The acceptance speeches by 'Our Unwritten Seoul' star Park Boyoung and director Park Shinwoo at the Baeksang Arts Awards have left a deep impression on many viewers.

At the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards held on May 8 at COEX D Hall in Gangnam, Seoul, 'Our Unwritten Seoul' star Park Boyoung won the Best Actress Award in the television category, beating out strong nominees including Kim Goeun, Park Jihyun, Shin Hyesun, and Lim Yoona.

Taking the stage, Park Boyoung delivered a heartfelt acceptance speech in a trembling voice. She said, "I really hate competition, and there were many moments when I felt overwhelmed and exhausted due to constantly having to prove my worth and usefulness." She continued, "At times like that, I'd look around and see so many amazing actors beside me. I didn't want to fall behind. It made me want to do even better. Maybe those sharp-edged feelings of not wanting to lose are what made me who I am today."

She added, "I want to express my deep respect and gratitude to the many actors who have been good, well-intentioned competitors and, at times, my pacemakers."

Recalling the time she chose the project, Park Boyoung confessed, "I chose 'Our Unwritten Seoul' out of a great ambition. Until the filming began, I spent many days worrying and regretting my decision, wondering, 'With what confidence and courage did I choose this project?' and 'Can I really do a good job?' Every time that happened, reading the script gave me courage that I didn't even know I had."

Lastly, Park Boyoung said, "To all the 'deers' and 'hermit crabs' in this world, I want to say this: yesterday is over, tomorrow is still far away, and we don't know yet about today. So, let's just live well through today." Her words deeply resonated with both the audience at the venue and viewers at home.

On the same day, 'Our Unwritten Seoul' director Park Shinwoo, who won the Best Director award in the television category, also touched viewers with his speech.

Director Park stated, "We live in a world where if you are not useful, you are left behind. I believe TV dramas should exist for those who have nowhere to lean on, who are lonely, who don't even have the time to go anywhere, or who cannot afford to pay to watch something." He continued, "I believe existing for those people is the true 'purpose of drama.'"

After the two shared their heartfelt acceptance speeches, messages of empathy and support flooded online communities.

Netizens reacted with comments like, "Park Boyoung's trembling acceptance speech felt like it completed 'Our Unwritten Seoul'" "It was a drama that gave me great comfort during difficult times," and "Watching this drama at the end of an exhausting day gives me the strength to live through tomorrow."
