Kim Seonho, like Cha Eunwoo, received payments through a company

On the 3rd, it was confirmed that Kim Seonho received payments for his entertainment activities through 'SH2,' a one-person company he started in January 2024, while still under his previous agency.

The reason Kim Seonho went so far to create a company to receive payments is being described as 'tax laundering.' If the income were recorded under Kim Seonho as an individual, an income tax rate of up to 49.5% would apply. However, if it was treated as the company's income, he would benefit from a corporate tax of up to 19%.

An official from his previous agency stated, "We simply just transferred the payment into the account he asked for."

This is considered as a clear act of tax avoidance, not tax saving, by taking advantages of differences in tax rates. Since the company's registered address is the same as Kim Seonho's residence, it is suspected to be a 'paper company.' Therefore, there is a high chance that all the money received through this company will be seen as 'diverted income.'

Lawyer Noh Jong-eon from Law Firm Jonjae stated, "Looking at the cases of Cha Eunwoo and Kim Seonho, moving income through unregistered companies is a key factor that undermines transparent tax management. It's time for relevant authorities to do thorough investigations and strict oversight in order to stop tax evasion that exploits these legal loopholes."

The explanation provided by his agency, Fantagio, also ended up backfiring him.

On the 1st, Fantagio responded to the tax evasion allegations surrounding Kim Seonho, saying, "The former one-person company was established for theater production and related activities. It was absolutely not established with the intention of reducing or evading tax deliberately."

Kim Seonho also failed to complete the mandatory registration as 'Popular Culture and Arts Planning Business.' Receiving payments (management revenue) without being registered constitutes a violation of the 'Popular Culture and Arts Industry Development Act' and may result in imprisonment of up to 2 years.

Lawyer Noh added, "Looking at Cha Eunwoo and Kim Seonho's cases, it's becoming clear that their failure to register as a 'Popular Culture and Arts Planning Business' is more than just a simple administrative mistake. It is being used by high-income celebrities as a way to avoid taxes."

Regarding this, Fantagio stated, "It is true that he temporarily received payments (from his previous agency) after the company was established."

Kim Seonho's former agency: "We just transferred money to the place he asked for"

It has been confirmed that Kim Seonho received payments for his entertainment activities through a one-person company he established in January 2024 during his time with his previous agency.

Kim Seonho is reported to have received the money under that company's name instead of his own name. If he took the money as personal income, an income tax rate of up to 49.5% would apply. However, by taking it as the company's income, the maximum corporate tax rate of 19% would apply, which significantly reduce the tax burden.

The former agency told TV Daily, "We just transferred money to the place he asked for."

However, suspicions have been raised that the company might be a 'paper company' with no real business activities because it's registered address is the same as Kim Seonho's residence. In such a case, receiving payments through the company could be seen as a way to avoid personal taxes.

Additionally, it has been confirmed that Kim Seonho did not register his company as 'Popular Culture and Arts Planning Business,' which is required by law to receive management-related payments. Receiving management-related payments without this registration may constitute a violation of the law and could lead to criminal punishment.

"If there's no problem, why shut it down?" Kim Seonho remains silent regarding parents' salaries and using corporate card for personal use ... "Explanation that misses the point"

As Kim Seonho became embroiled in controversy over allegations of operating a family company to avoid taxes, his agency responded by saying, "The company wasn't established for tax evasion." However, critics point out that the explanation is missing the point, as the agency remained silent on the most important details, including paying salaries to his parents and using the company credit card for personal use.

On the 1st, Kim Seonho's agency, Fantagio, stated, "Kim Seonho is currently active under an exclusive contract with Fantagio. He is faithfully following all legal and tax-related procedures for his current contract and activities. There are absolutely no problems with the contract or activities between Kim Seonho and Fantagio."

The agency emphasized, "The former one-person company mentioned in the report was established for theater production and related activities. It was absolutely not established with the intention of deliberately reducing or evading tax."

Earlier that day, a news report claimed that following Fantagio's Cha Eunwoo, Kim Seonho was also suspected of engaging in a tax reduction (tax evasion)' using a family company. According to the report, Kim Seonho started a performance-planning company in January 2024 at the address of his home in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and listed himself as the CEO.

The report further alleged that Kim Seonho's parents served as the director and auditor of the company. He was suspected of paying them salaries ranging from millions to tens of million of KRW and used the company's credit card for living expenses and entertainment. This led to criticism that the company may be a 'paper company' with no actual business activity.

Regarding the company, Fantagio stated, "Since Kim Seonho moved to Fantagio, the company has not done any business activities for about a year. The company is being closed down according to the law and regulations. We will continue to follow all laws and do our best to make sure his work continues without unnecessary misunderstandings."

However, netizens are showing a cold reaction, saying, "If there's no problem, why shut the business down?" "There's no explanation about his parents' salaries or using the company's credit card for entertainment spending," and "Is this a second Cha Eunwoo case?" Previously, Cha Eunwoo also faced criticism for not giving a clear explanation about why his company address was registered at his parents' eel restaurant in Ganghwa.

Meanwhile, Kim Seonho took time off in 2021 following a controversy regarding his personal life. He returned to activities in 2023 with the movie 'The Childe.' He recently made a successful comeback by topping Netflix's global rankings with 'Can This Love Be Translated?,' but this new 'family company' controversy is putting his career in danger once again.

Park Kyunghye became emotional as she recalled the results of her close friend Hyeri's psychological consultation.

On the 30th, a video titled 'An NF who finally breaks into tears and an ST watching her' was uploaded to Hyeri's Youtube channel.

In the video, the two close friends took time to compare their results from the TCI test.

Park Kyunghye mentioned Hyeri's TCI test video, saying, "I cried so much after watching your video," adding, "Even talking about it now makes me feel like I'm going to cry," as she became visibly emotional.

Park Kyunghye continued, "I've been seeing, well maybe not everything but pretty much, Hyeri struggling and not being able to rest much lately." She shared, "It hurt my heart because her condition was reflected exactly in the test results."

She went on, "I kept thinking about how you lie on the living room floor exhausted and how you take medication when you get home, then head out again in a half-conscious, dazed state," trailing off as she struggled to continue her sentences.

When Park Kyunghye said, "Hyeri isn't the type of person who easily talks about her inner feelings with just anyone," Hyeri joked, "I talk about it a lot. She's just not listening," making everyone laugh.

Park Kyunghye also shared, "Hyeri tend to express her feelings very simply in short words like, 'I'm tired,' 'I'm exhausted,' 'I'm sleepy,' or 'I'm hungry.'"

She added, "But during the test, she ended up opening about those feelings in detail." She continued, "It felt like she was being comforted just by telling her story, so I ended up crying along while watching the video."

Meanwhile, in the previous video, Hyeri had a consultation with psychiatrist Lee Kwangmin to discuss her TCI results. At the time, Hyeri cried and said, "Naturally, I like people and gain energy from them, but I'm in a state where I can't rely on them."

'Cha Eunwoo could win the 20 billion KRW lawsuit against the National Tax Service' ... Major law firms show high win rates for these cases

Cha Eunwoo, who is facing allegations of tax evasion amounting to 20 billion KRW, has hired one of South Korea's top three law firms, Sejong. As he prepares to take on the National Tax Service, some legal experts suggest that Cha Eunwoo may have a chance of winning if the case goes to court.

On the 28th, Roel Law Firm posted a video titled 'Why the Investigation Bureau 4 of the National Tax Service is involved in Cha Eunwoo's 20 billion KRW tax evasion allegations and why it's a big deal' on their official Youtube channel.

In the video, lawyer Lee Taeho explained, "There are cases where the National Tax Service interprets the law in a way that favors the government and charges taxes too aggressively. They often charge heavy additional taxes first, then fight it out later in court."

He continued, "Recently, there have been many cases where major aw firms have won lawsuits against the National Tax Service," then adding, "We can't rule out that the possibility that the National Tax Service was being too harsh, so we have to wait and see the final result."

However, regardless of the outcome, he expressed concern over the potential damage to Cha Eunwoo's public image.

The lawyer stated, "Most celebrities agree to pay a certain amount to the National Tax Service to finish the matter quickly. I wonder if the National Tax Service him imposed the additional tax because he refused to sign agreement." He predicted, "Even if he wins the tax lawsuit later, the public will only remember that he was accused of tax evasion. This will remain an issue even after he finishes his military service."

Previously, the National Tax Service notified Cha Eunwoo of additional income tax exceeding 20 billion KRW after determining that his income structure was abnormal. Currently, the National Tax Service is examining the service contracts and profit-sharing process between Company A that was established by Cha Eunwoo's mother and Fantagio. In particular, the National Tax Service suspects that Company A is a 'paper company' with no real business activities.

As the controversy grew, Cha Eunwoo released an official statement on the 26th, saying, "I sincerely apologize for causing concern and disappointment over the recent matters related to me. As a citizen of South Korea, I am deeply reflecting on whether I was responsible enough with my duty to pay taxes."
