ADOR has not given up on NewJeans. Amid the ongoing exclusive contract dispute with NewJeans, ADOR has announced that they are taking legal action against malicious commenters.
On the 27th, ADOR posted a notice on the official fan community platform 'Weverse,' stating, "We are taking regular legal action against individuals who have posted malicious comments, defamation, insults, sexual harassment, malicious slander, and the use of derogatory terms against NewJeans. We will provide an update on the progress of these actions."
They continued, "As a result of previous legal actions, legal punishments have been carried out for several criminal acts. The Supreme Court has finalized a fine of millions of won for an individual who spread and sold fake pornographic pictures using the artist's faces. Several defendants who posted highly offensive comments have been sentenced to fines."
ADOR emphasized, Ador emphasized, "In the process of legal action regarding the infringement of the artists' rights, we are responding strictly with a zero-tolerance policy, and we will continue to monitor all domestic and international channels in real time, gathering evidence and taking strong legal action to hold them accountable even if it takes time."
Meanwhile, on the 28th of last month, NewJeans held an emergency press conference in which all members stated that ADOR, as their agency, lacked the ability and will to fulfill their most important responsibility which is 'protecting NewJeans.' They claimed that the exclusive contract was terminated due to ADOR's fault.
Although NewJeans declared to 'be independent' without waiting for legal judgment, ADOR has filed a lawsuit to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract.
Despite this, NewJeans has opened a personal channel called "Jeanzforfree" without prior consultation with their agency.
