Actor Nam Dareum, who has completed military service, still has his mom managing his Instagram

Nam Dareum started his career and worked as a child actor in major projects.

He is currently 24 years old (born in 2002) and has completed his mandatory military service.

However, his mother still manages his Instagram account.

While it's common for child actors to have their parents manage their social media accounts, they usually take over the account or create a new one once they become adults.

This is quite unusual, and maybe because of that, he still hasn't secured a proper adult role and is still appearing as Song Joongki's younger version in 2025.

Update:

That account is linked on his Naver profile, which means that it's his 'official' account. It's not his personal account. The entire feed only features professional photos of him.

-Whether it's managed by his agency or his mother... Are there any rules that state he has to manage his Instagram account himself?

-He probably has a private account though.

-In an era where self-promotion through social media is very important, being known as 'the actor whose mother still manages his account' even after completing military service might make it harder for him to shake off his child-actor image.

-Honestly, it does affect his image a bit. It would be fine if the account was managed by his company... But for a 24 year old who has completed military service and yet still has his mom manage his Instagram account is just... not right.

-Why are people making this a big deal? To me, it just looks like he has a good relationship with his mom.

-Does he not have an agency? Or is it a one-person agency with his mom as his manager?

-It looks like a fan account run by his mom… I think it's one of the reason why he gives off 'Mama Boy' vibesㅠ

-Since it's managed by his own mother, it shows a lot of affection in the posts. But honestly, it might be better for his image to create a separate official account... This somehow makes it harder for him to shake off his child-actor image.

-I think the reason he can't shake off the child-actor image might be because of his height.

-It's probably better than having an social media scandal.

-Does he not have an agency yet?

-What does it matter?

-Honestly, it might be better for him not to have an account at all than having one run by his mom.

-To me, it just seems like someone who has zero interest in Instagram. But people seem to see it as him being a 'Mama Boy'...

-He’s a great actor, I don’t get why this is even an issue.
