They have tried so many ideas, so here I am making a compilation post of SM Ent.'s first tries

1. H.O.T

The first idols of 10s. They were one of the first idols in history. Their songs often represent how teenagers their age feel, portray about social problems, etc. One of the first SMP (SM Ent. Performance)

2. SES

They debuted with a youthful and innocent image. They effortlessly capture boys' hearts and brought a new color to the industry.

3. Shinhwa

One of the first Beast-dol. The first idol group to release semi-nude pictures..

4. DBSK

They debuted under the name of DBSK, which means The Rising of East Gods. 

This time, SM Ent. tried out a new and fresh idea which is inserting a unique characteristic in the members' names such as Hero Jaejoong, UKnow Yunho, Micky Yoochun, Xiah Junsu, Max Changmin, etc. 

They are also the first idol to debut with Acapella Group concept.

Not to mention that they're perfect in terms of visual, physical, talent, and skillㅇㅇ

5. Super Junior

The first idol to debut with a large number of members. 

They're also the first group to try out the sub-unit system (Super Junior K.R.Y)

6. SNSD

The birth of the legendary girl group with we-don't-know-what-kind-of-concept-you-like-so-we-try-it-all concept

They're also the first idol group to release 'photo cards'

7. SHINee

The first idol which stimulates motherly-love from fans with their skinny figures. 

There were strangers rumors about SM Ent. giving them appetite suppressant back then..

8. F(x)

SM Ent. attempted to debut siblings under their company (Jessica's sister: Krystal)

They also tried out debuting a boyish member (Amber) which was a new and fresh idea

9. EXO

EXO-K and EXO-M's targets are Korean and Chinese audiences. Sometimes they promote separately, and some other times together. It was a really fresh and fascinating idea. 

10. Red Velvet

SM Ent. attempted to use two-tone hair color so that audiences could tell apart and memorize the members easily, it was a very smart move. 

Red Velvet also uses two different concepts in each comeback, Red and Velvet.

11. NCT

SM Ent. attempted a Neo concept for the first time, which is an unlimited system. 

There is no exact number of members, the group actively promotes with various units. 

Now that I look at it, SM Ent. really has tried a lot of conceptsㅎㅎ

Fans always ask Woolim to let the girl comes back during a less intense period of time, but they never listen. I'm so sad that they're not getting the popularity they deserve. They have a huge fandom, but their public recognition is not as big as the fandom. They're underrated.

I live near NCT's Dorms and let me tell you about their sasaengs...

They have a lot of sasaengs, it's no joke

Every time I pass where NCT lives, they always gather around. It's very creepy. 

They also can be very loud.

There was this one time I was trying to cross the road, but one of the members mistook me as a sasaeng. He rolled down the window of the car and glared at me. 

Sasaengs, know your boundary, please.

A kid from my school is now training to become an idol under a big company

There's this pretty girl in my school. It's rumored that she passed an audition and becomes a trainee. It's not exactly a rumor, but she told some of her friends quietly. Her company told her to not tell people that she's a trainee, that's why only some of her friends know. I used to be a close friend of her and I'm still quite close with some of her friends, that's how I know. 

But honestly, she never studies and all she does is play around. 

Teachers often call her out for sleeping in classes. When the other kids spend all-nighter to do their homework, she comes to school and asks 'Did we have homework?'. She never does them.

It feels weird to know that she's training under a big company and will be debuting as an idol soon. 

In my opinion, she's 100% going to debut. She's really gorgeous and also a great dancer. 

If she ever debuts, I think she's going to be the visual of the group. 

The company literally has no reason to not debut her. 

And that company is rumored to debut a new girl group next year (This is based on the fans' predictions, though). What if she really debuts?

She always sleeps in classes, she never studies. Sometimes I look at her and think about how she's going to regret it later when she gets older. Especially when her friends are out there working and earning money, I wonder what was she about to do. 

And then I heard she passed the audition and it left me speechless. 

I looked up the amount of money that idols make. She's under a big company, each idol probably earns billion KRW. If she's doing really well, she could earn so much more than that. 

I'm way smarter than she is, I'm a good student.

It feels unfair to think that she's going to earn that much money I won't even be able to compare. 

She would be riding expensive cars, wearing high-end brand products, going overseas for vacations, buying nice houses in Gangnam, etc. 

She would gain tons of fans and living a nice life. 

It upsets me to think that someone who's not as good as the student I am is going to live a nice life like that. It just doesn't feel right. 

She spends her high-school days playing around. And now she gets into the top 3 companies and preparing to debut as an idol. 

When I become older, I probably won't earn more than 1Billion KRW in a year, no matter how hard I work. 

And idols could easily earn a billion KRW. It just pisses me off to think about that. 

If she was a diligent student, I wouldn't be this upset. I would be happy for her, instead. 

But she is not a diligent student. She only passed the audition because she's pretty. It's upsetting. 

I'm not being insecure or anything, but if this happened to you, you probably would feel the same way. 

It just doesn't make sense to me.

Is there any other way to date idols besides of debuting as one?

I know it's really pathetic of me to be 18 years old and still think like this, but it's just that my bias is really my ideal type.

From his face, personality, body... Just everything about him is my ideal type, it's driving me crazy. 

He's completely the visualization of my ideal type. I don't even care about the other guys.

I even seriously think about preparing to go on auditions to be a trainee;;

Even though I'm sure that 99% of the chances I won't be debuting as an idol...^^

Is there any other way?

Go Jiyong was a former idol, his wife is a doctor. Song Ilgook's wife is a judge. Jeon Hyebin and Lee Yoonji's husbands are both dentists. Oh Gosh, why am I taking this seriously...
