Jennie mentions her apology for smoking indoors in interview with Harper's Bazaar US

(The reason there's a Chinese translation in the post is that it's currently being discussed on Chinese Weibo... Let me know if there's an issue.)

I’ll delete the translation since my English level is only at that standard. I tried to interpret the text as accurately as possible, but there are many opinions that it's mistranslated, so it might be better to refer to the original text.

theqoo

-Rather than smoking indoor, wasn't it more of an issue that she blew the smoke on a staff's face?

-But, looking at the QRTs, it seems like most foreigners think an apology was a bit much... There were people who didn't understand why she apologized. I thought foreigners would agree and think it's bad manners too.

-Looking at the English tweet, there doesn’t seem to be any problem.

-There’s nothing wrong with what was said. What’s the issue?

-It’s not a cultural issue; indoor smoking is problematic because it causes secondhand smoke and can be forced upon others without their consent...

-It’s amazing how women get criticized so harshly even for trivial things.

-Let’s study English more🙏

-Just don’t do it again next time, Jennie. Fighting!

-Her answer was fine. It’s literally saying that if it’s a problem in Korean culture, then apologizing is correct.

-I mean... Look at the original question. Jennie was asked why she apologized, and she explained it's because it's a mistake according to Korean culture, that's why she apologizedㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-Jennie answered well, but people are questioning it as if it’s a problemㅋㅋ

-The interpretation seems a bit off; the original tweet doesn’t seem problematic.

-Why is everyone so worked up about Jennie today?

Amore Mini Lightstick Lip Balm Preview (Red Velvet, NCT, aespa)

theqoo

-Please release versions for other groups too... Please...ㅠ

-Oh, this is quite cute. Even from a non-fan's perspective, it's an item worth buying.

-Wow, aespa's version is so beautiful.

-So cuteㅠㅠㅠㅠㅋㅋㅋ I want to buy it.

-I have to buy it ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

-Even though I’m not a fan, I want to buy it. So cute.

-It seems too obvious that they’re just trying to milk female fans. I seriously dislike this fan merchandise.

ㄴHuh, why suddenly...? Did you misunderstand the post? Lip balms are unisex products, and it’s better to criticize low-quality goods with just logos or random sales. This one is pretty.

-So jealous... I wish my group would get something like this too....

-So cute... If my faves released this kind of merch, I would absolutely buy itㅋㅋㅋ

-Oh, it’s pretty. Should I buy Aespa’s...?

-Please give us SHINee's versionㅠㅠㅠㅠ Please!!!!!

-When can I buy it..? So cuteㅋㅋㅋ

-Imagine carrying it in a transparent pouch keyring... That would be so cute.

-Ah, so cute. I hope they would release my fave's version too. For now, I want Aespa’s.

-I'm so jealous of SM Ent. stans. Even though I’m not a fan, I want to buy it.

-So cute, I wish my fave's company would do something similar.

The trainee who was rumored to be debut in every rookie for the past 3 years

is Girls Planet's participant, Guinn Myah ('06 liner)

She was regularly rumored to be in countless lineups for upcoming girl groups. Every time a girl group is announced to be debuting, she always appears in the speculated lineup.

Some of the lineups she was rumored in included: IVE's member, LE SSERAFIM's member, TripleS' member, NewJeans's member, Mimirose,'s member TOP Media's new girl group member, High Up Ent.'s new girl group member, R U Next contestant, Universe Ticket contestant, I-LAND 2 contestant, Bad Villain's member

Recently, there were even small rumors…^^… that she would be part of MEOVV, and there were also rumors from abroad about her being part of JYP’s next girl group.

But in June, there were talks that she would actually debut in TOP Media’s upcoming girl group.

In August, photos of her at the MV set were leaked.

And now, her interview has officially been posted on the group’s account.

After so many rumors, she's finally debuting 3 years after Girls Planet... Please look forward to ODD YOUTH's Guinn Myah! (Debut date is still unconfirmed!)

theqoo

-What's with that Twitter account's username 'nugupromoter'?ㅋㅋ

-She's debuting under TOP Media...? In the end, she's debuting there...

-TOP Media couldn't even handle the groups they already had, why are they releasing another girl group? That company has only created boy groups before. Well, now that she's debuting... I hope she does well.

-Ah... So the girl group's name is ODD YOUTH?ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I honestly thought she was going to debut with Bad Villain... It's been such a long wait.

-TOP Media??? No...

-Seriously, though... Every time a new girl group debuts, she is rumored to be in the lineup. I knew she wasn't going to debut in Bad Villain, but people were talking like it was already confirmed... I wonder why do they keep doing this?

-Seriously, though... Her name came up in the lineup of every new girl group that was set to debut.

-Her last name, Guinn, is so fascinating.

-I searched, and it turns out she’s been with TOP Media since Girls Planet. She didn’t transfer anywhere else. She stayed there the whole time, so why were there so many rumors?

-I thought her last name was Kwon this whole time, but it's actually Guinn Myah??ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Why TOP Media, though...

-She’s so talented, yet... TOP Media........ ㅠ

-Her last name is really Guinn?? Wow... It's my first time hearing that last name.

-But honestly, every time a new group was announced, her name came up in rumors... Congrats on finally debuting! ㅊㅋㅊㅋ

-It seems like her father is an American. There's no such Korean surname as Guinn.

-Her last name is Guinn...?

-She’s probably half Korean, which is why she has a foreign surname, Guinn.

TEMPEST performed 6 times, YOUNITE 2 times, and TNX 4 times.

From as few as 2 to as many as 6 appearances, it's clear that the participating teams have already been regularly attending KCON...

Even more, ONEUS, CRAVITY, TEMPEST, and JUST B have also performed at MAMA...

The winning team will receive a cash prize of 100 million won and an opportunity to perform at KCON 2025. Road to Kingdom: ACE OF ACE will premiere on September 19 at 9:30 PM.

So, what exactly is the benefit of the KCON performance opportunity?

Are they planning to ban the non-winners from KCON in the future?

I'm curious about what Mnet and the production team are thinking...

theqoo

-They should give them a solo stage at MAMA...

-What? KCON....? I can't believe them. At least give them a stage at MAMA...

-Not even MAMA, but KCON...?

-Back in Road to Kingdom 1, the prize was just a chance to advance to Kingdom. Mnet is still as stingy as ever.

-What’s even the point of KCON...? It’s absurd.

-Considering the program is under Mnet, they should give the winning team a chance to perform at MAMA.

-They're so cheap, trying to make a big deal out of KCON.

-I’m a fan of one of the idols participating, and this is honestly so frustrating. They should give them a reality show or comeback show instead.

-Cash prize of 100 million...ㅋ I bet the production costs for their stages are so much more than thatㅋㅋ After splitting the cash prize with the company and the members, it might barely help cover losses.

-Mnet is such a thug.

-At least give them a chance to perform at MAMA. Why do they keep trying to make a big deal out of KCON?

-So stingy.

BLACKPINK Jennie's reps clarifies, "Ruby is not the official fandom name... She just called it randomly"

by Journalist Kim Yeeun

https://v.daum.net/v/20240919094352890

On the 19th, Jennie released a voice message through her agency’s official channel, where she referred to her fans as "Ruby" and said, "Stay tuned and see you soon."

This led to speculation that Jennie’s official fandom name might be "Ruby." The confusion deepened as singer Kwon Eunbi’s official fandom name is also "Ruby," raising concerns about a potential overlap.

In response, a representative from Jennie’s agency, OA Entertainment, clarified to Xports News, saying, "She was simply referring to her fans informally on a news page sharing updates. It was not an official announcement of a fandom name," stressing that "Ruby" is not Jennie's official fandom name.

theqoo

-Haters, just admit that you're using this an excuse to hate on Jennie...

-Her company is handling this matter very poorly

-It's a relief that she's gonna change it

-Just admit that she didn't know about it and is going to change it. It seems like people make explanations and excuses more than apologies.

-What's your problem, guys?ㅋㅋㅋㅋ She already said she won't use it as her official fandom name...

-Even after she said it's not her official fandom name, people are still throwing bullshit on her. People seem to be angry a lot these days.

-She should've just apologized...

-Goodㅋㅋㅋ The company responded very quickly, I don't think we need to worry anymore. It doesn't seem like they're going to make the same mistake again anyway.

-Even after this clarification, people are still throwing bullshit on her. It seems like people are just mad because she's Jennieㅋ

-She said it's not her official fandom name, why do you guys keep whining...? Why is everyone so angry...?

-I can completely understand if some people find this uncomfortable~ It's a relief that she clarified that she won't be using this as her official fandom name~

-She clarified it already... Why are people still angry?ㅋㅋㅋ
