Russia is introducing a bill to ban media content that glamorizes childfree lifestyles as an effort to raise their declining birth rate. Popular South Korean shows like 'I Live Alone' and 'My Golden Kids' are expected to fall under this restriction.

The bill was proposed back in September, supported by Kremlin, and is expected to be signed by President Putin after receiving approval from the Federal Assembly.

The bill bans all form of medias that portray childfree lifestyles as attractive, including online platforms, movies, and advertisements. Violating this ban will result in fines up to $4,000 (~5.6 M KRW) for individuals and up to $50,000 (~70 M KRW) for organizations.

The spokesperson of Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov, stressed, "We must do everything to increase birth rates. Anything that interferes with it must disappear."

Russia is facing a serious low birth rate issue and is pursuing various policies to address it. On the same day, the State Duma also approved a bill that prohibits citizens from countries where gender transition is legal from adopting Russian children.
