A contestant on SBS' 'Match to Marry' is being accused of having an affair with a married man. While she announced plans for legal action, attention is now focused on whether SBS might sue her for damages or not.

On a recent broadcast of JTBC's 'Crime Chief,' an informant claimed hat a woman who had an affair with her ex-husband is now starring in a dating show. That show was later identified as SBS' 'Match to Marry.'

Kim Taein, the woman that is named as the person of the affair allegations, posted on her social media on January 22, saying, "As incorrect information continues to spread and people are attacking me and my mother excessively, I'm releasing this statement after much deliberation."

Kim Taein claimed that the reports broadcasted by 'Crime Chief' were 'distorted and exaggerated.' She warned, "As excessive criticism continues and it's harming me and my mother mentally, my legal team will take action if hateful comments are not voluntarily deleted."

The production team of 'Match to Marry' stated, "To make sure viewers can watch the show comfortably, we have decided to completely remove her scenes from the remaining episodes." In the recent episodes, Kim Taein was almost entirely edited out and only appeared in wide shots.

In particular, the production team explained that they conducted pre-interview questionnaires and interviews while casting participants to make sure that there were no issues in the contestants' past or present backgrounds. They also noted that the consent form explicitly required contestants to state and guarantee that they hadn't been involved in crimes, drugs, adultery, school violence and similar matters. The contract also states that they have to pay penalties in the event of violations. As a result, the production team is now reportedly considering a lawsuit against Kim Taein.

'5 years in prison?' Can Cha Eunwoo escape the '20 billion KRW tax evasion allegations?' ... What are the key issues?

As Cha Eunwoo faces allegations of tax evasion totaling up to 20 billion KRW, attention is now shifting toward the potential severity of legal punishment. While the National Tax Service views this case as using a paper company to avoid tax, Cha Eunwoo's side firmly pushes back, stating that its management was conducted through lawful procedures.

Cha Eunwoo’s suspicious income structure

Last year, Cha Eunwoo underwent a tax audit by Investigation Division of the Seoul Regional Tax Office. Recently, he was ordered to pay around 20 billion KRW in additional taxes, including income tax.

The National Tax Service is taking issue with Cha Eunwoo's income structure. The company established by his mother, Company A, entered into a service contract with his agency to distribute profits. However, the National Tax Services judged Company A is a 'paper company' with no actual business operations. The allegation is that income that should've been taxed at the individual rate of 45% was instead directed into a company to avoid higher tax bill.

Denying: "It's a legitimate management done amid an unstable environment"

Regarding this, Company A stated, "With the agency's CEO constantly changing, (Cha Eunwoo's) mother personally stepped into the management to stabilize his entertainment activities. Company A is legally registered as a pop culture and arts planning business."

Fantagio also stated, "The main issue of this investigation is whether Company A should be taxed as a real business. As this matter hasn't yet been settled, we will actively explain our position through lawful procedures regarding the interpretation and application of the law."

Possibility of heavy sentence if the Aggravated Punishment Act applies .. The key is the burden of proof

Legal experts are paying close attention to the possible application of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes because the unpaid tax amount reaches around 20 billion KRW. Under this law, if the amount of tax evaded is 1 billion KRW, the penalty can be life imprisonment or a prison sentence of 5 years or more.

In the end, the severity of punishment will depend on whether Company A truly did the work of a management company or not. If they fail to present evidence of real business activities such as contracts, work logs, payroll records, or office lease agreements, it will be difficult to shake off allegations of tax evasion.

As Cha Eunwoo has been widely loved for his 'upright and clean' image, both the entertainment and legal industry are watching closely to see how he handles and overcomes this 'tax evasion risk.'

Stefanie Michova, a model and the wife of rapper Beenzino, has opened up about her postpartum depression and her journey through treatment.

On the 22nd, a video was uploaded to the YouTube showing Lee Jihye visiting Beenzino and Stefanie Michova at their home in Seongbuk-dong.

In the video, they naturally shared stories about childbirth and parenting, which led into a conversation about postpartum depression.

During the episode, Lee Jihye mentioned Michova’s previous confession, saying, "It broke my heart to see you crying while talking about postpartum depression in the previous video." Michova responded honestly, saying, "The major changes that happen during the newborn stage were truly difficult. It wasn’t easy losing my old self and finding a new version of myself."

She continued, "I thought I was going crazy. I kept wondering, ‘Am I the only one having such a hard time?’ At the time, I missed my mother so much that I cried every day." She also talked about the deep sense of loneliness she felt while giving birth and raising a child in a foreign country, saying, "I missed my mom, my family, and even German food. When things get hard, you end up missing the things you love even more."

Michova eventually went to the hospital and said, "I went to a psychiatrist and asked, 'Is it supposed to be this hard?' and they told me it was postpartum depression." She emphasized, "Going to the hospital isn’t something to be ashamed of. I believe asking for help when you need it makes you stronger." She added, "I've felt much better after starting treatment."

Listening to this, Lee Jihye offered words of comfort, saying, "It gets a little better once the baby turns one. The fact that you gave birth and are raising a child while living away from your family to be with the person you love is truly an incredible thing."

Meanwhile, Stefanie Michova married Beenzino in 2022 and became a mother after giving birth to their son, Rubin, in November 2024.

'20 billion KRW tax evasion allegations' Cha Eunwoo ... Suspicious address changes suggest deceptive tactics

SOURCE: [단독]'200억 탈세 의혹' 차은우, 꼼수 의심 수상한 주소 이전(종합)

While Cha Eunwoo is facing allegations of 20 billion KRW in tax evasion, he has failed to provide clear explanations regarding suspicious changes to the registered business addresses.

According to an investigation of the Pop Culture and Arts Information System on the 23rd, the management company established by Cha Eunwoo’s mother, 'Cha's Gallery,' was registered on June 15, 2022. However, the address was not in Ganghwa as previously known, but rather a building with 7 floors above ground and 2 underground levels located in Tongjin-eup, Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province.

The company later moved its registered address from Gimpo to Ganghwa-gun, Incheon. While its standard industrial classification is listed as 'management business,' the listed address in Ganghwa Island, is actually an eel restaurant that Cha Eunwoo's parents had operated for a long period until August of last year. This restaurant closed in August and relocated to Gangnam, Seoul. This means the eel restaurant had served as the registered address for Cha Eunwoo’s one-man agency. In September 2024, the company also changed its status from a joint-stock company to a limited liability company and changed its name.

Despite more evidence are surfacing, Cha Eunwoo’s agency has been unable to confirm any specific details. The agency says it is difficult to confirm matters with Cha Eunwoo because he is currently serving in the military, and that it is also difficult to confirm them with his mother.

'Sexually assault my girlfriend' ... The two faces of a famous shopping mall CEO

At 5 AM in the dead of winter, B woke up in terror to the sudden sound of someone entering her door lock code. The man who entered was a total stranger. He said he had come because B's boyfriend asked him, "Please sexually assault my girlfriend."

On January 23, 2024, the mask was stripped off A, a man in his 30s who was once a successful clothing mall CEO. The case, revealed through the media, shook the nation because A was a public figure who had frequently made appearances on various TV broadcasts.

According to legal circles, A was sent to trial on charges of illegally filming, producing, and distributing sexual exploitation videos around 200 times against 10 women, including minors aged 15 and 17, starting from June 2021.

Among the victims was his own ex-girlfriend, B. In an interview with JTBC, B began by saying, “Six months into the relationship, A started showing sadistic behavior, and it gradually became more intense.” She added, “He would whip me, strangle me, or slap me. He would grab my hair and throw me onto the bed, then assault me while handcuffing or gagging me. He even stroked my body with a knife."

Even Christmas, a time that should have been sweet for a couple, turned into a nightmare. B confessed, “A suddenly said he wanted to film a video and asked, ‘How about a video where you get XX while naked in the closet?’ I almost lost my eyesight because he hit me in the wrong place.”

According to B, there were also other women involved in A’s crimes. B said, “He forced both of us to lie face down, then he numbered our buttocks: ‘Slave #1,’ ‘Slave #2,’ like that. I was Slave #2.” She added, “I had no choice, because if I refused, the verbal abuse and assault would continue…” and could not continue speaking.

B even revealed that she was sexually assaulted by a stranger sent by A. She said, “Around 5 AM on a winter morning, a man I didn’t know entered after entering the door lock code,” and added, “While I was in a state of extreme shock, he suddenly stripped me and assaulted me. He said he did that because A requested, "Please sexually assault my girlfriend.""

A, who continued these bizarre crimes, was eventually arrested in September 2021 after the victims reported him. Authorities identified about 10 victims, including girlfriend B and two minors.

Ultimately, A was detained on charges of filming, producing, and distributing sexual exploitation videos over 200 times involving the 10 victims.

In July 2022, A was sentenced to 5 years in prison in the first trial. The charges included 6 charges in total, including violations of laws protecting minors and sexual violence.

Six months later, his sentence was reduced to 4 years. The court ruled, "A has no prior criminal record for sexual offenses. He has admitted to all crimes and is showing remorse." The court also noted that he reached settlements with some of the victims.

During this process, A went to great lengths to get his sentences reduced. He even went as far as hiring private investigators to track down victims for settlements.

It was confirmed that A sent a letter to one of the victims saying, “I am formally submitting a letter of reflection. The possibility of a suspended sentence is steadily increasing.”

In addition, A’s parents even hired a private investigator to track down one of the underage victims. Their goal was to obtain a settlement and a petition stating the victim wants to drop the charges.

The victims are currently struggling to rebuild their lives, moving homes and receiving psychiatric treatment. They expressed fear, saying, "Sometimes I have nightmares about him coming out of the detention."

According to his sentence, A will be released in 2027, which is just around the corner.

Meanwhile, A's parents who had to close the daycare center they operated due to this case, fueled public outrage during an interview. Regarding the exploitation videos of the victims that still circulate on the internet, they told reporters, "Isn't he being punished for everything now? I don't know about that. Just leave. If the videos remain online, let them remain. How would I know?"

Parents of a school bully react to a report of school violence: "We'll sue back and send our kid abroad"

SOURCE: 중학생 집단폭행 신고했더니…가해자 부모 "맞고소하고 유학간다"

A report was shared today through JTBC's 'Crime Chief' about a middle school student who was dragged around brutally assaulted by a group of peers.

According to the informant, this incident occurred last August during school vacation. Their son returned home with injuries to his knees and elbows. Initially, he claimed that he 'fell while riding a scooter.'

However, the informant later learned through a school counselor that their son had been assaulted by his peers and was being extorted for money.

The informant recently stated that they have obtained a video footage showing what happened at the time.

The video shows the perpetrators singing while beating the victim. It also shows them assaulting the victim based on the results of rock-paper-scissors.

The informant told 'Crime Chief', "One perpetrator hit my son because his name was in my son's phone. Another one hit him for using his phone once. There was absolutely no reason for the violence."

The violence did not stop at a single location.

According to the informant, their son was dragged to several places, including a nearby supermarket, on the street, and to one of the perpetrator's house, where he continued to be beaten.

The informant said, "The perpetrators took him to other locations, saying, 'If we send him home with a swollen face, we'll get caught.'"

The son claimed that he was beaten even while being dragged around. He recalled being hit more than 50 times and was dragged to multiple locations for about 3 hours.

During this process, the perpetrators also demanded money.

The informant stated, "They said they would let him go if he gave them money, and they continued to contact him afterward to demand more. Even when he said he only had 5,000 KRW, they told him to send even that."

After learning of the assault, the informant reported the case to the police and the School Violence Committee, but said they were deeply hurt by the reactions of the perpetrators' parents.

One of the perpetrators' parent reportedly said, "We're going to sue as well. Our kid is going to study abroad anyway."

As a result of the School Violence Committee's decision, the perpetrators received 5 days of suspension, 4 hours of community service, and were ordered to provide a written apology.

However, the informant said, "My son told me that opening a committee hearing doesn't really do anything," and added that his sense of injustice remains unsolved.

The informant is currently pursuing criminal charges and a civil lawsuit against the perpetrators, saying, "I hope my son's resentment and injustice can be relieved, even a little."
