on weekdays and weekends.

"You were dating someone within the company, huh?" ... Agency CEO who assaulted an underage idol receives suspended sentence

The former CEO of an entertainment agency who assaulted an underage idol with a blunt object has been sentenced to a suspended prison term in the first trial.

The court also ordered A to complete 120 hours of community service.

According to News1 on the 29th, the Seoul Central District Court sentenced the former CEO, A, to one year in prison with a three-year suspension on the 14th. A was charged with aggravated assault, battery, and child abuse.

A, who was the CEO of an entertainment company, was indicted for assaulting a member of an idol group at their dormitory last June. According to reports, A was intoxicated at the time of the incident. The investigation began after the assaulted member filed a police report

A is also accused of assaulting another underage member, B, for allegedly dating the group's manager. A questioned B about the relationship, accusing him of violating company rules. When B denied his accusations, A repeatedly hit him on the thighs and buttocks.

Furthermore, it was revealed that A also assaulted B and the other members of the same group with a metal rod because 'the dorm's bathroom is dirty.'

The court stated, “The defendant repeatedly assaulted a child who had little ability to resist or defend himself, using a hanger rod he had prepared in advance. The level of violence was so severe that not only did the hanger break, it also caused injuries requiring four weeks of treatment."

The judge continued, “The defendant also struck other members with a hanger, targeting their heads, making the assault highly dangerous. Considering the circumstances of the crime, the defendant's criminal conduct is severe."

They added, "However, considering that the defendant has admitted to all the crimes, resigned from his position as CEO, and reached an agreement with some of the victims for 80 million KRW. Additionally, the defendant has no criminal record or history of similar crimes beyond fines, these factors were taken into account when determining the sentence."

“Coach Shin Taeyong, thank you so much” Hundreds of Indonesian fans gathered … Meanwhile the Football Association remained until the end “There was no farewell gift”

Indonesian fans are expressing great regret over parting ways with Coach Shin Taeyong (55). Even just before he left Indonesia, hundreds of supporters were spotted following him.

Indonesian media Bolanet reported on the 27th (Korean time), “Coach Shin has returned to his home country, South Korea,” and “On the evening of the 26th, Coach Shin headed to Korea via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang. Hundreds of supporters gathered to see him off.”

The media continued, “Coach Shin and his coaching staff are all set to leave for their respective activities. One of Coach Shin’s staff members, Yoo Jaehoon, who lives in Bali will also return to Korea.”

The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) unexpectedly dismissed Coach Shin earlier this month. Despite leading Indonesia to its first-ever World Cup third qualification round, Coach Shin was surprisingly dismissed. According to Vietnamese media VN, Coach Shin was also quite surprised by PSSI’s decision. He told Indonesian media, “PSSI announced my dismissal at 9:40 AM. By noon, they announced my successor (Patrick Kluivert). This decision is very unreasonable, but I will accept it.”

It seems like five years of his dedication is going to waste now. Coach Shin took over Indonesia at the end of 2019 and led both the U-23 national team and the senior national team. In the 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup, he led the team to an unexpected fourth-place finish.

Under Coach Shin, the Indonesian senior national team achieved second place in the 2020 AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup and reached the semifinals in the 2022 tournament. Additionally, under his leadership, Indonesia made history by advancing to the round of 16 in the 2023 AFC Qatar Asian Cup.

The decision was made by PSSI President Erick Thohir. According to Indonesian media VOI, Thohir explained that “Indonesian football is aiming for greater heights” as the reason for dismissing Coach Shin and appointing Kluivert.

PSSI remained disrespectful until the end. According to Indonesian media Bolasport, Yoo Jaehoon shared in an interview after meeting with the Minister of Sports, “I received a souvenir from the Minister before leaving for the airport. PSSI didn’t give me any souvenirs.”
