First of all, we sincerely apologize for causing concern to 'Good Day' viewers. The production team acknowledges the severity of the controversy surrounding a cast member and is continuing production while prioritizing viewer reactions.
'Good Day' is a pre-recorded show that is usually completed 1-2 weeks before airing due to translation procedures required for overseas broadcasts. Episode 5, which aired yesterday, was a version that was urgently edited and re-delivered immediately after the controversy grew, through consultation between MBC and global OTT platforms. Kim Soohyun's segment was removed from the translated version that was already in progress. For this reason, episode 5 was approximately 10 minutes shorter than previous episodes and lacked some details.
Regarding the recording that took place on March 13th, the 'Good Day' digital track recording was postponed because the production team initially awaited an official statement from Kim Soohyun's agency regarding the controversy. However, as his agency planned to release their statement the following week (as of March 13), it would be difficult to secure other cast members' schedules after that day, so we had no choice but to proceed. After careful discussion, the production team proceeded with the recording and sketch filming with careful consideration to minimize overlap with other cast members, keeping in mind the possibility of editing out certain portions. We sincerely apologize for any concerns this may have caused viewers.
We believe that as long as the controversy related to this cast member persists, the purpose of 'Good Day' which started with good intentions, the sincerity of the cast members, and the love of viewers who sympathized and supported us, may be damaged. The 'Good Day General Assembly' segment, which was first filmed on February 18, is set to unfold over episodes 6 and 7. However, the production team has decided to edit out Kim Soohyun's footage as much as possible. Additionally, the individual recording session of each cast member on March 13th will not be aired.
We will do our best to make the remaining broadcasts enjoyable for viewers while remaining attentive to the hearts of the cast members. We're committed to making 'Good Day' a program that brings good times to good people.
