Kep1er's Kim Chaehyun clarified that she personally chose the ballet outfit she wore for a content after concerns were raised about its revealing design.
On the 2nd, an original content featuring members Choi Yujin, Kim Chaehyun, and Xiaoting learning ballet was posted to Kep1er's official Youtube channel.
Their ballet experience concluded smoothly. However, Kim Chaehyun's outfit had a deeper neckline compared to the other members, leading some fans to express concern and sparking controversy.
As various opinions circulated among fans and criticism extended toward the staff who prepared the outfit, Kim Chaehyun stepped forward to personally explain the situation through a fan communication platform.
She stated, "I chose that outfit myself," clarifying that it was her own choice. She added that she wanted to wear a pink outfit rather than something dull, saying, "I thought you guys would like it because it was pretty, so I was all smiles. I didn't expect this reaction," showing her surprise.
She continued, "I'll coordinate better next time. Please don't be mad," comforting the fans with a playful tone.
Meanwhile, Kep1er is a project group formed through the Mnet audition program 'Girls Planet 999.'
After debuting in 2022, they became the first Mnet project group to successfully renew their contracts, reorganizing from nine members to seven in 2024. They are currently promoting as a six-member group and released their 8th mini-album 'CRACK CODE' on March 31.
