It's been a while since I went to a fan signing event, so I did some research on what people do at these events these days. Coincidentally, my birthday was a week away. I wanted to try asking a question fans often ask idols at fan signing events: "If you were to give me perfume as a gift, what scent do you think would suit me?" At that moment, he suddenly called his manager! That's when I sensed something was off... He asked his manager to bring out the perfume he was using, then said, "This is a gift for you, Noona. Take it." I was flustered because that's not what I meant to happen... But form then it turned into a "No~~" and "Take it~~" battle. He said, "I wore this perfume when I filmed 'Genie, Make a Wish."
I also asked him to sign the photocard that I brought. While explaining to him that it was just a picture of him but in a Ghibli style, he insisted it wasn't him, so I emphasized, "This is you!"
In the end, I explained,"I was just going to buy and use whatever perfume you recommended." But he gave me more explanation, saying that he thought it would suit me. Woobin-ah, thank you. Lastly, he even told me to enjoy my dinner.
He gave the fan his perfume right on the spot.
Along with my review of today's fan signing event, can I cautiously share a heartwarming story about him?🫣 I've been a fan of Woobin for over 10 years. I have a lot of touching stories about him, but today's was too much for me to hold them in!! At fansigns, I always ramble because I can't think of anything to say. Woobin asked me why I'm always so nervous, even though I often see himㅠ
When I ran out of things to say, I started bragging, "Guess what I'm eating today!" I bragged about how my fellow Woobin fans and I used the money we saved up in a group account to book an expensive teppanyaki restaurant. I even said, "Woobin-ah, we're eating with the money we saved for u, so you should come join us too!!"ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ He laughed and praised me. He said it sounded delicious and that he was so jealous to hear that.
Another Unnie also bragged about eating something delicious that night, so Woobin ended up finding out the restaurant's name. The restaurant's name is kinda funny. This isn't an ad, but it's called Gwangmyeong New York New York Teppanyaki. It's really good♡ The chef is just like... a hidden master. Anyway, after the fan signing, we chatted then went to the restaurant for our reservation.
The chef came out and said, "Kim Woobin-nim came by earlier and already paid for your meal" What...?? I'm sorry, what???? He came by????? Why would Kim Woobin do that??? And the chef said, "Yes, he came in person and paid. He even tried to order wine, but he didn't know what you'd want to drink. So he left his manager's business card and said he would transfer the remaining once you were done."
He continued, "Do celebrities usually come in person to pay like this? I was just as shocked as you are... He's really tall and... So handsome!! He didn't just pay for the course you originally reserved, he paid for the most expensive course." Ah... From that moment, I was so touched I nearly cried(I didn't literally cry, but inside, I did😭)
Can you believe we ate lobster and steak mixed with tears...? Honestly, I don't even know how I stayed sane while eating, but I devoured every bite of the mealㅠ I'm on a diet and it's completely ruined now, but at least I became a happy pig! I've received so much warmth from Woobn over the years, but a surprise like this don't happen so often. So after a lot of consideration, I'm sharing this😭
Just in case you're thinking, "Why only those fans?"... We were just lucky by chance today. But as you all know, Woobin always treats every fans sincerely. He even found out where the fans were eating, went there himself, and paid for the meal. Since wine is a matter of personal taste, he didn't choose one and said he would pay for it later.
