Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister for Economy and Minister of Economy and Finance, Choi Sangmok, stated during a meeting of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters, "The government has decided to designate the next seven days, from today to January 4 at 24:00, as a national mourning period. We will set up memorial altars at the Muan Airport accident site and in 17 cities and provinces to express condolences and mourn the victims."
